Envy and the Outcasts returned to the necromancer Haliss Cost in search of the information that would lead them to the vampire Lady Furnau. As in the past, Haliss was able to fill in the gaps for the companions. She identified that there was a Manifest Zone connected to Mabarra, the Realm of Darkness, about a day's journey into the jungle to the south. What was more, a convergence of the planes was beginning in the next three nights that would bring Mabarra closer to Eberron than it had for five years. The Outcasts had their heading. Traversing the jungle, the Outcasts encountered some of its deadly denizens. Two creatures that were mirror images of each other--an Absorber and a Reflector--assaulted the group. The creatures were immune to both necrotic and radiant damage, leaving Twitch, for one, at something of a loss. Nevertheless, the Outcasts overcame the creatures' unique challenges and continued their journey. Deeper still into the jungle, two Formorian giants turned their evil eyes against the Outcasts; and while taking damage and burning spells, once again the Outcasts prevailed. In the heart of the jungle, darkness ruled. Within a grove that radiated extra-planar power, the group found Lady Furnau surrounded by a circle of wolves that appeared to obey her will. With a cruel, satisfied look, Lady Furnau welcomed Lukar and the others, as if she had both anticipated and desired their presence. Darkness was ever the Outcasts' comfort and solace. But now it was the companions' task to defeat the forces of darkness before they overwhelmed Eberron.
