As a reward for their selfless rescue of slaves in the captivity of ogres, the would-be explorers of Lull have been given a potentially lucrative rumour about a source of power in the Harrowmere. If the freed captives are to be believed, a piece of a falling star fell into the area north of Strade's Gallows recently. Who knows what kind of rare and valuable materials might have come to earth with the falling star? Borin is 100% interested in this. No mount (Longhorn is dead), no money for a replacement, and half speed will almost certainly endear him even more to his fellow party members... Although he can still carry a lot!
Borin now has an Aurochs again! Longhorn 2 (or just Boogaloo...) will help with travel (although Borin is still at half speed until he gets at least one more rest...)
Glarung now to only one level of fatigue and has a riding horse (Buick). still keen for this.

Gonna sign Nads up to this one. She has a mount but also has  lvl 4 exhaustion so unable to maintain normal travel pace. Let me know if this is a deal breaker. Nadia very welcome!   Happy for the group to move a bit more slowly.  I think Borin is in the same boad. Also welcome Narc and good luck!

Elf Mage encountered at the Falling Star. Motives unknown. Recommend proceed with caution.   Personal Notes: We had only travelled about 12 miles from Hope when we came across two injured villagers fleeing from giant spiders. They told us that most of their group had been dragged to a nearby cave. Heading north we located the entrace and engaged the spiders. We rescued as many as we could but some had already been cocooned and eaten.  During our first night out our campsite was approached by a group of Dragon Cultist. I'd heard of other groups being shaken down by these thugs in the past and sure enough they demanded tribute for passing through "their lands". Working on a hunch, I told them that we were on our way to attack Ragemaw's lair and suggested that allowing us to kill one of their enemies was in their best interest. When they started questioning me about this my words began to falter, however my companions quickly jumped in and helped me sell the lie. Convinced that we we telling the truth, they left us alone.  Upon locating the Falling Star we rescued an Elven mage who was being attacked by two demonic boars. What was he doing alone in this place?
Rumour Has it part 1:  adventures of the Slumber Party as told by Glaurung the Golden   Sune's blessings on you all!    After returning from our quest to find horses for Hope, Borin and I had the good fortune of running into Gigi and Larry, our comrades in arms from Lull.  There was nothing for it but to follow up on the rumour of a fallen star relayed to us by the refugees we rescued from the Ogres some time ago.  We hoped that Burglekutt could join us but there was no sign of the sweaty fellow.  Rumour has it he was busy investigating the filthy sewers beneath Hope.  Mindful of our struggles in Lull, we instead looked to recruit some fighting muscle and here we were in luck.   Joining us were Nadia, a mighty ranger of renown (having recently toured the insides of a Froghemoth) and a powerful lizardfolk called Narc. Our destination was Strade’s Gallows, which excited me for I had yet to travel West in my adventures on the Savage Frontier. It was bitterly cold when we set out but fortunately we had a road to follow and Larry did a splendid job of keeping us on track.   Some time in the afternoon, however, we came across a pair of refugees, a mother and son.   They told a harrowing tale of being waylaid by spiders and indeed the venerable mother was suffering the lingering effects of a bite.  Always the first to act in the face of need, Borin swiftly healed the good woman and we obtained direction to the nearby cave said to be infested by the wicked spiders.   As we set off I couldn’t help but remark on our party’s facility for finding lost and needy people out in the wilderness. We snuck into the cave of the spiders, hoping they hadn’t slain all the travellers.  Out stealth was rewarded with us surprising a blue glowing spider as it was wrapping up its prey.   We struck with spells and arrows, doing it some hurt when suddenly we were swarmed by a veritable army of giant spiders.   I was enveloped in webs as was poor Larry.   When Narc went to assist Larry he was overcome by three of the great beasts.  I too was under similar assault though I slew a couple of them by calling on my draconic heritage to breath fire on them (did I mention my Grandmother was a Gold Dragon per chance?). The creatures were beings of cold and soon most of us were shivering from the freezing webs.  Gigi’s Aledritch blasts were of great help for though they were resistant to cold, they became drunk from the arcane booze blasts.  Meanwhile Nadia strode among us like a war goddess of old, slaying spider after spider with either her arrows or a strange blade she referred to as The Bhuj.  Borin pulled Narc back from the brink of death and ultimately we prevailed.  We found four refugees still alive though many more dead including Sir Percy, a paladin of some renown.  His items, however, were of use to the living and soon Borin was equipped in Platemail while Nadia boasted a magical sword of lightning.  Well deserved if you ask me. We set the refugees on the road and provided some coin for a hot meal at the Stuck Pig and continued on our way. That night our slumbers were interrupted by Dragon Cultists.  For a while it looked like we might come to blows but silver tongued Larry convinced them our mission was the destruction of Ragemaw, which suited the creepy little undead dragon worshippers to a tee. The next day we made excellent progress on the road and by pushing ourselves extra hard we reached the shelter of Strade’s Gallows.  There is much strange going on in that town but I confess I wasn’t too interesting being still exhausted from my recent adventures.  It was a relieve to sleep in real beds and the respite did much to restore the health of Borin and Nadia. The next morning we decided to turn our back on the mysteries of grave digging children (perhaps another party from Hope can attend to that matter) and continue North on our quest.   