[well, not THAT kind of beholder...] Here's where, if you're so inclined, you can write your character journals. I'd like it if you wrote things from the perspective of your character, but your journals are yours - write whatever and however you see fit. Journal entries aren't required, but they are worth bonus XP. If you'd like to contribute, but would prefer to use some other kind of outlet (e.g. - sketches of moments that stuck in your head, music that you think captures the past session, etc.), that's good too. Zud's ADVENTURE JOURNAL Days 1 and 2: Meet and Greet. After arriving to the cart I was given instructions to help others escort a cart of supplies to the South and then East. Going south makes me nervous, but as long as I stay somewhat cloaked I should be fine. Gundren and his bodyguard, Sildar, fled ahead and we were to meet him with the goods at the destination in Phandalin. So far this is ten times better than shoveling shit. Old Sully can sod off (for now)! Day 3: Two Dead Horses and a Goblin Horde. We arrive at the intersection, change roads and head east. Four hours later we come across two dead horses. That's when I knew it had to be, no say it isn't so. While Thoradin investigated and realized they were, indeed, Gundren's and Sildar's we were ambushed by goblins! These demons remind me of the goblin tribes I had to deal with as a child. Although these were much tamer. My found out my “business partners” are handy in combat indeed. I was mighty impressed by the crushing blow dealt by Thoradin! I, surprisingly, get along with the new associates already. Most, dwarves like me. The others, halflings. I also have no tall-envy with this gang. Not a rag-tag, but more like we all fit party. A fight like that needs a short rest. Phew! Muradin and I tried to track where the bodies went. My skills are getting rusty. I haven't been in the wilderness since that night. The Mountain Dwarf showed me up. I made sure to show him I was not impressed. After some time following the trail we arrived at the mouth of a cave. This time Muradin took point and investigated while I followed. DOGS! The cleric, Quinver, managed to get the dogs to calm down. For some reason Muradin got mad at me for not having any rations. Man, I had to run from T-Rex and catch my food growing up. Must've been fed with a mithral spoon. Eventually we tear into more goblins and another crushing blow by Thoradin! Then it became very sobering when I saw Gundren's bodyguard lying limply within an armored goblin's grasp. At that point, the only thing in my mind was how to get that human out of harm's way? I knew I had to ease the wretched creature's nerves before we acted. I raised my hands and talked to him. He told me his name was Yemick and he wanted to become top dog and overthrow his superior, Klarg (or something). Not that it mattered because I took none of it seriously. When Sildar cried out I knew it was time to act. With a nod to the party, Quinver with his quick thinking casted a spell and distracted the goblin. That is when I aimed my staff at him and channeled three bolts of arcane force through the crystal and succeded... in defeating him. After killing the rest we made camp outside the cave. Finshire, the rogue, went to go check on the cart we hid in the woods. We found out about a castle and what I knew was only it was a wizard named Phalorm at one time. Only time will tell what this will be. 8<=-)
Back to Phandalin Its time to get back to Phandalin to investigate whom of the Redbrands set me up. Gundren is heading there and has even offered me a job to escort some goods. I'm going to be traveling with a band of dwarfs and a halfling Quinver. This trip should be easy coin. This group looks like they could stomp a mud hole into any adversary we might encounter. I'm looking forward in seeing my Aunt Qelline Alderlead and Halia Thorton to see what's been going on in the town. Even though I haven't taken a life. I will see to it Glasstaff meets the underworld and any other Redbrand involved. After second breakfast we came upon two dead horses in the middle of the road. I smelt something weird about the situation. I didn't want to see if I was wrong or right, and instantly climbed up the ravine to meet up with a goblin. His swing was a miss by Tymora. I acted by leaving him with a nasty gash in his arm. Then to my surprise Henry's magic toppled the goblin into the dirt. I haven't seen magic like that since Glasstaff. In the after math the dwarfs decided to take a trail. Looting the goblin bodies reveled red dyed cloths a badge of sorts. I gave pause to my old gang and the color. We set out to try to find out what happen to Grundren and Sildar. I grabbed a quiver of arrows from some dead goblins that we made quick work of right outside the cave. The trail ended up at a mouth of a cave. Hearing dogs bark just inside. The way to shut up a Worg so it wouldn't give our position away? Is FEED IT! As most the group went further into the cave I didn't want to give away an sort of surprise to our coming . So I stayed put and feed the two Worgs until I heard a cry for help. It took a Dwarf's life time to get the candle lit but a lightning dash to see. Sildar at the mercy of a armored goblin who threaten his life. The goblin was talking of a leader Clarg and what he would do if we came closer. I seen the goblin get distracted but I couldn't get a clear shot. However the dwarfs, and the halfing won the day by ending Yemik faster than I could say " By the luck of Tymora". There were slumbering goblins in the corner and did what had to be done. However I swore I seen a grin on Muradin face ending there dirty life. The party seamed they needed a rest from this encounter and mentioned the safety of the cart we left behind. I came out of this unscathed by Tymora but a little tired. After making sure the party was alright I headed off toward the cart to reflect on the days events.
