Drakke Game Summary for Saturday (07/17/2021): Opening Scene: Day 45: August 5th, 7:30 pm The adventurers are in the hills of Wyvern Tor, currently
camping outside near the cave of Orcs from the Many Arrows tribe. They are
resting while using Leomund’s Tiny Hut spell to shield them from any possible
attacks. The atmosphere inside the 10 ft radius space is comfortable and dry, regardless of
the weather outside. Until the spell ends, you can command the interior to
become dimly lit or dark. The dome is opaque from the outside, of any color you
choose, but it is transparent from the inside. Three Orcs find the Tiny Hut during the 1 st
watch and 3 more show up during the 3 rd watch and they wait around
the hut when they find they could not get inside. Rolo casts Mage Armor upon himself before the Tiny Hut
is dispelled and the party lines them selves up to get ready to attack the
Orcs. As so as the hut dissolves aways the party members with ranged weapons
unleash them upon the orcs. Dia, casts the Ray of Frost at Orc #05, dealing 16
cold damage and defeating him! Avery, fires the light crossbow, with the bolt
striking for 5 damage! Rolo, casts the Fire Bolt at Orc #06, hitting for 7
fire damage! Juan, fires the light crossbow at Orc #06, the bolt
missing as he dodged aside! Combat Round #01: Dia, fires the Ray of Frost at Orc #04, dealing 16
cold damage and defeats him! Avery, cast Heroism upon Juan, Marcuria and Roqar,
giving them immunity to fear and +4 temporary hit points! Orc #03, tossed a javelin at Juan and missed! Rolo, casts Fire Bolt at Orc #06 hitting for 3 fire
damage! Orc #06, tossed a javelin at Marcuria, hitting for 6
piercing damage! Orc #01, tossed a javelin at Roqar and missed! Juan, fires the light crossbow, and the bolt missed
Orc #02! Orc #02, fumbles a javelin toss at Thyus and a
dexterity saving throw shows he stays on his feet! Roqar, slashed Orc #01 with the magical +1 Talon long
sword for 9 damage! Marcuria, pounds Orc #01 with the warhammer
(two-handed) for 9 bludgeoning damage, defeating him! Thyus, tries to jab Orc #021 with the spear
(two-handed) but missed! 2 nd Attacks / Bonus Actions for Round #01: Juan, fires the light crossbow, missing orc #02! (I
think crossbows only get 1 short a round due to re-load time!) Marcuria throws her warhammer at an Orc dealing 8
bludgeoning damage! Combat Round #02: Dia, casts the Ray of Frost at Orc #06, and he dodged
the it! Avery, casts Vicious Mockery at Orc #06, who fails his
wisdom save rolling a 1 needing ≥ 15 and takes 4 psychic damage! Orc #03, tossed a javelin at Juan, hitting for 7 piercing damage! Rolo, casts the Fire Bolt at Orc #06, hitting for 17 fire damage,
defeating him! Juan, pounds Orc #02 with the magical +1 Lightbringer
mace for 6 bludgeoning damage, defeating him! Roqar, missed an Orc with her dagger! Marcuria, pounds Orc #03 with the warhammer
(two-handed) for 14 bludgeoning damage! Thyus, jabs Orc #03 with the spear (two-handed) for 10
damage, defeating him! End of Combat! Nothing of value was found upon them as they likely
already deposited any raided goods into their cave. The adventurers re-enter the cave first going into
Unojo the cyclop’s cave to search around. The
stench coming from this room is noticeable even from outside. The floor is
covered with mud, excrement, and the raw remains of consumed animals. Leaned
against the walls are half a dozen clubs, diligently ordered by size. Rolo,
finds a solid gold box, now covered in muck like it was tossed aside. It has a
lever crank attached to it. Roqar,
attempts to turn the crank but it just spins loosely, as if it is not catching
upon anything. Opening
the box reveals various gears attached to a mechanism that has little spikes
that strike metal strips of various lengths. The crank seems to have come loose
from the winding gears. Roqar now believes it to be a carillon box. Next
up, they look around in a cavern were the Orc keep the game they’ve hunted. The
skinned body of a deer hangs from ceiling hooks, flanked by several rabbits and
birds. Piled against the walls are barrels of water and beer, sacks of flour,
and boxes of vegetables, that were gathered from raids. Juan determines there
is enough foodstuff for at least 2 days consumption. They
return to the Altar of Gruumsh area, again hearing the sound of metal clanking
upon metal from the north west, and then proceed down a south west corridor
into another cavern. Javelins have been stuck into the ground here to form a
10-foot-radius circle. The ground inside the circle is stained with blood and
littered with scraps of cloth. No
one finds anything more inside this cavern and proceed back to the altar room
then down the south east passage. This
cave is divided in two by a 10-foot-deep chasm. Two humans are trapped in the
crevice, crouching against the wall trying to warm each other up. As soon as
they see you, they withdraw, observing you with a terrified look. The
adventurers converse with them trying to alleviate their fears and Juan tossed
down some food for them to eat. They
tell the party that they were captured by the orcs, on the way to Phandalin
from Triboar on the Triboar trail. They had them cleaning up after the orcs.
They tell Marcuria the banging being heard is from the orc blacksmith doing his
work. Juan,
tosses them down a rope and they climb back up. The couple is told that they
will be escorted back to Phandalin when they are done here. Juan,
gives them water to drink now and they are each given a great axe from one of
the dead orcs. They
introduce themselves as Olaf and his wife Elam. It’s
back to the altar room and then up the north east passage now.
A thick purple cloth covers
the entrance to this cave. It appears someone tried to decorate the room to
give it an elegant look, without much success. A roughly tanned bearskin rug
lies on the floor, placed like a carpet. A wooden chest stands near a straw
mattress with a wool blanket, and a large piece of rock sits in the middle of
the room, its surface polished so it can function as a desk. On top of it is a
rough map of the area drawn on the skin of a rabbit.
