Help with creating bestiary for West End Star Wars D6

Hey all! I've run some great games for pathfinder and 5e out of roll20, but I wanted to get nostalgic and run a SWd6 for my friends. I've been having trouble with a few things. 1. I've created some generic template NPCs, but I can't really link their wound levels or anything to the tokens I drag from the creature in the journal. I basically have to attach it to the character sheet, which makes it a pain if I have like, 15 stormtroopers on a map, specially since they all link to the same sheet. Any ideas on how to fix this? 2. Rolling NPC skills/attributes from macros. So yeah, having an issue there too. I can't drag the button for rolling weapon/damage to the macro bar like I can in 5e. I've been playing with a few ideas, and a lot of the stuff on the wiki seems like it's more geared for the d20 systems. I think I can get things going easily for my friends once I get this resolved. Really happy to find that there is a character sheet that seems well done!

If your issue in number 1 is that tokens are linked to character sheets, so you cant change the hp on one without changing them on all (or similar), look at this [age: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals</a>, specifically item 4. b. Basically you create a token for your stormtroopers, set it up how you want, and then before adding it as a default token, unlike the attributes from the bubbles. Then add it as a default token. I think there's a page on the wiki that covers this process step by step but I couldn't find it. But if you do that, each token is completely independent - you can drag 15 tokens from the stormtrooper character sheet, and they'll att take damage separately (if damage is tracked on one of the bubbles). On your second question: that sounds like sheet is not created correctly. The buttons should be draggable to the macro bar, but there's a common error that sheet creators can make that stops this working properly. Which sheet are you using? (There are at least 9 star wars sheets, so please be specific.)

They are likely using either one of these: Star Wars: (D6) West End Games (best for 2E, R&amp;E and REUP, but also supports 1E) Star Wars 30th Anniversary Edition (best for 1E /30th Anniversary Edition) The buttons should be draggable to the macro bar, but there's a common error that sheet creators can make that stops this working properly. Is this about name="roll_" thing? It might not be to only thing, recall there have been some problems on how roll buttons in rep sections work after CSE was introduced.

I missed that about CSE, but after your pointers I looked at three star wars d6 sheets and it looks like they have the name="roll_" part. The sheets I checked were <a href="https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/tree/master/D6StarWars" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/tree/master/D6StarWars</a> <a href="https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/tree/master/Star%20Wars%2030th%20Anniversary%20Edition" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/tree/master/Star%20Wars%2030th%20Anniversary%20Edition</a> <a href="https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/tree/master/Star%20Wars%20Revised%20RPG" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/tree/master/Star%20Wars%20Revised%20RPG</a> Which is kind of a shame because I was expecting that to be the issue. Do you know more about the CSE issue?

Star Wars Revised RPG is a&nbsp; version of the Star Wars D20 games. <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Star_Wars" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Star_Wars</a> has comprehensive documentation on all Star-Wars related games on Roll20. Roll20 only have two Star Wars D6 sheet, which are the first two you linked (and are the ones I linked to in the comment above) Do you know more about the CSE issue? No, only that I've seen some sheet author discussions on it at some point. It's a post-CSE thing, but don't remember how recently this was, or if it was fixed. I haven't listed it on BCS/Bugs , so don't have more clues, but generally I remember some of the changes/updates to sheets doesn't always work with rep sections as expected, and eventually gets fixes afterwards. Woops: Star Wars D6 bug I just noticed I have Attribute &amp; Skill rolls on the Star Wars: (D6) West End Games sheet that I've forgot to add names to, but that's unrelated to&nbsp; weapons-section. I'll submit a fix for those this week.

(There are at least 9 star wars sheets, so please be specific.) Thank you, thank you so much for this. I saw this post earlier today and I now have the entire clone army/officers made, storm troopers up through moffs, and am getting going on general rabble now. This post saved me SO much frustration!! I am using this , my personal favorite sheet . Thank you for making this, Andreas. In the past I created a small c# app that interacted with the window and would randomly generate NPC's based off of criteria I made for each NPC in each encounter. It was a very painstaking bit of work. Now I have learned how to properly use tokens (only took about 4 years...) When I try to drag say, the dex roll to a token's action bar two things happen: 1. I can't drag to the token bar, just the main bar at the bottom 2. The macro takes on the name of "NPC Template:" &nbsp;which references the fact that I am using the NPC template; it would say clone trooper if I tried it with one of those. Here is the output clicking it gives me in chat: No ability was found for %{NPC Template|} 11:28AM The Force (Phil GM) (GM): NPC Template| Thank you all for the help! I am so excited to be able to set this up so quickly. Andreas, I can't thank you enough for maintaining the SWd6 sheet as well as you do. My father introduced me to tabletop games and he has (now I have) all of the original books from 1e to the 2nd ed revised and so, so many of the extra books. I have two shelves dedicated to SWd6. I've been able to now get my kids, 11 and 19, and 4 of my gen-Z cousins into tabletop RPGs through this system as they are all Star Wars fans. Since only my youngest still lives with me and my wife, being able to hop on roll 20 and play this game has just been an amazing bonding experience for all of us. So once again, thank you for all of your hard work in keeping this system alive and kicking on roll 20.
One last thing, so with the wiki's help I've figured out how to use the crit system on the d6 on manual rolls done through macros on the NPCs. Is there a way to reference say, the numeric value in the red circle of a token? I'd like to use that as the wound mod tracker, would be helpful to have that auto calculated in the roll vs having to either have a popup for a dice mod or doing mental math. The more I learn the macro system here, the more enticement I have to go to the pro level so I can mess with the API. I'm a node.js/javascript dev by trade so having access to that level of scripting/code would be very nice. Do you need to have certain requirements to add anything to the API? Or do you have access to add your own function for API calls?

I'm not following you wehn you say drag to the token bar. If you're referring to the bar that appears above a token when you have it selected, I don't believe there's a way to drag macros there (unless it was added during my 3 month absence from the forums). To get things to show up there, you have to do these two steps: create either a universal macro, or an ability on the sheet, and tick the token action checkbox on that macro or ability.

The token bubbles are named (from left to right) bar3, bar1, and bar2 (for historical reasons, they arent listed in order), and you access them with @{selected | bar1} If you get access to pro, it will open a new world - both being able to do things quicker (so much quicker), and being able to do just more. There are a lot of pre-made scripts that you can do amazing things without ever writing a line of code, but you can also create your own scripts.

I made a macro with a popup macro with all the main stat macros nested inside and added that to the token bar. Thanks for helping walk through this with me. My template has been growing and have been able to make many useful additions! Second question (and I think last?) I think I'd probably need the API for this: with the SWd6 rule where each extra action after the first you get -1d, is there a way to track how many actions have been taken in a round stored in a variable that gets reset at the end of a round? You can answer yes or no, if it's yes I can figure it out :)

That did the trick. I think I'm set! Next month I'm going to get the bump to pro, can't wait to work with that API!&nbsp; Once again, thank you all for your work and your time helping me through this.

<a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/SWD6#API" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/SWD6#API</a> has some pointers &amp; examples on how some API can be used with the character sheet. There are obviously tons more APIs that are great, but most other APIs don't care about what character sheet is used. <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/API:Script_Index" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/API:Script_Index</a> has a more comprehensive list on available APIs, grouped by category.