Day 1- The Job for Gundren I've arrived in Neverwinter to look for some mercenary work. It seems my time in the military has made me no longer a sociable person, as I often find myself drinking alone in the inns. Today was different however. I was joined by another dwarf who called himself Gundren Rockseeker. I was going to tell him to go away, but he brought up something that caught my interest. A job transporting a cart a few days travel south, to Phandalin. I accepted without hesitation. You don't get much salary from being a retired soldier. Day 2- Traveling to Phandalin I met with the rest of the group at the cart. They seemed like an odd sort if I say so myself. I shan't go into details of the group individually, but it certainly will be an interesting journey. Nothing else of note happened today. Day 3- Trouble at the Cave When I awoke from a nightmare, I had been annoyed. I couldn't stop seeing my friends faces on the battlefield in my dreams. Enough of that however, now isn't the time for the past. We came across 2 dead horses lying on the ground, as well as an empty map case nearby. It seems Gundren ran into some issues trying to get to Phandalin ahead of us. After a brief scuffle with the goblins, the Hill Dwarf, Zud, had found some goblin footprints, and an indication that someone was being dragged. I checked myself to reaffirm, and concluded the same thing. After some debate, we hid the cart in a nearby alcove that had probably been used by the goblins to wait for their ambushes. I lead the group, and disarmed a trap but fell into a pit that had been placed by the goblins, but came out uninjured. It seems most of my reflexes from the war are still there. Coming to a cave, we had another altercation with goblins, but quickly silenced them. Making our way inside, we came across a wolf den of sorts, where 3 wolves had been chained to stakes driven in the ground. I fed them some of my rations to keep them quiet, and we continued on our way. About 30 feet into the cave, a wave of water was rushing towards us, and I quickly dove into a hole on the left. Climbing up the hole, I found myself beset by at least 6 goblins. I owe my thanks to the group, as I came out without too serious injuries. We were stopped by a goblin superior, who was holding Sildar, Gundren's bodyguard, hostage. As we negotiated, he was thrown off guard by a voice from behind, and quickly taken out by the group. We managed to resecusitate Sildar, and now await what he has to say on the matter.
Dear Mom and Dad, I know you'll never see this, as I don't plan to send you anything I ever write, but I feel as if I should at least collect my thoughts in one spot, in case you ever stumble upon my remains. It's been ten years since I left home, embarking on my life journey, and a few days ago, I set out on another. I set out to offer my services as a healer. I got a job pretty quick, to my surprise. Decent pay, too. 10 gold to escort a load of supplies to its destination. The people assigned to the shipment with me aren't what I expected I was sure there would be rough and tough humans, or even some elven archers. But it's all dwarves and halflings. Even so, I'm still on the short side. We set off a couple days ago, and my first adventure began. We traveled a couple days down theKings road, and nothing really exciting happened. But on the next road, we ran into two dead horses. They were the horses of the guy who hired ups, and his bodyguard. Upon inspection, we were ambushed by four goblins. Two of them fired arrows at us! One targeted me, but I thank the gods I was wearing my armour. We got them taken care of, and I even got to heal one of my new friends, Thoradin. We then found a trail that looked like somebody had been drug down it, so we followed. There was a whole cave of goblins! I'd never seen anything like it. We fought through, and got to someone that seemed to be in charge, holding the guard captive on the edge of a small drop. I surprised myself here by casting a spell to make him think that someone was whispering behind him, then our wizard took him out! The guard hit the ground hard, but a cure wounds spell got him back up to Par. Now, we're going to head back to the cart of supplies and head on to the destination. I just really hope the guy that hired us is okay! This journal idea really seems to make me feel good! I'll try to keep it updated regularly. - Quinver Tealeaf
