The sound of Gorak’s drink hitting the rough woodwork of the table you both sit at brings you back to your senses. You both sit in “the Happy Cow”, One of Daggerford’s most popular taverns. “Ah so ya be look’n for work! Well Ol’Gorak’s happy to provide it, now with the current develop’n situation adventurer’s are in demand more than ever! Not without it’s dangers mind you but I’m sure ya’ll be fine! Ya look like ya can handle yourself afterall!” The portly muddy brown haired dwarf exclaims the copper in his beard glinting in the dim moonlight shining in through the window.  “What Situation?! Ya got coal in ya eyes?” the says the dwarf chuckling gergariously. “Ya not heard the rumours! They say a fell wind be about to fall upon the north! From the footsteps of Giants! Apparent’y they’ve been attack’n the mostly undefended towns of the north, got a merchant contact in waterdeep that’s clean’n house sell’n weapons to folk afraid of a comin’ war between the giants and us so called small folk. But one thing is certain somethin’ big’s abrew’n and I don’t like it..” he looks out of the window between the two of you, the blackened and overcast clouds barely visible revealed only by the moon’s light. Suddenly there is the crash of  thunder as the heaven’s open the rain splashing against the cobblestone outside and on the roofs of the buildings opposite the tavern. Gorak turns back too you.  ”Now, bout the job. I be hear’n that the town of Nightstone’s been hav’n some goblin trouble.. Should pay pretty well too, might even get ya an audience with Lady Velrosa she’d be the one pay’n ya. hav’n such a person owe ya a favour certainly has its benefits.” he smirks. “Now, if ya interested hang round the city should take me bout a week to find the rest of ya merry band, if it is goblin’s ya might wanna a few fellows with ya to help deal with em’. The scrawny things get everywhere and breed like.. Well goblins! Not that I reck’n ya’ll have any trouble, but it’s best ta go prepared.” The Game - To Fight Giants, You Must Be Giant. Ages ago, giants and dragons waged war across the Savage Frontier. These battles are long forgotten by the human civilizations of today, but ancient relics remain. And now the land shudders once more with the thunder of giant footsteps. Hill giants raid farms for food and livestock, as stone giants lay waste to settlements in their path. Frost giants plunder coastal towns, as fire giants gather slaves. Cloud giant castles drift across the sky, casting ominous shadows on the cities of the North. But no threat compares to the wrath of the storm giants. You, the small folk of the north must rise to the challenge, gather your strength and unlock the power of ancient runes to take the fight right to the giant’s doorsteps! In this Heroic Campaign you will adventurers fighting against the rising giant threat and attempting to unravel the mystery behind why the giants have suddenly begun attacking the Civilisations in the region of the Forgotten Realms known as The Savage Frontier. Along the way you’ll make many allies and enemies. And there will be opportunities for players to join many of the various factions that operate within that area. If there is interest I am happy to run the game with the Stronghold and Followers system by MCDM that allows the construction of different types of strongholds to protect the people of the North as well as providing the players with some unique abilities useful in their adventures. The Adventure path itself is expected to run from 1st to 11th level (but it is likely players might well be higher level at the end of the adventure.) Due to the adventure not being on a "Ticking clock" the players will have the opportunity to explore many of the forgotten and legendary locations in the Savage Frontier and while there is a "main quest" players are encouraged to venture off the beaten path to do what interests them! I'm very interested populating the world with interesting sandbox elements for the pcs to explore should they wish too.           Storm King Hekaton What you can expect / What you get for Playing/Paying: -  A campaign of heroic proportions as you fight off the giants invading the civilisation portion of the north. Where the PCs go from fledging adventures to powerful heroes in their own rights! The campaign does become quite sandboxy as the players advance the main plot, I do plan on putting that control in the player’s hands to explore interesting locations in the north. Including possibly utilising MCDM’s Stronghold and Followers ruleset if there is enough interest in such gameplay. - I’ll do my best to weave in player backstory elements, and add in customised elements that fit into the campaign to not only link into player backstories but provide our Heroes with fun opportunities for foiling vile schemes and exploring forgotten locations. In