Custom tokens appearing semi transparent

Recently I've noticed all PNG images I import into the game and drag onto the screen appear semi-transparent even though no part of the image was semi-transparent.  These images are meant to be tokens, so I have them on the object level.  I can see the map through the token.   If I move the image to the map level it becomes fully solid as it should, but moving it back to the object layer makes it transparent. This is a pain because the players can't see the tokens well.  Am I missing a new setting somewhere?

You aren't missing anything. There was a patch announced here , and some discussion here . The current behavior is not getting a lot of positive feedback.
ah - thanks for pointing me to that discussion.  At least I know I can fix it by making the tokens controllable by someone.  I can make it controllable by me and that should fix it.