Day One: We're Off! I am kind of ambivalent about this "adventure" I am really only in it for the coin, but the rest of my group seems like they are really excited about going on the road. I have never met these individuals before and to be honest I'm a little wary. I hate opening up and I always feel as though I have something to prove in order to be accepted. We shall see how this pans out. Day Two: Boring. Nothing special to report. We have assembled at this run down cart-- plan on heading south along the road. Not sure about everyone still, but Zud seems like quite the character! Day Three: Busy, Busy, Busy! When we turned onto the side road, we noticed a two dead horses on the path. Since I was unsure about how the group felt about me, I decided to volunteer to go and investigate. It was Gundren and Sildar's horses-- thankfully their corpses were nowhere to be found! Just as I was trying to assess what attacked the horses, we were ambushed by a group of goblins. I was caught off guard almost instantly and was quite shaken. My first few attacks were feeble-- barely doing any damage to my foe, but I came through in big way once I gained my composure. After the adrenalin wore off, I realized how hurt I was. Thankfully, Quinver (our cleric) healed me enough to make me comfortable. Once all the goblins were dealt with, we headed forward again. There were a few traps along the road and Muradin made short work of them (although the first one was a little iffy). We came to a small river which led to the mouth of a cave. Of course we decided to investigate and almost immediately came across some dogs chained up just inside the entrance. Once they were placated with some tasty jerky, we decided to head on. Right into another pack of goblins. This time the fight was easier-- I was more prepared and behaved accordingly. After the short fight, we saw the "leader" of these goblins holding up a very weak Sildar. After much questioning and back and forth, it was Quinver's distraction that made it so Sildar was released. We looted the corpses and decided to make camp right outside the mouth of the cave.
Moving back into goblin cave to investigate the disappearance of Mr. Rockseeker and the leader of this band of goblins. The party went ahead of me in the dark. I followed in bringing up the rear. All of a sudden we were ambushed by goblins. I was hit once then twice. It happen so fast. I was then awakened by Quinver's divine healing. If it wasn't for he and his deity I might of been floating down the creek. The group went well in advance. Sounds of fighting soon rang out in the dark. This time a large snarling creature with a dog and more goblins. The dwarfs again tore into what ever stood there ground. Such amazing fighters to behold. Continuing on into Phandalin a day latter. Zed/Henry felt ill on our way there. I broke off from the party on the edge of town. To investigate more if I could about Glasstaff and who set me up. At first, I didn't want to bring this fine company in the middle of my problems. In the end I told them more about my involvement, and that terrible night when I barley escaped with my life. The party seemed indifferent from what I could tell. Another dwarf trait I could only assume except for Sildar. When I told them how I survived here in Phandalin he looked down on my choices. Sure I'm not to terrible proud of what I've done. Getting caught up with easy coin and the easy life can test one's luck. On my way back to the party. I came along side Tymora's shrine and dropped a few silver pieces. I met Agatha a member of the Harpers telling me information about retrieving some spell book in Neverwinter woods. However, time was of the essence to get back to the company. Giving her a kind node and snapping of my cloak I departed. The party headed down the road with purpose. I'm not sure why, exactly the halfling Quinver and the dwarf's had it in for the Redbrands so quickly, but who I'am to question Tymora's help. Arriving in front of the Sleeping Giant tavern. There were four humans lounging around the entrance making quick witted insults to the group and testing Muradins and Thoradin's patience. NOT A GOOD IDEA!
