Zoom keyboard shortcut

I read in the help doc that there is a keyboard shortcut for zoom.  It's ALT-Mouse Wheel. However this does not work on my computer.  Actually, hold down ALT while scrolling the mouse wheel doesn't seem to do anything at all.  Has anyone else experienced this, or does it work correctly for you?  Any ideas what I might do to get it to work.  I'm constantly changing the zoom on my maps. Thanks.

Does your computer do anything when the scroll wheel is used in other programs?

Yes, works as expected on pages.  Scrolls up and down. Holding down SHIFT while scrolling move backwards and forwards through websites (like the back button).  Holding Alt while scrolling pages doesn't seem to do anything special, just scrolls pages normally.

It works on mine. There is a severe lag say about 3 to 5 seconds but it works. I have windows 7 and use chrome 25.

Thanks.  I usually use Firefox, but I tried it on Chrome and it works perfectly. A little lag but not bad.  Looks like Firefix is the cuplrit! Guess I'll use Chrome for the game!
