Creative Music Content

I've never done music before. I figured I would ask those on the forum about the usefulness and where I might find some creative content. I'm looking for music in this disposition, not sound effects. 1.) Is playing with music help build the atmosphere? DM's do PC's enjoy it? 2.) Are there any good resources for music? Thanks
MUsic can greatly enhance the mood or smash the game. The level is important, as are the choices. It all depends on the group's collective taste. If you have a table full of boomers might not respond well to a rap soundtrack and your goth buddies will probably not want to hear your Sinatra collection. I have found ambient drift to work well VERY low.
I mostly use Kevin MacLeod's stuff, a wide variety of which is found on the "Incompetech" tab of the Roll20 jukebox. (Manage Audio > Tracks > Incompetech) One thing that I will do with players is point out the "Master music volume level" slider on the My Settings tab, and let them know that they can move it all the way to the left if they want no music at all. (Sometimes, as a player, I can find a game's soundtrack too loud or overwhelming, but knowing that I have local control over the volume helps a lot.)