Day 4: More Creatures, More Problems. It seems some deity above curses my very existence, as the group has run across multiple fights in a a single day. Not once in my days during the war did I ever see this much combat in a single day, asides from large sieges. We returned to the cave where the goblins were in, and we made our way deeper into it. We ran into a few goblins on the way, and quickly dispatched them, although one particular goblin angered me to the point of ripping out his spine and turning it into a necklace, one that I'll keep until I can find a suitable replacement. Perhaps a Troll's spine would make a better one but I'm getting off track. We entered the heart of the cave and we ran across a large Bugbear, the one called Klarg. We made short work of him, and I managed to gain a free weapon and shield in the form of his Morningstar. We also found a chest in the room as well, and inside were a multitude of coins, two healing potions, and a jade frog with gold eyes. I'm not sure if it has some sort of significance, but it'll fetch a pretty penny for the group. We arrived in Phandalin in the same day, and I bid farewell to the party as I went to one of the stores to sell my Pike, as I had no real need of it anymore. While conversing with the shopkeeper, she mentioned a particular problem in the form of the Redbands here in Phandalin. She said they'd been causing quite a bit of problems, and even killing off townsfolk. She mentioned their usual hangout was the Sleeping Giant, which was just down the road from our inn. I bid her farewell and entered the inn to regroup with the party. I spoke with the ones present about the Redbrands, and how we should go and take them out for the good of this town. The group quickly agreed and we made haste. We arrived at the Sleeping Giant to see 4 thugs lounging around the entrance. One of them thought it funny to take pokes at me, and my temper wouldn't let it go, so I quickly pulled out my morningstar, and struck out at him. We made quick work of the thugs and found only a piece of paper on one of their bodies. It mentioned something that really, and I mean REALLY made my blood boil. It talked of a slave ring, and how innocent townsfolk were being abducted and forced into it. I grilled the Townsmaster about this, and he tried to shove paltry promises down my throat that the Redbrands were harmless. He eventually came clean and admitted that their real base of operations was in the burned out manor up the hill. I can't seem to hold a grudge against the Townsmaster, since he was only trying to protect his citizens. No, the real blame lay on the monsters who would do such atrocities, such things I have never bore witness to, even in war. I swear by the Law, that these men will pay, even if it costs me my life.

Dear Mom and Dad, Today has been the most frightening and invigorating day of my life, even counting the night I ran away from home! We went back into the Goblin caves and cleared everyone out, including a bugbear! Somehow with the fighting, I managed to get at least one kill with my crossbow, maybe two, but I was too excited to count. I even got to save a life, which is one of the most fulfilling experiences I could ever imagine. After we made sure everyone was alright, we headed on to Phandelin with the goods that we were paid to escort. When we reached the small town, I went into the Inn with Thoradin and Sildar. I quickly dismissed myself to the upstairs area, so I could bathe and spend a little time relaxing. When I felt thoroughly clean, I went downstairs where the rest of my friends had gathered. They told me that there was a group of thugs terrorizing the town! The Redbrands, they were called! And didn't I feel silly, with my red bandana around my head! Fortunately, it wasn't the same as theirs, and they don't wear them on their heads. Anyways, we went to confront these Redbrands at the Sleeping Giant, which is where they like to hang out. There were four of them, and we quickly made them wish they had chose to live out their lives as deckhands! Something has been weighing on me greatly, I must add. During the fight with the Redbrands, I used a necrotic spell called Inflict Wounds. I had never used it in combat, but I knew it was powerful. When I channeled my faith and energy, I could feel the evil Gods creeping up inside of me, whispering words of encouragement and drowning out the Gods of life. Their presence didn't frighten me so much, but the fact that I felt so good after the spell did. During the spell, black tendrils swirled around my arm, and as soon as I made contact with the mans leg I knew there was no hope for him. The skin darkened as if it had been six feet under for some time, and began to break away beneath my fingers. Feeling such control over life just reassures me that I must fulfill my quest and find the key to immortality, so that I may perfect this dark art throughout the ages. - Quinver Tealeaf

Night 3: Back to Town. Gaining more trust in my new associates I follow them with Sildar back to town. I'm hoping he still gives up the gold still after what has transpired as I could use those for scribing materials. When we got back I received my gold! I admit though this is more dangerous but a lot better than shoveling shit. Now if I come across any spells I won't be so broke that I can't scribe it into my spellbook. Day 4: We Awake the Sleeping Giant. We find out of a gang who call themselves The Redbrands. Sounds like one of the indy bands I saw perform in Neverwinter back during the Celebration of Lliira. Their hideout is a place called the Sleeping Giant. I say we wake their asses up! I wasn't able to do much and the party did all the work, but we managed to permanently put them pack to sleep. When Henry learns of the slaves it saddens him. It gives him flashbacks from a horrible time in his life. Night 4: Massive Runs. Then somehow I managed to get massive RUNS!!! I must have passed out because I don't remember anything after that. 8<=-)
