They are resting while using Leomund’s Tiny Hut spell to shield them from any possible attacks.   The atmosphere inside the 10 ft radius  space is comfortable and dry, regardless of the weather outside. Until the spell ends, you can command the interior to become dimly lit or dark. The dome is opaque from the outside, of any color you choose, but it is transparent from the inside.   Three Orcs find the Tiny Hut during the 1 st watch and 3 more show up during the 3 rd watch and they wait around the hut when they find they could not get inside.   Rolo casts Mage Armor upon himself before the Tiny Hut is dispelled and the party lines them selves up to get ready to attack the Orcs. As so as the hut dissolves aways the party members with ranged weapons unleash them upon the orcs.   Dia, casts the Ray of Frost at Orc #05, dealing 16 cold damage and defeating him!   Avery, fires the light crossbow, with the bolt striking for 5 damage!   Rolo, casts the Fire Bolt at Orc #06, hitting for 7 fire damage!   Juan, fires the light crossbow at Orc #06, the bolt missing as he dodged aside!   Combat Round #01:   Dia, fires the Ray of Frost at Orc #04, dealing 16 cold damage and defeats him!   Avery, cast Heroism upon Juan, Marcuria and Roqar, giving them immunity to fear and +4 temporary hit points!   Orc #03, tossed a javelin at Juan and missed!   Rolo, casts Fire Bolt at Orc #06 hitting for 3 fire damage!   Orc #06, tossed a javelin at Marcuria, hitting for 6 piercing damage!   Orc #01, tossed a javelin at Roqar and missed!   Juan, fires the light crossbow, and the bolt missed Orc #02!   Orc #02, fumbles a javelin toss at Thyus and a dexterity saving throw shows he stays on his feet!   Roqar, slashed Orc #01 with the magical +1 Talon long sword for 9 damage!   Marcuria, pounds Orc #01 with the warhammer (two-handed) for 9 bludgeoning damage, defeating him!   Thyus, tries to jab Orc #021 with the spear (two-handed) but missed!   2 nd Attacks / Bonus Actions for Round #01:   Juan, fires the light crossbow, missing orc #02! (I think crossbows only get 1 short a round due to re-load time!)   Marcuria throws her warhammer at an Orc dealing 8 bludgeoning damage!     Combat Round #02:   Dia, casts the Ray of Frost at Orc #06, and he dodged the it!   Avery, casts Vicious Mockery at Orc #06, who fails his wisdom save rolling a 1 needing ≥ 15 and takes 4 psychic damage!   Orc #03, tossed a javelin at Juan, hitting for  7 piercing damage!   Rolo, casts the Fire Bolt at  Orc #06, hitting for 17 fire damage, defeating him!   Juan, pounds Orc #02 with the magical +1 Lightbringer mace for 6 bludgeoning damage, defeating him!   Roqar, missed an Orc with her dagger!   Marcuria, pounds Orc #03 with the warhammer (two-handed) for 14 bludgeoning damage!   Thyus, jabs Orc #03 with the spear (two-handed) for 10 damage, defeating him!   End of Combat!   Nothing of value was found upon them as they likely already deposited any raided goods into their cave.   The adventurers re-enter the cave first going into Unojo the cyclop’s cave to search around.   The stench coming from this room is noticeable even from outside. The floor is covered with mud, excrement, and the raw remains of consumed animals. Leaned against the walls are half a dozen clubs, diligently ordered by size.   Rolo, finds a solid gold box, now covered in muck like it was tossed aside. It has a lever crank attached to it. Roqar, attempts to turn the crank but it just spins loosely, as if it is not catching upon anything. Opening the box reveals various gears attached to a mechanism that has little spikes that strike metal strips of various lengths. The crank seems to have come loose from the winding gears. Roqar now believes it to be a carillon box. Next up, they look around in a cavern were the Orc keep the game they’ve hunted. The skinned body of a deer hangs from ceiling hooks, flanked by several rabbits and birds. Piled against the walls are barrels of water and beer, sacks of flour, and boxes of vegetables, that were gathered from raids. Juan determines there is enough foodstuff for at least 2 days consumption. They return to the Altar of Gruumsh area, again hearing the sound of metal clanking upon metal from the north west, and then proceed down a south west corridor into another cavern. Javelins have been stuck into the ground here to form a 10-foot-radius circle. The ground inside the circle is stained with blood and littered with scraps of cloth. No one finds anything more inside this cavern and proceed back to the altar room then down the south east passage. This cave is divided in two by a 10-foot-deep chasm. Two humans are trapped in the crevice, crouching against the wall trying to warm each other up. As soon as they see you, they withdraw, observing you with a terrified look. The adventurers converse with them trying to alleviate their fears and Juan tossed down some food for them to eat. They tell the party that they were captured by the orcs, on the way to Phandalin from Triboar on the Triboar trail. They had them cleaning up after the orcs. They tell Marcuria the banging being heard is from the orc blacksmith doing his work. Juan, tosses them down a rope and they climb back up. The couple is told that they will be escorted back to Phandalin when they are done here. Juan, gives them water to drink now and they are each given a great axe from one of the dead orcs. They introduce themselves as Olaf and his wife Elam. It’s back to the altar room and then up the north east passage now. A thick purple cloth covers the entrance to this cave. It appears someone tried to decorate the room to give it an elegant look, without much success. A roughly tanned bearskin rug lies on the floor, placed like a carpet. A wooden chest stands near a straw mattress with a wool blanket, and a large piece of rock sits in the middle of the room, its surface polished so it can function as a desk. On top of it is a rough map of the area drawn on the skin of a rabbit.
