More flexible chat window

I would like to have a customiseable chat window. Personally I would like to have my chat at the bottom line below the avatars. That way you can have longer text lines which is easier to read. It would also be nice to see the chat at the bottom while browsing your handouts, graphics, macros or characters on the right side.

+1 and even the ability to turn it off or have it autohide!!!
I would like the OPTION of having such a feature... Personally, I prefer up the side, (and purely for easy of scrolling - more height = less missed posts due to a chatty player (my players often roleplay in the chat window even through the middle of encounters, and it is SO easy to lose a roll from another player in the middle of that.) That said, I can see why some DM's would prefer it.  Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I think an option for separate chat windows would be awesome. a bar along the bottom for text based chat, and input, but another one that picks up the dice rolls and displays them along the side (or wherever each DM would like them). currently, I make heavy use of the /e function in macros to highlight roles, as well as the character sheets so that there is less math, more natural flow to the game in combat. only thing is.... /e  rolls attack vs AC /r 1d20+@str+@bab-@powerattack-@combatexpertise-@fatigue+[other modifiers] /e  does this much damage /r 1d8+@str+@powerattack+[other modifiers] makes for a lot of strings of numbers, even if it makes my life as a DM so much easier, and that makes for a messy chat window, especially during an event driven combat or encounter. feels like it breaks the flow of the chat slightly. and for those wondering, yes, my players often have issues remembering their mods for combat. most of them are relatively new so I use this to take the onus off me and onto them for adjusting for the conditions relevant to that die roll. (also, setting the blue lighting bar to power attack on the sheet means that it can be adjusted on the fly, same thing with the other bar for expertise. of course, only applies to those that HAVE those skills, but still every roll looks the same, only filled with 0's)
I agree whole heartedly.  I would personally like to have chat be  able to be moved to the left side of the screen.  For me my eyes seem to just track there  naturally.  Likely a result of playing MMOs.  Also Multiple chat windows with filters would be wonderful.  Having roles in one and RP in another and a last for OOC and rules discussion.  But just being able to have two and be able to move them would be an improvement on the scale of whole orders of magnitude.  I wonder could the chat window be altered to be a free floating window like hand outs and journals?  Then they could be placed anywhere needed or prefered by the individual?
+1 for more flexibility but especially for the ability to have the chat visible while editing the journal or going through the library.
+1 movable and sizable chat window
I think being able to "pop out" the chat window would also be awesome. I'm looking into getting a 2 screen set-up and if one could be the chat window and the other the d20 tabletop that would rock.

+1 yes floating windows that can dock on another screen would be awesome.  I would love to have as much map showing as possible!!!
Indeed, +1 to movable chat and menus
+1 for being able to have more control, however that comes into use
+1 for being able to "hide" the chat window. I use this mostly for battle mapping in person and never use the chat function.
Yeah, being able to hide the chat would be amazing.  I'm with Matt R-K in that I don't really use it much.  We do everything by video/voice and all of my players prefer their own, real dice.
Add my voice to the request for being able to hide the chat/etc window. The existing panel takes up a significant amount of the space if you're trying to use a laptop rather than a big desktop monitor, and for much of the session it's unnecessary, particulary for the players.
+1 for option to HIDE. We are only using this for a battlemap with dynamic lighting (Awesome!) and still using figures.   We're all playing in the same room so the chat window is completely unnecessary and takes up space for our situation.

It has that ability now. There is a small tab on the left top side of the chat that you can click and it causes it to collapse.