We hired a boat for a river crossing and then began to quarter the wilderness, seeking the fallen star. As we were closing in our quarry a foreboding mist began to surround us and then we saw a odd looking wizard running in our direction.  Following behind in short order were two enormous boar fiends.  We fired some spells and arrows but then they were upon us and wrecked fearful harm on Nadia and poor Narc, who yet again was sorely beset.  The lizardfolk did the best he could, lashing out with his weapons and even taking a nibble from one of the beasts.  Meanwhile Nadia plied bow and bhuj in equal measure while I fired great bolts of fire and Gigi made free play with magic missiles.  Larry also chimed in with some deadly necromantic blasts and ultimately both beasts were slain, though some of us bore the mark of their battle prowess.    Here we took pause to meet with the wizard and hopefully learn of the mysterious fallen star.   May Sune shine her beatific countenance on you all!
From the Journal of Borin Grimhammer Ah dinnae ken whether Ah'm coming or going at the moment. The hurried escape from lull and the whispered promises of some answers leave me questioning much. although lathander's blessing are surely watching over the good Larry who seems to be returned with no ill effects!  The honourable glaurung reminded me of the "slaves" we rescued who talked aboot a fallen star north of strade's gallows. the name rings a bell for me, ah reckon we were semi neighbours when I was over at the forge (still cannae remember why they call it borin's folly). Catching up "Lucky" Larry and the ever cheerful Gigi, we also managed to persuade the tough nadia and vocally challenged lizardfolk narc.  we made slow progress at first. both nadia and i were barely able to keep oorselves awake as we trudged through the cold. The others seem miserable but ah dinnae mind it... until i was woken from my exhausted stumbling by the sight of a couple of huddled figures coming towards us. a woman and her child! As ah tended to the woman's wounds (including a nasty infected spider bite), the wee laddie recounted a story of several companions captured and being eaten by spiders. with no time to waste we set off to rescue them! Coming across a cave entrance, we snuck forward. Spotting a giant spider doing its business, some of the group sprung into action. bounding forward arrows and spells were loosed... and then there were giant spiders everywhere... several ganged up on NArc and the brave chap fell hard. Larry used the distraction to escape their attention (but not before healing them), as ah headed towards narc, ah saw glaurung unleash great breaths of fire that felled several spiders. nadia was a blur of blades as she slew many of them while gigi's bravery was also rewarded with a spider kill. then we were alone... searing the cave, we found several survivors but a couple who didnae make it. ah sadly equipped meself with some beautiful armour and nadia got herself an impressive sword. The folks headed off towards hope - where ah hope a hot meal will help them forget the horrors they've seen. As we pushed on, we found ourselves a nice spot to settle in fer the night. as we settled down we were disturbed by ah group of cheery fellows who claimed dominion over the land here. claiming to worship ah dragon but no fans of ragemaw apparently. nadia was quick to tell them we were on our way to fight the beast and they didnae seem ter like the sound of that... ah remember a notice iacarus posted about them, we should tell him when we get back! Travelling onwards the next day, ah had a brief thought for the forge but we pushed on over the river and headed north towards strade's gallows. the town is an odd place, talk of curses and child labour. ah reckon someone needs ter investigate here but their suspicion of magic users makes me wonder if ah'm the right person. ah'll consult brother cadfael if ah return from this. crossing the river to the north, we were soon enveloped in fog. as larry and ah talked aboot cleric duties, a scared looking fella came running towards us. as nadia and narc ran to meet him, two gigantic boars charged oot of the mist. narc went down and ah ran ter get him back on his feet but as ah ran, ah saw gigi take a big old swing at larry with her rapier... ah dinnae ken what that was all aboot, those two are usually pretty close... she must have spotted something near him? Getting narc back to the world of the living, ah turned ter see the boar strike at him again. he's a brave lad but ah reckon he might be a little too brave at times! sounds came of one of the boars dying before the second fell soon after. catching oor breath, we turned to the newcomer to see what was going on...
Narc's reptile babling At last the spot has been freed by some undecisive bunch and Narc finally could move from warm wooden hut where adventurers drink and feast. Down the road team went with Larry as navigator. He did well keeping us on the path covered in white, puffy, cold powder. Suddely two of human kind team saw struggling and scared. Not much meat on bone there was so even Narc wasn't interested but meatbags said there were 8-legged skreeching big bugs close that took them into lair and there are more meatbags i there. Big fella did some better'd fleshbags' wounds and others borrowed them a tent. Thus Narc and team went to hunt the spoders (flashbugs call that 8 legged web weavers). Team freed what was left of fleshbags and moved on towards the town of some Gallows where team rested. Next day Narc woke up and took ride in carved logs across the river. Wasn't long of zig-zagging Narc saw smoke and debris. Group so close now to the target but then screem of fleshbag heard by team was. Blades drawn and Narc charged and the Giant boars trampled over Narc but with team helping Narc was good and horned fat arseholes eliminated were.

Hi mate, this is a little too short to qualify for XP. You did enough to earn the Destiny Dice, but I'd only be able to award 100XP instead of the usual 200XP.
