Hi

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm looking to play an EBist. What are the current characters in the game?
Welcome. What's an EBist?
I think that is an Energy Blast-ist.
Never heard the term of EBist, like martial artist. The EB (energy blast). The term has been around since at least 3rd edition. That was my first game, back in 1988 while stationed at Fort Hood in Texas
Spent a month at Ft Hood for PLDC. As for other characters powers-wise: Paladin: Punches the snot out of bad guys. Team leader. Kismet: Psyker, team medic, and commo specialist. Lady Paper: Magneto except with paper.
Welcome aboard Ex-Navy here, but is that almost like the military, right? I am the other new guy, Inspector Noir, a darkness themed mentalist, and officially statted up.
Never thought of LP as a paper Magneto but I like it
Would you rather we say she folds under pressure?
Andrew, I went to PLDC there in 1989. I was in from 1986 - 1990. Got out and went back in to the army in 2004. They made me repeat basic training because they said I was out too long. Then 6 months later they came out with a 2 week re-initiation training for prior service. I was pissed. Tried to get my records of my PLDC from Fort Hood, they told me that all of the old documents were destroyed years ago. So, I had to repeat that also.
I went in 99 I think. Waste of time as is BNCOC and ANCOC. You are either qualified to be an NCO at that point or not. Hopefully in the Navy they're smarter about it.
The NCO's that were in went I went back into the army were not as good as they used to be. A lot of immature people that were only worried about themselves. The few that were decent ones, but they got beat down by dumb ones.
It is a shame when mediocrity destroys positive potential. I've never served but, If I'm reading this right, a parallel in the US congress.

/Rant On/ Meh, sounds like the same as the Navy. The one thing I remember from my leadership classes in late 80's was that they said "Mental illness is a choice." After I heard that, I pretty much stopped listening. As was said, there were a lot of good people, and a few dangerous idiots, but all it takes is a few. /Rant Off/ Back to fantasy, I am looking forward to the 12th. Looks like we have an interesting team. Stuart, what kind of EBer were you looking at? I remember someone saying there that is a tech niche open.
Are you guys interested in using discord for a repository page. you can upload pdfs, pics and whatever. Gene, I know you said you tried using discord for the actual game play, but what about fot out of game stuff?
I was unaware that discord could be used as a repository. Talk me through the how's and why's please.

https://discord.gg/YzNEQePB I made a discord server. I posted my character hdc file there. Anyone can get it and it can be talked (text or voice chat)about in real time instead of posts here.
I resurrected my old discord account. Mind you I have no idea how to use it effectively.
Phil F. said: Welcome aboard Ex-Navy here, but is that almost like the military, right? I am the other new guy, Inspector Noir, a darkness themed mentalist, and officially statted up. Yarr Harr, me hearty!
First off, Yarr! Secondly, I was thinking about mentioning Discord as well. Its voice/video functionality beats ROLL20 hands down, IMHO. No background music, most GM use ROLL20 for that. (Some are big on background music, but personally I find it distracting, ) Discord is pretty straightforward. You can create categories and sub-categories (IE channels) like in a forum (right click down arrow next to server name, and control the rights as to who can post (So you can have a GM only thread for GM commentary and world background. Just right click gear icon next to o channel name>Edit Channel>Permissions) and pin posts. Posting picture is drag and drop and you can post video by pasting the URL. Oh, and click the blue "Invite People" and post the invite URL here so we can join your server!
Phil, There is a discord server, see above. If the group wants to keep it. Then I will set Gene as the group owner.
