How to let an NPC cheat at dice

Hi all, I'm a first time DM running a campaign set in Baldur's Gate. Part of the story involves meeting an NPC who plays Baldurs Bones and who very often cheats. I was wondering if there is a way to roll the dice in such a way that I can choose when this character cheats when playing against my player characters, but without them knowing (unless they suspect she's cheating and pass an insight test.) Rolling in secret and just saying "yeah she wins" seems a little suspect to me, so I'm wondering if there's a way to give the appearance of a random roll, when in fact I'm directly inputting the result. Just to clarify, I'm NOT looking to cheat my players in legitimate skills checks or in initiative or anything like that, just specifically for this NPC who cheats at dice as part of the story. If they catch her cheating then there will obviously be consequences! Thanks :)

For reference: https://infernalmachines.obsidianportal.com/wikis/baldurs-bones You might try nesting inline rolls in a macro to hide the actual dice rolled (note: you will lose the quantum roller indicator); A player would roll 3d6 like so; [[ [[ d6 ]] + [[ d6 ]] + [[ d6 ]] ]] but the cheating NPC might use [[ [[ 6 ]] + [[ 6 ]] + [[ 6 ]] ]] Other than that, I'm not sure how you could "openly" fudge the rolls.

I'd say Vince's way too. It's come up in 2 past campaigns on here, 1 that i played and one DM'd. This method can be "caught" and brought to questioning, which is what you'd want for this situation anyway (OP's last sentence). Enjoy! Should be fun.
Awesome thanks very much, I'll give that a go.

If you want to make it that-much-easier for players to notice the cheating, do this Players roll: [[ d6 ]] + [[ d6 ]] + [[ d6 ]] but the cheating NPC can use [[ 6 ]] + [[ 6 ]] + [[ 6 ]] This is Vince's method WITHOUT the extra brackets that hide what's been rolled. The players can still Mouse-Over to start to notice the cheating either way. It will be easier to notice and prove the suspicious cheating with this method, and slightly more hidden with Vince's version.
