The Amazing Adventures of Gimble Nimblehands: The Korthos Saga: Sacrifices Party: Gimble - Leader, superior intellect, total package of skill and modesty, there’s no ‘I” in team but there is one in “Gimble”… Uriel - Still unable to work out how he does that time manipulation thingy… Hector Mullens - Does he even own a shirt? Gus Rotgut - Decent sort… you know.. for a goblin… Ghargh - my loveable, faithful companion (seems to have done well for himself while I’ve been down here in Korthos?) Sir Fluffy Bob Dearest reader… when last we left our intrepid hero and his minions, Gimble Nimblehands had singlehandedly* saved the town of Korthos. Prompting many people to insist on renaming the place Gimbletown. While some seemed to take time to get used to this name change (and inevitable statue of the amazing one), there was to be no rest! Foul sahuagin had stolen away with captives from the village while Gimble (and friends) were distracted, defending the docks… As Gimble gathered his forces to pursue the dastardly shark cult, he was happy with the resources available! Mighty Ghargh was shouldering his giant weapon and tending to Sir Fluffy Bob, Uriel the drow time wizard continued to add some intelligence (although obviously not quite as brilliant as Gimble’s mind of course), the sweaty, shirtless form of Hector Mullens flexed in anticipation, and the cheery goblin. Guz Rotgut, seemed to have already spotted the trail! Setting off, the group made good progress down the coastline of a lovely picturesque cove. A fork in the road gave brief pause until Guz determined the tracks continued to the East. As they followed these, Gimble noticed some sort of metal pipe out in the water that was emitting gouts of steam. Deciding that there were more pressing matters, they pushed on until they were beset by three monstrous crab type beasts. Despite dealing fairly effectively with them, Hector in particular seemed a little worse for wear and so they settled in for the night. Setting up camp under the boughs of a small tree and sheltered by bushes to try and reduce the visibility from any ocean dwelling fiends! However, danger came from a different source as a giant bear sprung on the party in the middle of the night! Somehow it seemed to be drawn towards our might hero but as it prepared to try and attack Gimble, it somehow woke Ghargh… (who, dear reader, is definitely NOT a “morning” person)… flying into a blind rage, Ghargh began swinging at everything in range! As everyone retreated to a safe distance (from Ghargh at least), Hector and Ghargh (the latter nudged towards the bear in their blind rage) soon overwhelmed the bear although it had taken quite a toll on the shirtless wonder! The following morning, the group continued along the coast and soon found a series of mini islands which all bore tridents placed as if marking territory… the tracks appeared to lead to the base of the cliffs and it seemed clear there was an underwater tunnel to be explored. There then followed much debate about the next steps for the party, despite the intelligent reasonings of Gimble and Uriel that the tunnel must surface into air as otherwise, why keep prisoners alive this long only to drown them? In the end, the group readied themselves to explore and Uriel, Guz, and Hector dove into the water. As soon as they did though, three sahuagin cads appeared and attacked! Seemingly stunned into indecision, Ghargh hurled javelins from the cliff top while the 3 hapless swimmers were outmatched by their aquatically inclined foes. Soon, Guz lay motionless, torn in half by one of the villains, and Hector barely clung to life. Uriel barely managed to escape towards the shoreline before his spellcasting and Gimble’s firepower managed to see off the sahuagin menace. With Ghargh still terrified of the water, Gimble dove into the water to rescue Hector but there was nothing that could be done for poor Guz. Gimble dragged the poor goblin’s body to shore and the group headed dejectedly back to Korthos… *may not be singlehanded
