Mapping help

I am about to start a 3.5 campaign. I am using the hex grid for the world map only, where each hex is equal to 10 miles. Is there a way to key specific or all hexes to kind of open up into its own mini "world/hex" and each "square/hex" is either a mile or footage or something and show whats in that area. Im not knowledgeable on how to macro or code, and i just wanted to poke a bit of the hive mind and see if its something that can be possible. I appreciate any and all help, or questions, etc.
Put a pin and name each hex a specific mapname and then store all of your zoom in maps in another session with the same naming scheme, when the players elect to go down to ground level in said hex, transmog the map over and move them to it.  If you stored 100 battlemaps in your session that would be very cluttered and take forever to load.
What do you mean by storing them in another session? or transmog? I'm sorry, but im not super versed in mappingor utilizing roll20 to its best capacity.

The Transmogrifier is a perk you have access to as a Pro user. It allows you to move characters, pages, tables, handouts and more from game to game. What DM Eddie is saying is that you can keep your game size manageable by keeping all of your zoomed in maps in a separate campaign, and just bring them in as you need them. It keeps your game lean. As for your original question, there is no good mechanism like an on-screen button. There are ways that you can give players the ability to move between maps (The MapChange script is a good one). The page change can be triggered by a macro, so you could create a  Chat Menu  that gives players a list of sub-maps they can access.
