The group has an appointment at
LexCorp. Lex Luthor is driving Cassandra Clemons and Prometheus
Medical Technologies (including The Prometheus Foundation) out of
business. He (Luthor) can’t touch Prometheus directly because
Cassandra owns 51% of the company but Luthor is taking control of her
suppliers and customers putting the company in a strangle hold.
Lex agrees to release his stranglehold
on Prometheus if the Brooklyn Brigade will help Doctor Bearclaw test
a new defensive system. This system will do much to protect the Earth
from the threats posed by aggressive aliens. He claims not to know
the details of what the system is or how it works but promised the
head researcher of the project that he would assure the help of the
Brooklyn Brigade in testing the project.
And Lex Luthor always keeps his
promises.
Doctor Bearclaw is waiting for them in
the conference room on the 75 th floor of the tower. If at
least one of the Brigade will talk to Bearclaw Lex will consider
releasing Prometheus. If no one talks to him then he will make sure
that Prometheus fails completely within a month.
Constable asks Lex to validate his
parking, Lex tells him to see his executive assistant Mercy and she
will do it for him. Constable then leaves.
Paladin, Kismet, Bear, and Lady Paper
go to see Doctor Bearclaw to find out more about the defensive
system. What they learn is that the system is synthetic pseudo
Kryptonians; loyal, reliable, and mass producible. When asked ‘loyal
to who’ Bearclaw answers to whomever purchases the system. Bearclaw
says that the United Nations and the United States would benefit
greatly from an army of pseudo-Kryptonians.
Bearclaw says they already have two
prototypes and he wants the people who defeated the Eradicator to
help test his synthetics. If the synthetics defeat the Brooklyn
Brigade that will be phenomenal advertising but if the Brigade defeat
the synthetics that will help show what needs to be improved upon. The group declines the offer. They
won’t be a party to slavery. Pseudo-Kryptonians are just another
thing on their list of worries which currently includes loosing the
base of operations, the vehicles Cassandra puts at their disposal,
their paychecks, and her considerable connections with the world of
government and high finance.

Flashback: Paladin contacts Nardini
about getting manpower to after the Bratva
The Plan:
Paladin Informs NYPD about their plan Kismet has gotten the warehouse with a
perch for surveillance.
Bug is made, passive, won’t transmit
unless it gets a signal from outside Place Micro-detonators in the DARPA
weapons.
Paladin gets camera and shotgun
microphone.
Individual
Constable will get Polyweave Clothing
suit loc 7 to 16. 9RPD/0RED Act 14 or less.
Constable goes to the tea room and
offers to sell advanced weapons. They set up a time for Boris Antonov
to broker a sale for them after they are demonstrated the next day at
4PM.
October 11, 2018 Wednesday 4PM Twenty officers go to the sting
location and hide. Paladin gets in position to see and record both
audio and visual of the meeting to use as evidence. A limousine and a
van pull into the parking lot before 4.
Super Brat(va) gets out of the
limousine joining four thugs from the van.
Boris Antonov, in the limousine,
leaves.
The remaining Bratva members ring the
bell at the shipping door and wait. After 15 minutes they get back in
the van and leave.
5PM At the Russian Tea Room
Keith Cameron, who has a public
identity, entered the Tea Room and demanded an explanation for why
Boris missed the meeting. At First Boris, concerned that he might be
wired, said that his people were there to see about buying equipment
for his restaurants.
Eventually, after Boris got a text on
his phone, he told Keith that he had a operative with x-ray vision
who saw the police in the warehouse.
Constable, aka Keith Cameron, returned
to the group and decided it was time to just destroy the Bratva in
little Odessa. He declared he would make them afraid, and if any of
them resurfaced he would beat them down again and again. He would
beat them down until they realized it was to costly to do ‘business’
in the area and just left.
Bear agreed, and less
enthusiastically, so did Lady Paper.
6PM Boris Antonov,
reputed gangland figure, was killed in the Russian Tea Room by
members of The Brooklyn Brigade.
Constable entered
the restaurant announcing that everyone who wasn't a member of the
Bratva needed to leave. Constable invited everyone else to stay and
enjoy the show. Eight of the sixteen patrons left, the remaining
stayed.
When Boris Antonov
tried to exit through the rear door Constable blasted him (15d6) the
knockback finished the job. Boris’ broken and bloody corpse was
propelled through a wall into the kitchen.
After Boris was
dead Constable and Bear, with some invisible help from Kismet’s ego
attacks, knocked out Super Bratva. Bear put her in a bear hug, then
Constable paralyzed her with a poison dart, and then they blasted and
crushed her until she passed out.
Constable then
erased the video tapes of the combat, tampering with evidence.
Paladin never
entered the restaurant, he directed traffic away from going in from
the outside to prevent as much collateral damage as possible.
Lady Paper knocked
one, maybe two, of Boris Antonov’s muscle unconscious.
After the assassination Constable got
Bear-s parent to identify two of the goons as ones who extorted money
from them. Constable promised that the power of the Bratva was broken
got other members of the neighborhood to identify the rest of them as
criminals who did the same thing to them.
Constable questioned Boris Antonov’s
remaining bodyguards and got the name of the next member of the
family who would most likely take control now that Boris was dead.
Yakim Grigorii Ignatiev.
PART took Super Bratva into custody as
a minor child with no known family. She is currently a ward of Child
Protective Services while next of kin are sought.
