[LFG] - Two veteran players looking for long term paid campaign

Hello! My name is Laura, and the reason I am writing here is because my fiancee and I are looking for a long-term campaign to play on weekly basis. We are used and enjoy this being a paid service, which in our minds, ensures a standard of quality as well as ensures a very high, nearly perfect attendance from all participants. But first, some details about ourselves! Names: Laura and Chris Ages : 33 and 30 Time Zone : GMT / United Kingdom Preferred days to play : Tuesday, Friday, Saturday after 6PM GMT. Other days may work after 6PM, but these are our preferences. DnD Experience: We have both been into DnD for about 16 years, starting by online roleplaying in a videogame called Neverwinter Nights, based on 3rd Edition. We're quite fluent with 3rd, 3.5, and 5e, and would prefer using these rulesets, especially 5e since it's what's current. Type of characters we play: Any! We play any variety of martial, divine, arcane, and hybrid characters, depending on what suits the setting and the story. We have a preference for all-good parties or at least parties that all work towards the same goal. A paladin and an evil thief in the party that keeps stealing part of the loot and making deals in the night with evil factions is a big no-no for us. We like to play as a team, even if each character has their own personality, quirks and aims. PvP? Considering the last paragraph, preferably not. If it makes sense, and there is enough trust between the players, I can see how it can further a plot or create interesting relationships between the characters, but in all my years of DnD I can barely tell one such conflict that didn't end with someone having bitter feelings somewhere. Combat Difficulty: We like encounters to be both challenging and meaningful! And victory not taken for granted. To me, it's boring when I know I'm going to win anyway because then there is little point in everything you do. You are just gonna win by default, or the DM is going to find a way to turn your failures into a winnable situation. At the same time, too many pointless encounters that don't further the plot tend to become boring. And of course, if the party chooses to tackle on an enemy that's above their league and ven though the DM warns them of this they wipe... well, that's the player's fault!  Disagreeing with the DM: To us, the DM is the boss, and what he says goes. If there is a rule that the DM is not applying correctly, we may bring it up to his attention, incase he made a mistake unknowingly. But once the DM has made the ruling, it goes. If we find something seemed unfair or not well handled, one of us may bring it up privately with the DM after the game.IE, I've seen DMs grow fond of their villains and go to incredible lengths to keep them alive through extreme beatings just to teleport away in the last second just because it suit the plot. I might not agree with that being handled that way, but won't call the DM out during the session, if anything, talk about it privately later to find a common understanding on what happened, because also a lot of the time the DM knows things the players don't.  Party Size: We find large parties turn into too much chatter, and little opportunity for some characters to find their niche to excel or participate in general, and so we prefer games limited to 4 players. A 5th player, if really crucial for whatever reason we can live with, though it feels a bit like a stretch. Six players would be definitely too much for us. What are we looking for:  In general, a campaign that takes our characters from level 1-5 to 15+ in an epic campaign where our characters can feel integral part of the world, make choices that impact the environment around them, and shape the world itself and the outcome of the events. We'd like our characters to be integrated into not only the plot, but the world itself, with hooks, connexions, and stories that place them in the plotline and makes them relevant to whatever happens. We do not mind a lot if it's an official campaign or homebrew, only that the story feels compelling and enjoyable to play through in the company of our fellow players and DMs. We love to explore worlds, and Chris particularly loves when the characters leave their mark in that world by, for example, acquiring a tavern, or owning a mansion or a mage tower and turning it into their base of operations where they can manage different aspects of it. Contact info: Either just message here, or add me in Discord (Nereida#4082) and we can discuss your campaign, schedules, availability, payments and such! Looking forward to hear from great DMs with awesome campaigns and other intrepid player adventurers that would join us in this new journey!
I have a planned game that might be just what you are looking for. I have one player recruited so far, with a compatible schedule to yours. Now, I do use Gurps 4ed Fantasy, but you don’t need any prior experience or rule books. I have it all handled on my end, with macros and scripts automating everything. Gurps is a point by system (with optional templates for ‘character classes’) and very good for making a wide variety of characters. I will guide you through character creation. First session is free. The known world consists of two continents, Eraniel and Xon, split apart by the Sea of Mists. Eraniel, the northern continent, is mainly dominated by humans, but there are also enclaves of dwarves, elves and many other species. Trade routes cross the Sea of Mists and many trade ports prosper on its shores. One of those is the city state of Syndr, ruled by the Council of Guildmasters. It is a large and cosmopolitan city, its marketplaces full of people and goods from all over the world. To the north lies the Great Forest. The forest, and the mountains beyond it, are the territory of the great elder dragon Kozraig the Red. Only small villages dare exist on the outskirts of his hunting range. The interior is untamed wilderness, populated by wild beasts, fierce goblin tribes and other, stranger, things. However, it has been years since anyone has sighted Kozraig. Perhaps the beast is hibernating, as ancient dragons are said to do for decades at a time. Perhaps, some even hope, he has died. You are employed by Syndr's Trader Guild and the Guildmaster has proposed to you a dangerous, but potentially quite profitable mission- an expedition north into Kozraig the Red's territory. Your task is to look for potential threats and profitable resources, and to find out if a new overland trade route could be opened to the settlements beyond the mountains...   About me: I have been running tabletop games on and off for two decades now, and have recently decided to try my hand at professional GMing. My hobbies are writing, world building and board game design, and they all greatly synergize for tabletop RPGs. I am a world builder first, and love character driven sandbox games, with an even mix of combat and roleplay. I will start out with a main story line to get the characters moving and introduce the players to the game world. Characters are encouraged to take initiative and build their own things and change the world. I prefer to run games using Discord voice and Roll20 for tactical maps, with macros and scripts to ease play and speed up combat. I am Kaspar#8802 on Discord. Rules system: Gurps 4th edition. You don’t need any previous familiarity with it- Gurps is quite intuitive for players once the GM has edited the options list down to what is relevant for the campaign. I have made my own interactive character sheets, and plenty of Roll20 macros and scripts to automate skillchecks and combat. Why choose a paid game? Everyone will take the schedule more seriously, ensuring steady session attendance Full GM support with creating characters and learning the game rules Full production values: a unique sandbox world, helpful Roll20 scripts, visual and sound effects. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of €10 per session, by Paypal or Roll20 Subscription gifts. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Fees should be paid at least a week in advance, no refunds for last day cancelations on the players side.
We found our DM/group, thanks to everyone who wrote!