Day 5: The Redbrand's Hideout and the Fallen Wizard. We awoke that morning in the inn, thankfully to no traps about. It seems the Redbrands either haven't figured out we were the ones to kill the 4 grunts, or they don't take us seriously. Either way, we ate breakfest and discussed what our strategy should be. We immediately ruled out trying to walk into the manor by itself, as that would be a 1 way ticket to death. After much discussion, we decided to wrap around the town, and approach the manor from the forest on the south side of the hill it stands on. We set out for the manor, wondering what dangers would await us. I could sense it from the moment we stepped into the cave. Something was off. The group managed to get through the forest and found an entrance to the basement of the manor thanks to Finshire. We entered to find the cave having a faint smell of rotting corpses. I peered around the cave, trying to search for any sign of life, only to be assaulted by a telepathic creature. The name escapes me, but it seemed to be a fallen wizard, who was looking for food. Finshire left and brought back a pig for him to eat. He seemed grateful, so we moved on, heading for a hallway just to the left of the cave entrance. We approached a door that was at the end of the hall and heard some voices. The voices seemed goblinish, but no one could quite make out what they were saying. Henry managed to use one of his spells and understand what they were saying. It didn't seem like important information, just jeers at another creature in the room. We decided to open the door, and took up positions outside of the hallway, with myself acting as a wall between them and the group. Three bugbears emerged from the room, and they looked pissed. Have I ever mentioned how hard a bugbear hits? Well they hit very hard, but thankfully the group was able to defeat them and managed to enter the room. We took a short rest to regroup, and I decided to feed the 'wizard' who had been watching him. He directed me to drop the bugbear's corpses (after we had looted them of course), into the crevice in the middle of the room. He was very grateful, and gave us a treasure chest filled with interesting things. The most useful to me was a Longsword that belonged to the lord of this castle a long time ago, and seemed to have an air of magic around it. I spent the rest of my rest just leaned against the wall, with the sword in my arms. We found that the creature in the room with the Bugbears was just an ordinary goblin that the bugbears had been forcing to do ridiculous and demeaning tasks. He lead us the a secret door that would take us to Glasstaff, and we took up formation. The wizard didn't even last 15 seconds. Barging into the room, I did a slash with the sword I obtained from the chest, and hit him with a backswing, killing him instantly. Looting around his office, we found a note that incriminated Iarno, the fellow knight that Sildar had been searching for. Taking the loot, we left the office, although I took his head with me. It'll be a nice intimidation factor to any redbrands still around. We decided to wait and decide what our next best move is.

Revenge at last Spending the night at the Stone Hill Inn was apprehensive for me with the gang still at large. Word could get back to Glasstaff and our throats could be cut in the middle of the night. So fixing a few traps by using some goblin arrows and string. I placed around the door and window. Was a necessary precaution to take. To my relief Lathanders light shinned threw the cracks of the window and the night was over. The group met down in the lobby and over sausage and eggs. We discussed the plan for the day. I did inform the group about Garela a Priestess of Tymora and her request to retrieve a magic book for her. The group seemed unresponsive on that notion. We headed around town and headed towards the manor from the south. We past Aunt Qulline farm and I gave a little smirk and a warm thought of a visiting her real soon. I took the lead threw the woods to my surprise a cave entrance was a way in to the manor. After the party came together to enter the cave. We entered into the dark. A creepy voice immediately spoke in our heads. The voice kept on saying it was hungry over and over again and the Redbrands would feed this abomination. Instead of getting into a confrontation with this thing. I felt some pity and went and barrow d a pig. I gave pause at the smoke coming up from the chimney and imagined what good food Auntie was stirring up for supper : ) On my return the creature ate the pig that I brought back and enjoyed it immensely. In hindsight it was pretty funny going threw the woods with a pig. I went downstairs to set a trap in motion were we heard monstrous voices behind a door. Opening the door to my sight were a some nasty looking bugbears. After giving them a few provocative gestures. I headed back up stairs throwing metal balls in my wake. There Muradin swiveled into position and stood like a stone fixture blocking the way. When I heard a grunt from the bugbear falling down. I giggled to myself to the pain that was getting ready to descend upon them. After Henry manifested fire from his hand that gave me an idea to add to it. I threw a flask of oil down on the stairs to add to the bugbears misery. The battle raged on with Muradin at the helm. The screams of pain from Muradin and the bugbears was matched by a bloody mess that was left behind. Quinver aided with his deity's blessing to Muradin. With a glowing touch he looked better. With a final arrow whizzing over Quinver and Muradins head to impale the bloodied bugbear in the eye. The battle was finally over Whew! Slumping down against the wall for a small rest. I started daydreaming about supper and dinner at Aunt Quilline's farm. We continued to look for Glasstaff. A goblin that surrendered gave us information that confirmed the creatures answer where the wizard was. I was again asked to take point and to open a secret door that lead to Glasstaff. I slid back to unleash my revenge though Muradin. He blurred past me and I caught a glimpse of the second blow on Glasstaff neck. I had mixed emotions on striking him myself for his undeniable betrayal. No matter though. My retribution was finally in the hands of Muradin. .
