Hello, I'm Robert. I've written a custom RPG Called Otherworlds and I'm a little short on players for my second campaign in Roll20, having one already running. This is a simple to learn, basic d100 ruleset, Far Future Sci-Fi game where you play as an Alien race. I Have chosen not to have Humans, Elves, or other traditional races, favoring an all alien game. There is a human-esque race called the Terrans but their origins are a major pivotal point in the history of the game. Otherwise, you play as one of a varied number of races. The Malaxi Atgal, the Perfected people of the planet Pacara, genetically perfected themselves and anyone that was genetically impure was cast out and labeled Terrans, and they were treated as little more than intelligent animals. The Malaxi-Atgal looked to the machines and found themselves imperfect and altered their genetics with heavy metals to produce bio-circuitry. This new race was called the Mecha, and the Malaxi-Atgal allowed their race to die out, replaced by the Mecha, rather than remain imperfect. Centuries later they felt the call again and they once again turned to the machines. This time stripping away everything that made them flesh until only brains, cloned from genetic material harvested from uniquely gifted Mecha, remained. These were the Malaxi-toga. Not all Mecha believed that the Malaxi-toga were the true path of their race and war broke out, The Mecha holdouts and Malaxi and their Mecha supporters fought but the Malaxi won. The Terrans were caught in the middle and ground beneath the heels of both races. The Malaxi separated into six Houses, each following an ideal of how they felt warfare should be fought, and when they ran out of enemies they turned on each other eventually beginning to destroy their homeworld as they mercilessly ground the planet to the wreckage and stripped it os resources to fuel their war. Eventually, an effort was made by the mecha and Terrans to escape the system, but only seven ships of ten thousand succeeded, their life support giving out before reaching any inhabited planet. Three crashed on the Archon homeworld of Praeton who used the advanced Mecha technology to reach out and discover the other races. Some welcomed the new races with friendship, and others met with bloodshed and violence before settling into treaties. The Sensates were the last of these to be discovered and when their homeworld was invaded they unleashed a Genetically specific virus created to annihilate the other races as they brought the virus back to their homeworlds. The Proteus, however, much to the sensates horror were discovered to be Virus based life forms with awesome mutative genetics that made their next generations resistant yet the new virus began wiping out the Sensates. The Sensates then bargained and worked with the races to create an antivirus using the genetics of all the races blending their genetics together to at least some level. The solution caused mutations granting the Psionic abilities of the Quadrepedal Archon Race, the Mutative genetics of the Proteus, and the ability to manipulate Dimensional energies of the Draconi to merge with the other races granting 30% of the universes major races these powers. Now the Malaxi have discovered the Races and have begun an invasion of the core worlds seeking new resources, and new challenges to test their war machines against. This is Otherworlds. a d100 based system designed with simplicity in mind. Character generation is the most complex part of the game to learn, with the rest easily falling into place afterward. My game setup has the book broken into small, easily digestible chapters for ease of reading and research. Many systems, such as combat, are exceptionally similar between foot combat, vehicle combat, and space combat. The trick to game balance is the "Balance by Sacrifice" aspect. There are no levels. Experience is spent ala carte on skills, powers, and attributes, but the more you power game in one area the more you also cut your throat in other areas. The system works great with both power gamers, and roleplayers due to the Balance system. You can start the game as a world-class sniper, but can you drive, use a computer, Barter for better pay, or repair your gear? Professions take the place of Classes. Scoundrels skirt the underworld, Doctors perform surgery in the field, Soldiers rain down firepower, and Mechanics keep the whole thing on the move, while Explorers seek adventure in the wild regions of the worlds. A simple Build and repair system where you build teams to do everything from just you repairing your armor to managing hundreds of engineers to construct starships. All through a trimmed, pared-down system that works the same for anything with a price tag no matter how big or small. The rules are still evolving slowly a bit as my players put the system through its paces and their creativity challenges those very rules. Currently, i have slots for a few players on Saturdays from 4-8 pm EST / 1 -5 pm Pacific Saturdays. I'm welcoming any questions or comments and would love to make a few new friends along the way. Message me if you have said questions, comments, or are interested in trying out something fresh and new. Note: Unfortunately English is my native language and I am terrible with picking up new ones. I can only wish I could be more diverse in this matter. Thank you ahead.
