Uploading gifs to game detail pages

As the title suggests, I am unable to make a gif image animate on a game detail page, even though gif formats are allowed. I have been testing these images with this little mole who's head should bob up and down by 1 frame. I chose a small image so it wouldn't be too difficult for roll20 As seen above, This is how the game page appears, despite having an animated gif file uploaded into the game detail page, it doesn't animate. Any reason for this? If there is any luck, I'm really hoping it's not a case of "Although we allow .gif file images, we don't have any support for gifs to which, we allow file uploads for.

FWIW, gif animations don't work in private messages, either, only static ones. There are probably reasons, but...???

Does this work? Try removing any extra info after the file extension in the URL. change this ( https://s3.amazonaws.com/files.d20.io/images/255776632/ewvIzrEHVOq5gVM3wUG6Xg/original.gif?1636972611 ) to simply ( https://s3.amazonaws.com/files.d20.io/images/255776632/ewvIzrEHVOq5gVM3wUG6Xg/original.gif ) Also, I often post animated gifs to a "fake" game's forum and grab the link that roll20 creates for the image when posting to the public forums. I think this would work for private messages as well... Cheers

Cheers Hey vince! This does work which is awesome but the goal is to have the little mole bounce in a game details page. When your looking to join a game, this should be the image of the campaign your about to join. That's the part i'm interested in solving because I cannot add a link in there, it has to be a file.

this happens over on Twitter, must be some work-around or grandfathered in, because about 0.01% of profiles have an Animated avatar that actually animates as you scroll their site. haven't even seen any kind of animation/motion working on Game Details here. GIF 'support' was added only a couple years ago on parts of Roll20 site, and, correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that GIF uploads to the VTT are converted to a webm / webp file format upon upload. Haven't seen a webm/webp in Game Details tho, I guess it would be a Suggestion to ask for that feature.

Game detail pages only allow jpg, png, gif files and while they allow the gif file, they cannot animate it on a game details page. Shame, feels like they'd just keep the gif format out if you carn't animate the gif image.
