Blank Character Tokens Reappearing/Multiplying

It's the same problem people have been having for three years. I've tried several times now to go through the Help Desk, but the only resolutions I've seen are through a Forum Post. I've seen admins/IT, whatever, go through and fix the problem individually. Just haven't managed to get in contact with them. When it first happened, I had maybe 10 or less blank character sheets constantly appearing. And then reappearing after deletion. They've slowly multiplied to around 50. And I've seen others have nearly 240. I'd rather not let it get to that point and would like some kind of assistance before it begins to lag out my games and am forced to switch to another system. Game: https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/9272412/a-burden-of-destiny-5e-campaign-new-game-plus
Unfortunately, each time this bug has shown up, the only solution I'm aware of appears to be someone from Roll20 coming in and fixing the game manually. Hopefully between your various Help Center tickets and this post, you'll be able to get it corrected. If it turns out that there's anything users can do on our end to prevent this bug from cropping up, or resolving it once it does, please let us know in this thread.
Considering how long it's been going on, I doubt it. I'll post a fix as soon as I find one. I've already got so many characters and notes, these blanks have begun to slow me down. And I'm sure everyone else as well.

Wouldn't hurt to fill out one more Help Center request! Maybe this will be the one that sticks. (And I doubt there's much we can do, too. Like I said, the other instances I'm aware of have required manual intervention by Roll20. But if it does turn out there's some particular configuration to use or avoid that's causing these things to crop up, I would like to know.)
It definitely has something to do with the updates of individual modules. I just finished updating everything and suddenly I jumped from roughly 40 to 80. And it re-added a bunch of blank untitled pages as well.
Ah. Maybe the updates assume that the user hasn't modified the original module by deleting pages and/or characters. If that's the case ... it would be a good bug to try to whack at the source, because we DMs tend to do that. :)

Well. The Help Desk is the only way to get it done it seems. They add you to a queue and send a technician into your game behind the scenes to remove them + the code that propagates them (I assume.) Says there's a high request volume though, and it takes a while. Nothing we can do on our end.

At one point I remember some speculation (not from a Roll20 employee, so take this with a bucket of salt) that these might be caused by archived characters that the update was affecting. Did you have any archived characters that were supplied by the module?
The only time I ever got this was with certain new player package API's interacting weirdly with the mobile app. My solution was to just say no to mobile apps at my table.
