Is there a way to create an invisible barrier?

I'd like to create an invisible barrier, basically; a room in which the players can see into but cannot move into. Ideally I would like this to become visible as they approach the doorway and be subject to the normal conditions of Explorable Darkness until they solve the puzzle to fully open the door. Are there any ways to do this? Any idea/suggestions welcome Thank you (N.B I am a Plus user)
You could try turning on free to play fog of war. I'd just move the players briefly to another map, probably my marching order/travel pace page and paint the scene with theater of the mind. The amount of times I have burned prep time on trying to get an API to do something unique only to see the api poorly perform, OR the players totally break the situation so that it was pointless in the end is so numerous I've started just defaulting to theatre of the mind for virtually everything. This way I don't burn so many cool maps.

I'm not sure if there's a Plus subscriber way to do it manually.

Does UDLWindows still work? I might be making this up, but did I see that that exploit had been "fixed"? Regarding non-api: You could maybe leave "Dynamic Lighting Barriers Restrict Movement" checked and turn off DL for the page? (does that even work?). But of course, that would likely be problematic for other obvious reasons unless you used manual FoW for that map. I would prob just tell the players that they couldn't move through, tbh.

Yeah this is my impression. Things related to DL "Windows" is listed on this page: https://wiki.roll20.net/Windows
