
The Griffon Knights Represents the ultimate in mounted flying warfare, the Griffon Knights are the quintessential knight that holds honor above everything. A Griffon Knights never considers their Griffon just their mount. It is their companion, their little brother/sister that they bond with. Griffon Knights are Thechlon's defense versus invasion either by the sky or by sea. The Griffon Knights and Thechlon's Airships keep Thechlon safe from invasion. Requirements Base Attack Bonus: +8 Alignment: Any lawful. Skills: Handle Animal 8 ranks, Knowledge (nobility and royalty) four ranks, Ride 8 ranks Feats: Mounted Combat, Calvary Charge, Trample, Spirited Charge, Mounted Archery, Ride by attack, Mounted Mobility Hit die D10 Skill points: 2 + Int Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Griffon Knights are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, all types of armor, and shields. Special Mount: A Griffon Knight’s class levels stack with any paladin levels the character might have for deciding the characteristics of a paladin's mount. Knighthood: Griffon Knights are considered Knighted soldiers of the empire. Thus, all Griffon Knights are given the rank of sir and landed noble(meaning they can own land and allowed all benefits befitting such), and their families are acknowledged of knighted status. Griffon Cohort: A Griffon Knight gains a Griffon as a cohort. If the Griffon dies, the Griffon Knight must wait 1 year before receiving a new Cohort. Several Griffon Knight Abilities only function when mounted upon their Griffon Mount. Mounted Weapon Bonus (Ex): A Griffon Knight gains a competence bonus on his attack roll when using the indicated weapon while mounted. For the lance, this bonus starts out at +1 at first level and increases by +1 every four levels thereafter. For the sword, this bonus starts out at +1 at second level and increases by +1 every four levels thereafter. Ride Bonus (Ex): A Griffon Knight gains a competence bonus on Ride checks. This bonus starts out at +2 and improves to +4 at fourth level, +6 at seventh level, and +8 at ninth level. Courtly Knowledge (Ex): A Griffon Knight adds his class level to his knowledge (nobility and royalty) and diplomacy checks as a competence bonus. This comes from their experience of dealing with those of high status and also from their renown becoming more far spread Deadly Charge (Ex): When mounted and using the charge action, a Griffon Knight of second level or higher may declare a "deadly charge" before making his attack roll (thus, a failed attack ruins the attempt). If he hits, he deals triple damage with a melee weapon (or quadruple damage with a lance). This ability does not stack with the benefit of the Spirited Charge feat. Fly By Attack (Ex): At 3rd level and higher, a Griffon Knight grants their griffon the ability of the feat Fly By Attack. Through training the Griffon Knight has been able to bestow such upon their mount. This only works with their bonded mount. Full Mounted Attack (Ex): At 6th level and higher, a mounted Griffon Knight can make a full attack when his Griffon Mount moves more than five feet but no farther than a single move action would carry it. The Griffon Knight cannot combine this full attack with a charge.=, nor does this work with any other mount except their Griffon. Unstoppable Charge (Ex): When making a deadly charge, a 10th-level Griffon Knight deals quadruple damage with a melee weapon (or quintuple damage with a lance). Multiclass Note: A paladin who becomes a Griffon Knight may continue advancing as a paladin. To clarify the damage multiplier, the extra damage is only counting the actual damage of the weapon's dice, not multiplying any other enhancements Advancement Level* Base Attack
