(trained) Support Yes Yes Crimton Frugal Level 5 Grung Kensai Monk PP 12/+5 (Trained)  Melee DPS / Melee control Yes Yes Soap Alexandria Level 5 Half-Elf Oath of Devotion Paladin 19 / +1 untrained Tank Yes Eric Frank Level 3 Hill Dwarf Janissary Fighter 12/+2 wee little lvl 3 baby fighter In-game quest date:  Leaffall 24 Character level:  4+ Nadia, Aerfrey, Frugal and Alexandria are heading off to clear out the Basilisk Den approx 30miles ESE of Hope.  A few characters have been petrified in West Marches already so it would be great to get some stone-to-flesh potions on hand. There's also currently a bounty of 125g per Basilisk gall bladder, and the Mayor of Hope is offering 2,500gp to any group that can clear out the den.  Characters with blindsight/blind fighting, good con saves, blinding spells (they can't petrify us if they can's see us!) and mirror shields? (will viewing the Basilisks through a mirror, Clash of the Titans style, block petrification?) would be advantageous. Mounts aren't essential since we only have 30miles to travel but they will definitely help.
Look guys I got Frank McStank. He's a Level 3 Hill Dwarf Janissary Fighter. Got a PP of 12 with a Survival of +2. He can tag along if you all will have him.

I've just replaced the Monke quest in the timeline for this - so it's starting 24th Leaffall and is booked for 3 days (although I doubt it'll take that long) Unless there was a specific reason to start on 1st The Rotting?
I wasn't sure how long it would take to travel back to Hope etc but I'm happy for whatever you think
Travel time is (usually) factored into the time booked in the calendar - like this quest for example is booked for 3 days to cover time there AND back :)

After Action Report Party composition:  Aerfrey, Nadia, Frougal, Frank, Alexandria Mission: A) Locate Basilisk Den B) Obtain Basilisk gall bladders  C) (Secondary) Clear out the Basilisk Den Route Taken:  24 miles due West of Hope, then directly South to waterfall landmark. Pit cave descends 100ft into the den (rope required). Areas of Interest Various rock pools are located within the Den. Frougal discovered that one pool contained a submerged tunnel which led to a Basilisk nest. Recommend investigating all rock pools for more submerged tunnels. Enemy Contacts:   1 Basilisk - eliminated 3 Skull Drakes - 2 eliminated, 1 routed 1 Basilisk - eliminated 1 Basilisk - eliminated 1 Basilisk; 1 Sentient Cactus-like Plant (type unknown) - enemy observed but combat was not initiated.  Enemy Notes:   The canyon like tunnels of the Den provide excellent terrian for Skull Drakes to perform hit-and-run tactics. Party members who were unable to perform ranged attacks found it difficult to engage the Drakes. Skull Drakes have a necrotic breath attack which they prefer to use on enemies who are bunched up together. Anyone incapacitated by the breath attack is instantly killed. Isolated/lone victims are usually attacked with claws and teeth.  Basilisk petrification gaze appears to have a range of 30-60ft. Basilisks can be safely targeted for ranged attacks from 80+ ft. Casualties:  Frank - KIA (necrotic breath attack) Aerfrey - KIA (necrotic breath attack) Friendly Contacts: Vilkya, Palid Elf Ranger Gerald, Dwarf Warrior Mission Outcome:   A) Success B) Success  C) Pending Recommendations:  The Basilisk Den is easy to reach from Hope. Recommend returning to town for R&R. Superior mobility gave the Skulls Drakes a huge advantage over us which ended up costing two lives. Recommend all future party members are capable of performing sustained ranged attacks. Would also recommend looking into grappling/harpooning devices. Recommend bringing a rope ladder to descend the pit cave entrance. Personel Reflection:   We have collected enough gall bladders to revive Bronson and still have a few spare potions left over! Alexandria is delivering them to Brother Cadfael right now.  We rescued two inexperienced adventureres who had become trapped in the Den. I was surprised to learn that one of them was a Ranger. She should have known better than to venture beyond her abilities into such a dangerous place! Also, her accent annoys me. Like, really annoys me.  A lot.   ...so is that even her real accent? Does she really talk like that or is she just mocking me?
Hahahaha - love it!!
Wow Nadia getting salty
