Give page settings a Perspective Grid option that allows you to use maps and art drawn with a perspective grid. This option also automatically resizes tokens when moved to the back of the grid.

There is isometric and one other grid format coming newly here soon. It's in testing right now on the Dev server (Pro users can login there and test it now). It does no have the feature you mentioned of resizing tokens as they move back. The new types of perspective grids so far are types designed to keep objects at the same size appearance top to bottom. So your Suggestion is still totally valid in-addition.
