We left our Adventurers having returned to Eaden where they met with the Emperor and returned the Heart Sphere, before heading off to a well-earned rest. We pick up in the morning, with the Party gathering at the Emperor's table for breakfast with him. Talk is had about their endeavours, their meeting with Dael and the Skeleton Lich, as well as finding out more information on where the realm is in relation to taking on Gareth's Stronghold. During the conversation, Catsi requests a place in Gogalla where her people can resettle and live in peace to which the Emperor replies he will talk with his advisers and let her know. Breakfast ends and the Emperor keeps his promise to include them in the questioning of Dael. Initially the Emperor asks his questions of Dael. In his defence, Dael insists that he was under the power of a spell that was placed on him by a witch. The spell compelled him to steal the Sphere and take it north to the Everlasting Peaks which is why he took the Sphere - he could not resist it. Understandably skeptical, the Party begin to question Dael - with the Emperor's blessing of course. Cal mentions the benefit of the Zone of Truth which the Emperor (or the DM really) realises he had not thought about and sends a soldier to get a mage. With the Mage appearing a short time later and the spell cast, Dael is asked a few more questions to test the legitimacy of his claims resulting in the Emperor showing some compassion and sentencing him to life in the fighting pit rather than execution. With the interrogation complete, the Emperor informs the group he has matters of the Realm to attend to and leaves the party to their own desires for the day. Tados takes the freedom of the day to perform in the open market. With high performance rolls, he ends his day with 92gp. Bardyn and Cal head for an Inn where they drink and discuss philosophy, religion, and their place in the world - well, Cal discusses; Bardyrn drinks. Naivara set off to find a book store where she purchased paper and ink, returning to her room afterward to copy and focus on two spells from the book she got from the ruined village on the road to Ensburn. Catsi headed back to the Royal Palace and requested the Emperor to allow Gomer the freedom to wander the city with her. With a CHA roll of 6, the Emperor allowed it but only with an escort. After wandering the city for a bit, talking about their homes and lands, they ended up at another Inn where they spent the afternoon drinking and talking. Lyllianes took Charlemaines from the stable for a walk through the city to give the bear some exercise and to spend some time with him. After a good walk they ended up in a park where they rested beneath the canopy of the park trees. Jett took the opportunity to connect with his contacts that he had recently established in Eaden. Curious about the information that Gomer was stealing that landed him in imprisonment for espionage, and who Gomer's buyer was, he asked his contacts to seek out the information for him and to update him on other information that they had been able to acquire. After this, he returned to the Palace to speak with Gomer, finding that he had left with Catsi. Instead, he met up with Naivara who was just leaving her room after learning her new spells. Entering a conversation with her he took the privacy of the moment to enquire where she had been in the weeks she had left the group. Trying to be as ambiguous as she could, Naivara replied that she was merely following some information that was important to her. Jett then asked her why she was in Primundu, away from her homeland - their homeland - to which she replied that she was seeing the world and trying to become a more powerful sorcerer. Here, Jett dropped a bombshell, asking if she was trying to do so in order to overthrow her father. With an INS roll of 16 against Naivara's CON roll of 15, Jett was able to notice a fleeting look of fear flash across the Elf maiden's face as she feared he had been sent by her father to take her home. Quickly assuring her that he was of the same mind as her, he nevertheless rose fear and suspicion in Naivara who vowed to never let him out of her sight. After their conversation, Jett headed for the Inn's to try find Gomer - with Naivara in close tow. Finally finding him with Catsi, he took Gomer aside to speak with him. Curious as ever, Catsi decided to try and stay close, rolling a Stealth 26 against Jett's PERC 14 roll, and secretly hid beneath the counter on the barkeep's side. Alone and away from the group, Jett asked Gomer about his prior occupation that landed him in trouble. Immediately, Gomer became fearful that he would get in trouble again when he was finally starting to regain his freedom. To reassure him that the exchange would be secret, Jett pulled out a pen and paper, and using illusionary script wrote to him that he could write down the information and no-one could see it other then the two of them. Asking what information he had stolen, Gomer hesitantly replied "The Realm's military and financial records", asking to whom he was selling the information to, Gomer replied "The Talon". However, that was all that Gomer was willing to share. Jett then told Gomer that once everything had been settled and if their request of Gomer being a free man at the end was agreed to, then Jett could offer him a job in his network, placing a piece of paper with his network information and a bag of 100gp on the table for Gomer at the same time. Reluctant to take the money, fearing that he would be embroiled in espionage again, Gomer declined where Jett told him to take the money and think about it - no strings attached. After confirming that he could take the money and still say no, he took the pouch and piece of paper, placing them in his coat. As the daylight grew dark, they all returned to the Palace where they met with the Emperor again for dinner before heading to their rooms for the night.
