QUEST: The Flayed Man II: Revenge of the Corridor (Level 2+) - 17th Feb 00:00 Pacific / 03:00 Eastern / 08:00 UK / 12:00 Georgia / 18:00 Brisbane / 19:00 Sydney

After  Rofir  had returned from his visit to Strade's Gallows with the flayed remains of a dead man, his wife Millivent had recognized this as the skin of her beloved husband and begged the mayor for help.  The man and their three children were kidnapped by goblin marauders less than a week ago, and while it appears her husband met a grisly end at the hands of bullywugs, she had implored adventurers to go out and rescue her missing children. Moved by her plight,  Sir Quincy Penfold  offered a reward of 750 gold pieces to the group that could track down the goblins, infiltrate their lair, and bring out the missing family... Previously on Flayed Man ...  An intrepid party ventured out and overcame the deadly corridor to return with a couple of goblin prisoners but they have revealed the goblin king and his pet cat are served by many guards and there's also a goblin wizard (friends of a mysterious "hood man") on site too. Reggie is calling for brave souls to venture back out and rescue the kids (before they have to fight a bear apparently) and maybe uncover the mystery of this hooded man and his "flying snake" tattoo! We just need to improve on our line dancing to deal with all those corridors!   I swear they're at least CR2 challenge by themselves...
Depending on when this gets scheduled for, Q'aarn would like to continue charging headfirst down dark corridors (I HAVE DARKVISION) and setting off traps.  Plus he has a pretty cool spell he'd like to use ahead of alerting the drunk goblins in the basement.
Meth has decided to learn the Darkvision spell so they will also be able to see in the dark.  No more of the bloody annoying lantern!
What do people think about the 14th Jan for this? There's an 8am UK slot we could use?
I could do that
That's a Friday evening for me so no can do.   Feel free to press on without me, however.
I could make that date. Hopefully Ryck is free, will check in later
NEW DATE (proposed)  17th of February 19:00 AEST / 08:00 UK time
Works for me!
I can bring either Isaa or Xhadahn to this  Xhadahn will be lvl 4 once I post his Blazing Saddles write up... Player Character Class Race Level Passive Perception Survival Modifier (Trained? Yes/No) Isaa Open Hand Monk Ghostwise Halfling 4 15 +3 Untrained Xhadahn Circle Moon Druid Githzerai 3 15 +5 Trained
Combat ability and mobility both useful when battling corridors.  I think either option would be great but perhaps Isaa slightly better suited...
Issa it is!
Actually, forgive me.  Looking at the party balance we have virtually no healing which means Xadahn would be better.  Sorry for the bum steer!
All good!
Sorry folks hadn't spotted the change of time to this, I will have to back out apologies.
Oh man I'd play but Ulag's on a different quest :( Could I start a new character and join, or do the participants need to be level 3 and up to qualify?

It would be a tough quest for a level 1 frontliner, but somebody who hides at the back and attacks from range might fair better.
I think this needs updating, Soap?
Yeah, confusing as to who is still in for this.   My best guess is: Reggie Meth Drift Isaa/Xhadaan Maybe Q'aarn? (I think Dani expressed interest before the date change)
Updated - we're a little light at present...

Paid yesterday (forgot to post it !)
The Flayed Man II: The way of all fleshbags   As told by Meth   There is no way to prevaricate on this. I’m a cat!  I’ve been turned into a f$%cking cat! As a professional time wizard I should stick to a strict chronology for this narrative but I can’t do it! We were camped by the roadside near the Green Mausoleum when we were attacked by a gigantic black pudding.  A pudding that a slack jawed itinerant druid called Limwick was meant to have dealt with but didn’t. The battle was dangerous with half of the meat bags (oh the irony!) still asleep and Siberius the tiger man bearing the brunt of the fighting.  The pudding oozed over to be next to me so I struck it with a shocking grasp . Unfortunately all this did was trigger the onset of parthogenesis and where there was one pudding, suddenly there were two!  I attempted to retreat but was struck a mighty blow and knew no more. When I awaked it was to see the leering face of Dimwit the druid leaning over me.  Imagine my extreme consternation when the arm I used to push it away was covered in fur!  I looked all over and realised the nightmare was true.  I was a cat!  My beautiful crystalline form had been replaced with a hairy, furry, farting, bleeding, piss-shitting bag of flesh! The horror!  Even worse I was cut off completely from the great mother shard.  No longer could I commune with the hive mind, I had ceased to be a crystalkin in any way.  I collapsed to the ground, trying to process the change when the dastardly druid beat a hasty retreat, the useless half shelled ooze chaser.  I was about to pursue it when a sudden compulsion had me bending over and licking my own anus.  That was my introduction to the sensation of taste.  AAAARHGHHHH! My companions tried to provide comfort but new indignity was heaped on new indignity.  When I saw the shards of crystal that was all that remained of my final body, I was compelled to rake at the remains and then crouch over them in an undignified fashion.  Somehow the ‘crystal litter’ spoke to my body on a primal level I could not ignore. I can’t continue in this vein but suffice to say the horror of my transformation was far from over.  Still, we were in the dangerous West Marches and our mission to rescue the children was still present.  I took stock of my condition. I was less intelligent, that went without saying when joining the ranks of the meat puppets.  I was taller and faster, however.  I judged that I was of the Pantherine species of the Tabaxi genus, a particularly sleek, sexy and charismatic member of the family. Shards!  Did I actually write that? We pressed on and made it to the outside of the goblin lair, now overrun by dragon cultists according to Reginald T Tealeaf’s intelligence gathering.  Aside from the ghostwise halfing, there was also Siberius the tiger-man (oh, no longer can I feel superior to such a ridiculous juxtaposition), Maple a dashing pixie warrior and the formidable Xhadahn, a druid able to transform into many types of deadly animal.  We attempted a stealthy entry into the lair but were too noisy to achieve surprise.  Reggie discovered some dragon cultists and battle was soon joined.  I’ll confess my reduced intelligence was a hindrance for my noisy shatter spell no doubt alerted the entire complex.  We defeated the half dozen foes including a powerful spellcaster who countered one of my spells.  We pressed on, sending Reggie ahead again.  Unfortunately he triggered a trap that brought a heap of stones onto his head, nearly killing him.  This also alerted a roomful of kobolds to our presence. We joined battle as best we could but yet again, the corridors proved our greatest enemy.   Xhadahn hung back, reluctant to enter the room alone but this exposed brave Siberius to a storm of kobold attacks.   Eventually we all managed to join the fray but it was a close fought affair with Maple, Siberius and Reginald brought low at various stages.  Somehow the kobolds were defeated by a combination of my spells, Reggie’s firebombs and the martial prowess of the others. We gathered together some goods but were too depleted to continue the adventure, electing to return to Hope.  I am there now, trying to adjust to my horrible new reality.  Still, I have learned much from my experience and have succeeded in restoring my mental faculties to what they were.  I feel I must set out into the West Marches soon, for I still have much to learn and can’t spend the rest of my likely short life hoicking up furballs.
