If I am a Pro subscriber, and my DM is only free, can I import MY character from my vault into our game?

If not, then that's trash when I am paying for the most expensive subscription. Thanks,

Each game will have one of two access levels. The level of a game is determined by the subscription level of the game creator's account. If the game creator does not have a subscription, the game will have the Limited Vault. If the game creator has a subscription, the game will have an All Access Vault. Limited Vault This is the default level. With this level, only players who are themselves Plus or Pro subscribers (and therefore have "All Access Vault" enabled for their whole account) can import characters into the game. "players who are themselves Plus or Pro subscribers (and therefore have "All Access Vault" enabled for their whole account) can import characters into the game." I think you should be fine as a paying subscriber Jason.
awesome! The way I was reading it in the actual vault it seemed like the DM had to be sub'd in order to enable vault importing in the campaign. This is great news! Thanks!!

The other thing you could try would be to host the games on your account, which would give your DM access to a lot more features. That's what I end up doing...I create the game and promote the person who will be GMing that game (if it's not me) to GM. Then I just join as a player. But they have access to the API, etc.

Test it and let us know what you find? I know that there is a setting on the GM's side, "Allow players to import characters". If that setting isn't enabled, players cannot import. * I'm curious how this would work when the GM is not a paid Subscriber but the Player is. Wouldn't the GM still have to checkmark that setting? *By the way FWIW the words import and export have been used interchangably here, technically it is IMPORT to your own Vault, and EXPORT to a GM's game table.

As a pro user, you can test this sort of situation by creating a Dummy Account and making a game with it, inviting your Pro account. It's a good way to quickly test interaction between subscription/free accounts.

Allowing players to importing characters must be turned on, regardless of Creator's own ability to do so. It's the same logic with as with restricting which compendiums can be used in a game, makes no difference if GM owns or shares specific compendiums, the creator can block players from using specific compendiums anyway(which makes sense if GM only wants to allow sourcebooks they own to be sued in character creation).

The Creator/GM must click the "Allow players to import characters" button in the game settings. It might be set to "no" by default when a game is created.