short while I am using a Written Adventure path I do plan on including customised elements to fit our unique group of heroes and indeed, the adventure path very much supports this style of gming. -The Ability for your character to be linked too and to join different factions all with their own Agendas and Needs operating in The Savage Frontier. - All the Benefits of a Pro Subscription, Dynamic lighting (On maps that aren’t too laggy.. There are some big maps in the Adventure path) and atmospheric music (Curated by me for specific scenes) through a discord bot. - Pretty maps, some custom made by me for the campaign. Although theater of the mind is used when appropriate. -  4 hour Sessions with a short 5 minute break as of yet the sessions day and time is not set in stone however I’d like to keep things to a regular schedule once a group is sorted. General Rules: No racism, sexism, homophobia and verbally attacking other players. One strike and thats it I’m pretty unforgiving when it comes to that stuff. Respect your other players! This goes for in and out of the game everyone’s here to have fun and in game You might be evil, but your evil to everyone but your allies. Try your best to be punctual everyone’s agreed to have a game at the same time. If your unable to attend, please do your best to let the group and more importantly me know atleast 24hrs before. If there aren’t enough players to run I’ll postpone the game until next week (with no charge obviously.) You must have a Stable internet and a Decent Microphone as we will be using for Discord for voice. And for communications in and out of character. You must be over the Age of 18. While the game shouldn’t contain many adult themes, I prefer running for mature players. If there any issues, criticism, questions please do dm me! I want everyone to have the best experience possible so if there is a problem please let me know! If you have any ideas also send them my way especially if its something that you’d like to see in the campaign that you think I might’ve missed. What I am looking for from Players: - Both new and Experienced players are welcome! - Players that are focused around having a good time around the table! - Players who are willing to make thematically appropriate characters who will have a great time becoming the heroes of the Savage Frontier! - Players who will work co-operatively with the rest of the party! - Players who don't go out of the way to optimise their character builds to an insane degree. I'm more interested in the character as a person than they're ability to put out 60 damage at level 2. About me and my style of Dming: Hello! My name is Martyn and I’ve been a fan of TTRPGs ever since I was introduced to them in University. Now I’m hooked. I’ve been playing them for 6 years and dming for 5 years, my games tend to be fairly roleplay heavy however that said I do have a love for combat and mechanics. I’ve run a lot of pathfinder and understand 5es rules. However sometimes the rules are a little dull. To this end I run my games with “Rule of Cool” while doing my best to preserve the mechanical balance. If there is a confusion on a ruling I will generally ask for the players opinions on how it should work, make a ruling and then move on. We can check it out after the game.  I will happily listen to criticism and feedback and will do my best to improve for the next time. I am not a voice actor but do some light theatrics in the way my characters sound and the way they talk. However I’m not the best at it, but I’ll try my best to portray the many interesting characters the pcs will come across! I have not run Storm king’s thunder before, but I am confident that having read the book I understand enough about the adventure module to be able to run it adeptly. And to add in my own content in the sandbox areas where necessary. I am less familiar with Forgotten Realms than Glorian as a setting so I may make a few lore mistakes none of which will likely matter in the long term. I for one am looking forward to learning lots about the Setting’s rich history in my prep time as well as with my players as they explore the Savage Frontier.  Payment Information: As I’ve said I am new to running Paid Games, so I will only be taking payment through paypal at least 24hrs after each session. If you aren’t satisfied with a session you don’t need to pay but you will not be allowed to continue to play. It goes without saying that hopefully we would be able to talk to each other before it came to that.  Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. For me this method of payment works really well, as if you come to the first session and aren’t satisfied with it then there are no hard feelings and you can just leave the game without issue. If the sheer size of heroism in this game interests click:  HERE  for the LFG posting.