Mom and Dad, Today has been, quite a long day. We're taking a short rest right now, so I thought I'd take a little time to jot down a letter. This morning, we went to an old, burnt manor, which was the hideout of the Redbrands. We sent Finshire ahead of us to scout, and he managed to find a secret entry! We went in, and ran into a nothic. By the Gods, it was so fascinating to see one of these creatures in person. Nobody else seemed to know what we were dealing with, but lucky for us I came across an entry on nothics in a book on Aberrations during my studies. Some of our party seemed to want to fight the poor creature, but fortunately we struck a deal instead. After feeding him, he helped us find our way around a little bit. After searching the cavern where the nothic lived, we found a room off to one side. There were noises coming from inside, but we couldn't quite figure out what it was. We decided to lay a small trap, and draw out whatever was inside. Turns out, it was a few bugbears! After a pretty decent battle, we took them out and found out what they were doing in the room. They had a pet goblin. They would berate him and make him eat things off the floor, or worse. Upon his rescue, he turned out to be of more use than the nothic, who was more than happy snacking on the bugbear bodies. The goblin led us to a secret passage up to the Glasstaff's room. He's the wizard that seems to be in charge of the Redbrands. I expected a lengthy fight, but Muradin charged in killed the wizard in one swift move. I wish I could have seen how it happened, but I was still making my way up the stairs. Next time, maybe it can be me that strikes such a blow! - Quinver Tealeaf
Day 5: Enemy Friends and the Traitor. After we ate breakfast we prepared to confront the Redbrand’s leader at his manor. We also hoped to find Iarno there. We decided to take a low ground approach through the forest and then climb up behind the manor. The Rogue scouted ahead and found a hidden underground entrance. Our party was able to use the secret entrance and enter the passage. I heard a voice not vibrating the air, but inside my mind. I’ve read about psychics, but never came across one. Then I saw a creature peering around the corner. He appeared to be a Nothic. I was fascinated. I do not trust this nothic, but he appears to be hungry so we take pity on him. Fin went to the farm to find him some food. I sat and opened my tome on primordial history. While I was reading I kept my watchful eye on the wizard gone awry. Fin was taking a long time to return from the farm so I gave the nothic some cured deer from my latest hunt. He didn’t seem to care for it, but ate it none the less. Finally Fin the Rogue arrived back to the secret passage. He was carrying a pig across his shoulders. The nothic devoured the pig and looked up us with sincere gratitude. We then set out to investigate on the lower level of the building. We took the stairs headed west. We heard gruff voices in the distance, but couldn’t understand what they were saying. I quietly casted a ritual that allowed me comprehension of all language. The gruff voices were speaking in goblin tongue saying “lick the floor and roll like a dog.” We decided to confront the bugbears. I took my position slightly behind the fighter, who was at the top of the stairs. The cleric stood to the side as the Rogue went down to the door. He knocked and yelled “your mother’s an orc!” Fin then turned around and ran back up the stairs while dropping ball bearings onto the steps so he could make the bugbears fall if they were to chase us. Indeed they did set chase. One slipped on the bearings and the other avoided the obstacle. While the fighter blocked the entryway I shot a flame bolt and missed the enemy. There were hard to hit so I used a magic missiles. Eventually we took them all down and found the goblin crouching in a corner of the previously guarded room. The goblin was so grateful for his freedom that he wanted to help us. He showed us the way to another secret door that led to Glasstaff’s chambers. We caught him by surprise and the fighter terminated him with two slices of his greatsword. I picked up Glasstaff’s magic staff so it could protect me from future danger. I also found the scroll of fire ball and the scroll of charm person. We also found a note on Glasstaff’s bed side that instructed Iarno to capture us and steal our maps. This was confusing to us because we thought Iarno was on our side. Today’s adventures made us grow weary so we decided to remain in the defeated Redbrand’s chamber and rest before we continued on our journey. 8<=-)
Update : fixed the XP chart to be less OP. Journals are worth 10% of the XP needed to gain the next level (as opposed to 10% of the next level's total threshold). Makes more sense, I think, both mathematically and logically. This change is not retroactive, so no need to recalc what you've already earned.

