Welcome! My name is Dan, and I'm going to be hosting a beginners' adventure for Dungeons & Dragons (5E) called Dragon of Icespire Peak . This adventure comes with the D&D Essentials Kit, and is perfect for new players, and new Dungeon Masters (DMs)! About Me I am new to D&D, and this will be the first time I have been a DM. I have played a few virtual sessions, read through various rulebooks (including the Player's Handbook and the Dungeon Master's Guide), and watched numerous tutorial videos online. I am 29 years old, based in the UK, and my availability for D&D is Wednesday and Sunday evenings, from 8pm (GMT). I am a very relaxed person, who will get on well with anyone, so long as they are respectful of others. About the Group I am looking to establish a group of similarly new players . I want us to be able to learn D&D together, in a comfortable, relaxed environment. For that reason, I will only be taking on 3 players . I want to keep the group small, so nobody is overwhelmed, we can all take our time to understand what is going on and learn the rules, and each player has plenty of opportunity to play. The group dynamic is very important to me, so I will have a chat with each potential player prior to inviting them to join the game, to ensure a positive group chemistry. I will be looking for relaxed and respectful players, looking to learn the game, get to know a few other new players, and above all - have fun! We will start with the Dragon of Icespire Peak adventure, with the possibility to venture on to further adventures afterward, should the players wish to. This starting adventure will take your characters from level 1 through to level 6. You will be able to create these characters within Roll20, using the Charactermancer, and I will be available to help and support the character creation process. About the Campaign The Forgotten Realms The world of the Forgotten Realms is one of high fantasy, populated by elves, dwarves, halflings, humans and other folk. In the Realms, knights dare the crypts of the fallen dwarf kings of Delzoun, seeking glory and treasure. Rogues prowl the dark alleyways of teeming cities such as Neverwinter and Baldur's Gate. Clerics in the service of gods wield mace and spell, questing against the terrifying powers that threaten the land. Wizards plunder the ruins of the fallen Netherese empire, delving into secrets too dark for the light of day. Bards sing of kings, queens, heroes, and tyrants who died long ago. On the roads and rivers of the Realms travel minstrels and peddlers, merchants and guards, soldiers and sailors. Steel-hearted adventurers from backcountry farmsteads and sleepy villages follow tales of strange, glorious, faraway places. Good maps and clear trails can take even an inexperienced youth with dreams of glory far across the world, but these paths are never safe. Fell magic and deadly monsters are the perils one faces when traveling in the Realms. Even farms and freeholds within a day’s walk of a city can fall prey to monsters, and no place is safe from the sudden wrath of a dragon. Phandalin The frontier town of Phandalin is built on the ruins of a much older settlement. Hundreds of years ago, the old Phandalin was a thriving human town whose people were firmly allied with neighboring dwarves and gnomes. Then an orc horde swept through the area and laid waste to the settlement, and Phandalin was abandoned for centuries. In the last three or four years, settlers from the cities of Neverwinter and Waterdeep have begun the hard work of reclaiming the ruins of Phandalin. The new settlement is home now to farmers, woodcutters, fur traders, and prospectors drawn by stories of gold and platinum in the foothills of the Sword Mountains. The arrival of a white dragon threatens to destroy all that they've worked to rebuild. This is where our adventure begins. About the schedule As per my availability, sessions will be run on either a Wednesday or Sunday evening (UK time). That is 8pm GMT onwards. Sessions are likely to last 3-4 hours. We will start with a Session 0 , during which we can discuss and finalise character creation, introduce ourselves and our characters, and establish some house rules and expectations within our group. Session 0 will be scheduled for sometime in the next month or so, depending on the group's availability. What next? If you are interested in joining, or you want to know more, then reply below, or message me your Discord so we can connect.
Hi Dan, I'm Termi and I'd be interested in joining! I'm pretty new to everything so I was super glad I came across your post.

Hello Dan! I'm not super new to DnD, but I haven't participated in very many games and I don't have very much play time experience. If there are any open slots after you found some beginners, if you would have me, I would love to join you! I could definitely do Sundays too!
If you play this on Wednesday, I'd be down to accompany. Been GMing for a while, I'm looking to actually relearn the game as a player. I'm not the ''new player'' archetype but I'd like to tag along the ride to help everybody learn (including myself). I would love to join your adventure as a filler character that wants to support a group of 3. I like sharing the spotlight with others as a GM. I don't want to overshadow an actual beginner to the system, but I haven't played in a while in an actual group (only did sporadic one-shots, always been GMing basically, I still am). To be able to sit down for once and just be a player, would be a premiere for me in 5th edition. I can commit on Wednesday, Saturday would be harder.
Hi Dan! I am new to D&D but I do have some characters prepared I hope there is a place for me in the group, looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi Dan! I'm Sam and I'd definitely be interested in joining if you'll have me! While this wouldn't be my first campaign, I'm still pretty brand spanking new to d&d. I have picked some stuff up from online by watching pod casts and things of the like, and would love to implement them as well as role play too. I'm off on Wednesdays, so wednesdays would work wonderfully for me, Sundays might be a little harder for me though. I look forward to hearing from you if you do decide to choose me for your campaign! Thank you for your time!
Hi Dan! I am just now seeing this, but feel your group setting would be perfect for me and my friend and fiance. she has never played before and he and i are somewhat familiar with the game (idk what his skill is as i have never played with him). I am asking them if they are interested but we would definitely love to participate!
