Interact with Map while viewing Dynamic Lighting

Purchased the DMM Roll20 module that has some great dynamic lighting built in to it but lackluster maps. I found some great color maps that i would like to switch out but have trouble adjusting their size to fit the dynamic lighting.   Is there a way to move the map around while also being able to see the dynamic lighting lines? P.S. I get that it helps with performance to have "lackluster" maps on DMM

Actually, the map choice is entirely dependent on Wizards of the Coast, who don't always design with VTT use in mind. You could put the new map on the DL layer, but it might be hard to manipulate without accidentally grabbing DL lines. If you can get that to work, then you can just right click and send the graphic to the map layer once it is aligned.

You might try putting them on the GM layer instead and try to line them up to the map below.  Being on the GM layer will make them transparent (and you can adjust the transparency), which will make it easier to get it just right in regards to the map, which should make it correct for the DL as well. Alternatively, I could write a script that would move all the DL lines to the GM layer so you could see them (or perhaps duplicate them there, with an option to clear them afterwards).  Really, putting them on the object layer and manipulating the new map on the GM layer would let you see the map and the DL lines at the same time for your alignment purposes, which might be the best possible option.
Here's my standard 'aligning maps' walkthrough steps: Make sure the map image is on the map layer Make sure the map image is set as a ‘drawing’ (right click on the image) Make sure the Roll20 grid is nice and visible - adjust the color to red and turn the transparency up to like 100% Use the ‘align to grid’ feature to get the size close (optional) Move the top left grid on the map image to align with the Roll20 grid Stretch the map image horizontally to the right to align the grid. You may have to repeat 5&6 a couple times Stretch the map image vertically down to align to the Roll20 grid Turn the grid color back to whatever you want (light grey and more transparent, or just off if the map image has grid lines already) If you really want to keep the dynamic lighting lines that are included, I would suggest instead moving the map image to the DL layer, and then right clicking and moving it 'to the back' to ensure that all the DL lines are in front (I think they will be... but just in case). However, in my experience it's far easier to simply redraw DL lines for new custom maps.  Often they are just enough different from the module maps that lines simply won't line up the way you want them to.  I would suggest using the ' Fine tune snap to grid ' Innovative Trick by Ziechael to make it easier on yourself. If you change the grid measurement to .25, then it's quite easy to still align to the regular grid lines.