Day 6: Redbrands, Undead, Slaves and Rage! I went back to town to rest because I was out of spells. I headed to the market to sell my old staff while Muradin went to sell the jewelry. I looked at the prices for scribing materials and held on to my gold instead of buying. Charm Person just isn't my style. After a regroup, I headed back to the secret hide out in search of the slaves. The slaves were nowhere to be found but we did run across some Redbrands. I took the southern route to attack them from the rear. But to my surprise three Redbrands headed my direction and attacked me. One managed to hit me but I was able to deflect the other attacks with my new found staff of defense. Eventually we were victorious against the group of Redbrands. I searched the area and found an alchemical lab with a dead rat on the floor. Must've been Glasstaff's familiar. Much to my disappointment the lab didn't hold much else of interest. I went east through a secret door and fought more Redbrands. I casted a ritual of detect magic but found nothing of significance in the Redbrand's barracks or surrounding area. I traveled up the stairs, saw a Redbrand run away and nearly missed a pit trap. In the next area I found skeletons that were given life by necromancy. "Who would do such a thing?", I thought to myself. We eventually dispatched those bone heads with steel, wit and magic flame. We decided to set a trap for a man who we saw run from the hallway with the pit fall. We threw oil by the door and lure our opponents out. Once they stepped on the oil the rogue would torch the slick. They wouldn't take the bait of us luring them out. Thoradin thought it was best to lung in to attack and step back out. The gamble didn't pay off for it almost killed him. When Muradin told us he heard children whimpering inside the door way of our enemy I knew it had to be the slaves. My primal instincts took hold and I went into a rage. With my battleaxe in one hand and my staff in the other I blindly swung at the first Redbrand I saw. During my fit of rage I chopped off his head and continued to hack his dead body with my battleaxe. <a href="http://youtu.be/qwicLgOGJOI?t=1m27s" rel="nofollow">http://youtu.be/qwicLgOGJOI?t=1m27s</a> I came to in a pool of my enemy's blood. The final standing Redbrand grabbed his knife and held the female slave hostage. We backed down but the rogue hid himself and took the fleeting opportunity to tap the man on the shoulder with his mage hand and then stabbed him with his sword. After the female slave was safe we headed back to town. Although I had to clean my robes from all the blood. I don't know what came over me during the battle. I must learn to tame the beast within. EDIT: added text to support video.
heh heh heh.... yyyyeeeeah "it's hip to be square!"
Going back to town for a well needed rest and resupplies. My thoughts of Qulline Alderlead fresh in my mind, and Halia Thorton. I didn't want to attract unwanted attention to these people. So I decided to see the o'l Red brands drinking hole first to see if there was any new developments. The same o'l shady characters were there but know one I recognized. I ended up buying a few supplies oil, and dye for this new power I was blessed with. Then off to the Stony Inn were the party was relaxing with food and drink. I decided to write Halia Thorton this time for more discreet communication of payment for taking care of Glasstaff. I never thought my revenge would come threw a Dwarf and payment of coin for doing so. On the company's return inside the manor we came across a room with more red brands. A fight soon started when Muradin, Thoradin bottle necked the entrance into a room engaged in combat. Henry and myself went around to the other entrance to surprise them, but they weren't caught off guard. With a few maneuvers backwards they couldn't withstand our cunning wit in battle. It was there body's that laid still for the Eater of Men to feast on. Pressing forward threw the basement of the manor. We seen a human dodge back into a room and shut the door. Before we could pursuit the man. Something's started out of the sarcophagus. My eyes widened! Creatures of the underworld skeletons. Only in bard tales have I heard such monstrosities. I threw oil at one of them hoping fire would soon come from the mage. Then shooting a arrow hitting with minimal affect. The company fared better in handling them. Muradin had an idea of using some oil on the floor in front of the door but to no avail they didn't take the bait. Then he started bombarding the door with vicious hits. While I was goading them to surrender because once Muradin, Thoradin, and Henry got in there. I knew not even Selune's blessing would help them. Once the door was down a bloody battle was sure to follow. I was able to assist the party with some new found tricks, and the occasional arrow. Thoradin went down! I moved over to provided cover for the dwarf until Quinver could help. I continued to fire and one time I thought I hit Muradin with an arrow. He screamed aloud "ROGUE." There were screams of pain emitting from the room, and steal on steal ringing out into the halls. Until at the end when I heard a Red brand barking out threats to the party inside the room. " Get back or I'll kill her." He kept on with his threats, and didn't take long to imagine what was going on inside the room now. Hiding by the door next to a sarcophagus I watched as the group filed out of the room backing up. The scum with his hand around a women threatening the group and her passed me. An invisible hand touched him on the shoulder and distracted him momentarily so I could set him up for a precise stab to the back of his neck. He collapsed exactly how Muradin described a solider's death would be. In one of his story's overhearing one night on the trail.
