Question on Protocol

Hello all,   Quick question on protocol.  New to advertising looking for gamers on the forum.  In the past week, I've had two people DM me about being interested in my game, but then, they never replied to my reply.  The only thing I did was give them my e-mail and tell them to drop me a line so I could send them an invite to the game and send them links to the game materials (creation rules, history of world, etc).   Neither ever responded to the reply.  I was wondering if there's some protocol I'm not aware of for Roll20?  I'm assuming they just changed their minds or were trolling (both equal possibilities).  But figured I'd ask if I'm somehow violating a protocol I wasn't aware of.
Emails are considered personal info and not allowed to be given without consent. Most of time people only use discord as a platform to discus and play games and a small few use skype.
Oh, hmm, but the game asks for an e-mail to send an invite to?
Don't really have a discord.  I'd have discussed in DM if they'd responded again?
if they apply in thread in your game. there's a button that says invite. Which will do it auto to the account. second option when you launch game, in chat of game is link choose to copy link and past for them to click and that will invite them too.
They DM'd, not in thread.  How do I link a thread to my game for them to apply to it?   I'll DM them an apology for not realizing the protocol.
most simply if you just want to invite. Open your game by launching it. copy link in chat of game and send it to them. More complicated way is to set game to public search. then they can apply directly that way.

That kind of things happen a lot. Don't mind it but try to use discord for voice mostly that will help you and you can invite with a link too just go to your game page and :

Hi Matt.  Welcome, and don't lose heart!  There is nothing wrong with sending by email (I've seen members do it before), and you can certainly also send the link by just Roll20 message, or even Discord (although not everyone uses/likes Discord as Discord has its own problems too). However, it is the unfortunate reality that there will be many times where someone messages you and then never responds again; or someone actually joins your game on Roll20, but never shows with no notice nor any update; or people that play a few sessions and drop with no notice and no response even when you try to follow up; and then there are also DMs that start games and then one day deletes the game + Roll20 account without notice. Many people when they go online seem to forget there are people on the other end and don't have even the most basic level of courtesy/respect for others.  Many will even use the excuse of "not real life" or "real life more important" , forgetting that on the other end is a real person with a real schedule and other committments too.  Not to sound pessimistic, but it is the state of things here.  Some may even say that many people need to go back to kindergarten and learn the basics of being a person. ;) You just have to keep trying and getting members / interested people.  Over time, you will get a feel of the type of people inquiring/joining and better see through which are likely ghosters and which are people that have mutual respect for each other.

I hate those players who join then don't even have the decency to leave or message the DM.
Thanks for the response all.  Helps.