Roqar, checks the chest for a trap using her thieves’ tools and did not find one. The chest is already unlocked so it is opened to reveal an ivory amulet worth 40 gold pieces and 750 copper pieces, 180 silver pieces, 62 electrum pieces, 30 gold pieces and 3 vials. Opening one vial releases a pleasant flowery scent. Thyus, dips a finger into the opened vial with the rose colored liquid, then tastes it, finding it to be heavy on the alcohol. Opening the other two reveal a similar liquid but in different colors and scents. Looking at the map locations are marked upon it in Orcish which Juan understands to read the locations of Phandalin, Old Owl Well, Conyberry, Cragmaw Castle, Leilon, Lighthouse, Logger’s camp, Falcon’s Hunters’ Lodge, Woodland Manse, Gnomengarde, Shrine of Savaras, a place in the Sword Mountains simply labeled, ‘Home’ and a place north of that labeled ‘Eris’. Roqar believes she could get about 10 gold pieces each for the vials. The adventurers finally venture up the north west passage off the altar room and see and hear: At the end of this long corridor you hear the rhythmic noise of metal being shaped. As you enter the cave, you see an elderly orc hammering on a sword. The old smith stops, turning to you. His eye sockets are empty. The smith sniffs the air in your direction before showing you his lower fangs. “Who are you?” he growls in a deep voice. Marcurai says, “The cleanup crew. Afraid it’s just you now”. Olaf makes his presence known and tells Bor that the rest are friends. Bor says, “Eh, new cleaning crew? Well get to work and straighten up the place. I am blind I cannot see what needs to be cleaned”. Marcuria says, “… That’s not… erm… ahem. Yes sir. Whatever you say sir…” The sword Bor the mad is working on looks rather shabby and you see two longbows that need restrung and two dozen arrows and nine javelins in the smithy area here. Marcuria, proceeds to start leaving motioning for the others to follow when Elam suggests that Bor come with them saying he could help the blacksmith in Phandalin and get paid with a better place to live. Avery says, “ I don't think that's a good idea......orcs are infamous for being....troublesome to live with, to put it bluntly." Juan goes back to check under the bear rug in the leader’s cavern but nothing is to be found.  Bor says, “Look, I can sense I am way outnumbered here and can smell the scent of death in the air. If you are going to kill me, I will put up a fight however.” Avery says, "You could come with us, if you can behave yourself. The blacksmith in town could always use some help around the forge."   Juan says, “He could go stay with the orcs at the temple of Savaran.” Roqar says, “Hope the townies can also be persuaded. (Phandalin folks).   Avery says, "I can take care of that if need be. It shouldn't be difficult to explain how immoral it is to attack someone who's blind."   Bor says, "Eh, at this point working for the town blacksmith, in Phandalin or Conyberry would be preferable to mixing with my kind at the temple. They see us warrior types as troublesome when it comes to raising family, thus why we split when the white dragon chased us from home."   Rolo asks Bor how he became blind. Bor tells him he was born that way.   Juan tells Bor that the white dragon was killed since it is known that is what chased the Many Arrows tribe orcs from their home in Icespire peak. Bor smiles and says, “Impressive if you did so.”   Marcuria says, “ "Then you better wrap up what you have there and get ready to leave. We're not going to hang around much longer ourselves. We'll get you to a castle not too far away. The dragons forced us to move them there, where it's safer. Still, you can be there with them. Avery and I will make sure you don't get bothered too much, so long as you're telling the truth about all of this."   Bor says, “I really don’t have much choice, so I will come with you or starve.” Bor gathers what little he has and stuffs it into a backpack as the adventurers search through the sleeping area.   Rolo finds a silver plated dagger and the rest find 30 copper, and 9 silver coins scattered about.   Rolo asks Bor what would orcs need with perfume, (the three vials)? Bor tells him “The Chief likely found them in a raid and thought he could use them as gifts for a ladyfriend for all I know.”     The party then leaves for 75 mile, 5 day trip back to Axeholm fortress, which was uneventful.   Once there they seek out the town’s tinkerer and Avery use his tinkering tools to fix the gears and crank of the gold box.   Rolo, casts the identify spell upon the box before resting for the night and determines that the carillon has the magical effect of calming those whom are within 20 ft of it.   Thyus leaves the adventure party and gives the +1 Dragonbane greatsword to Juan. Avery is given the magical Gauntlets of Ogre Power, increasing her strength to 19.   Time is spent restocking the wagons and then everyone leaves Axeholm, with the main gate again being barred up and the last few climbing out of the same chimney used by the adventurers when first climbing down into the fortress.  Then it’s 15 miles back to Phaldalin through grasslands.           And this ends the gaming session for the day, until next time!   It is now August 5th (Day 45) at 8:15 pm.     The Adventurers’ Experience Points Earned This Session:   Orcs (6): Challenge Level ½ : 100 * 6 = 600 XP      Total:  600 XP 600 / 6 = 100 XP per Adventurer   ----------   Grand Total Experience Points:   Everyone is at 12,990,76 XP    Level 6 now reached at 14,000 XP     Loot Found This Session:   Magical golden  Carillon box   Map of realm on rabbit skin   Silvered dagger   Ivory amulet worth 40 gold pieces and 750 copper pieces, 180 silver pieces, 62 electrum pieces, 30 gold pieces and 3 vials (of perfume worth 10 gp).   30 copper, and 9 silver pieces    Number of Sessions for current Adventure Module: 76 th Session for “Lost Mines of Phandelver / Dragon of Icespire Peak” 07/17/2021   [1st Session start was 08/15/2019]
