"Constant Drachenfels, The Great Enchanter. A devil in human form, who cheated Death for centuries unknown; a man with appetites so base they lay beyond satiation; a necromancer, torturer of the dead, dismemberer of spirits; vileness made flesh; a wizard, a scholar, a monster. Untold are the reaches of his barbarities, uncounted the number of his treacheries, beyond belief the depravities of his practices. Was ever such a vileness born of mortal flesh?" -Lives of the Depraved, by Konrad Steinhoff (Talabheim, Schnuffler & Son Publishers, 2099.) The Enduring Nightmare Drachenfels, the Great Enchanter, is dead. The very embodiment of horror and evil, he was slain by a Vampire and a humble mortal man (possessed by a force anything but mortal) in a way still sung by minstrels and extolled by poets and playwrights. A life of unknown thousands of years, if legends are true, is over. Man, beast or daemon, Drachenfels lies mouldering in a filthy sepulchre. The nightmare of his existence has come to an end. But Castle Drachenfels still stands, shunned even by the most desperate and corrupt inhabitants of the Grey Mountains. Its seven towers claw toward the grey skies like the fingers of a mutated hand, and the bitter mountain winds howl around them like souls damned to torment by the foul sorceries of the Great Enchanter... Beyond the winds, beyond the cawing of the unclean birds along the crags, beyond the scrabbling of a rock lizard or other hopeful, hungry brute, beyond any sound a mortal's hearing might detect, there is something else. Sensed somewhere below the thinking mind, somehow older and wiser than consciousness, there is something... A noiseless sound, an odourless smell, an unseen sight, and indefinable Something. While the conscious mind looks in vain for the source of the unease, neck-hairs rise in response to it, and the stomach churns and flutters. Something is stirring in the Castle, a great evil again dwells its halls threatening the Empire. Do our heroes have the courage to delve into its ancient and cursed halls? My name is Jimmy, I'm 29 and from the UK. I grew up on Warhammer and RPGs and am still obsessed with the world and the systems that represent them. I have been a Game Master for over a decade and have countless hours of experience. I know a huge amount about the Warhammer lore and have extensive knowledge and experience in representing the grim-dark old world. I thrive on representing the pure horribleness of it all! To see some of my reviews check out my profile on https://startplaying.games/gm/grimgm I like to consider myself a professional Dungeon Master and am always looking for ways to test myself and also represent what I know about the Warhammer lore. For my games, I use custom sounds, Custom maps, visuals, voice changers, and of course voice acting. I work with players to bring their characters to life and immerse them in a story that they will never forget. Being such a big fan of WFRP I have played all editions and run 80% of the written content. One of my favorites of all time was Castle Drachenfels. I remember being in fear for my character's life wandering around the halls wondering what fresh horror awaits around each and every corner. I have decided to package that fear and that same experience into the 4th edition. Converting the original Castle Drachenfels adventure from WFRP 1st edition into 4th edition. This took a lot of time and a lot of playtesting with friends but I am happy to announce it's ready to play! I believe in complete transparency from the onset. This is paid experience purely because of the number of hours and resources I have to maintain in order to run the adventures to the most professional level. This includes software subscriptions and purchases I need to bring the game to life. Games will involve detailed maps, epic songs, and of course in-depth plots you can develop.
