Player / GM : Rating System (AKA Karma for Players)

Generally I end up with a few not so great players. With the disparity of players to GMs I think screening players in some way would make the job of sorting out 20+ applications that much easier.  ------ Maybe virtual badges we could award one another. Examples : Good Listener, Great Roleplayer, Friend Material, Rule Companion, Never Tardy They could then be broken out in tiers that show on our profiles. Paper Tier : One - Five Badges Bronze Tier : Six - Twenty-five Badges Silver Tier : Twenty-six -Sevety-five Badges Gold Tier: Seventy-six Badges AND Beyond I would imagine people would try and game the system so I'm thinking limiting the badges a person can give out per week. Also, as an incentive to play with multiple people, cap the amount of times you can gift a badge to the same player.
This doesn't really seem to be a great idea.  It encourages jumping as the rule after getting some badges in a game.

I think there are a lot of players that deserve a better gaming experience. I'd say you could also use this to screen a GM who has little experience, aka high risk, as so many games fail to even have three sessions before they fall apart. I don't think saying, "this would happen," without a why is very constructive.
It's been asked a few times and always met with the same answer. A person rating system is not a good idea. It opens a hole for people to exploit It's useless to new users It's inherently exclusionary
Badges? We ain't got no badges! We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinking badges!