As I stumbled back to town with the party, I thought about the past 24 hours. I had nearly died, but was completely touched by the camaraderie of my fellow adventurers. Maybe it was about time I started trusting them-- in fact Quinver saved me yesterday. I didn't even ask him to. What was also going through my mind was feeling I got when we rescued the mother and her children. I felt a sense of belonging-- like I was meant to be there to help. I never felt that I had a purpose up until that point. Who knows-- what I do know is that a long soak in a bath and a mug of ale will help me process what just transpired.

Leaving the Stony Inn and the company behind for the day. I couldn't tell them where I was going. The risk of the conversation of the Red Brands coming up at the dinner table or my past involvement with them was to great. I'm sure the dwarfs would of ate Dinner and Supper in one setting : ) Taking the long way to my Aunts house to make sure I wasn't followed. Upon my arrival to the farm sighing relief by Tymora that I'm here at all. Seeing young Carp run up was a nice surprise. The Ole trick of pulling coins from his ear had gotten easier with this new power I've learned. Then looking up seeing Aunt Quelline just reminded me of my parents that left Phandaline long ago for better mercantile prospects in Waterdeep, I was later told it was easier to take care of me here on the farm. Then traveling the dangerous roads between towns. Now I better understood with the ambush of Gundren Rockseeker and Sildar and my own adventures with the road. Perhaps one day I will escort my family's goods to towns abroad. I then thought of young Carp asleep and the dangers in the manor I left behind. Wandering if it was a good idea to leave that Nothic behind. Quelline chatted in length over evening tea. We talked about the farm and where my parents may be. I gave thought to my parents and perhaps hiring someone to help with farm chores.

After retrieving information of Bowgentle spellbook for sister Garele. We got back to the task of looking for Gundren south of Phandalin. Cragmaw Castle was the best lead to finding Mr. Rockseeker. One evening during my watch some nasty uglies came running into camp. I was able to alert the party with a simple alarm I had set up. Didn't know what humanoid dark creatures attack us that night but they stunk to high Hell s though. Taking scout detail all the way to Cragmaw Castle. I told the party I would take my time investigating the outskirts of the castle. Looking around the castle until I found what appeared to be a hidden passage. Sneaking back to the dwarven company. We cautiously moved through the ruined halls, I moved around to a door and heard a argument brewing through it. The party at the ready Muradin moved with purpose to kill anything in the room I followed. We both engaged what appeared to be a dark elf. I seen Thoradin coming into the room with Henry. I didn't want this dog to think I was dinner so I exited out of the room to engage the fowls with another tactic. I knew the dwarfs could handle the dark elf, dog, and hobgoblin. I would support them in other ways. To my surprise I seen another replica of myself move past Thoradin. It was scary to see myself, but not me running straight for me. I gave it a good Whack hitting it, but still it moved on. I gave chase until it was almost out of sight. I shot at it with my bow hitting it square in the back. I moved to it enthralled with this creature to be able to take my appearance I stabbed at to make sure it was dead. I didn't want this mystical creature getting back up to get us. I heard dwarf battle cries out for assistance, so upon turning towards the hall to the room. I seen two brutes moving towards the party. I had to act. Goading them to take aim at me with "Your Mothers as ugly as you!" That got one's attention! He ran for me going to eat me or something fowl I'm sure. However he received a blinding distraction swinging wildly only catching some of my cloak as I pressed on to the fight. There stood another hobgoblin looking ahead. I ran threw hoping he would not notice. I got hit by his weapon when I ran past his leg,and dodged Thoradin some how. I sprang for an elixir of life, and used my invisible hand to aid the Chultian wizard lying there. My arrival was to late after seeing Thoradin being dropped to the ground., I moved around behind Moradin to attack this Ugly with a surprise, but It was to my surprise however. Never witness such act of pure Dwarven strength as Thoradin got right back up splitting this big creature in halves!! We helped up Gundren from the wall. To find him still alive by Tymora and headed out of there.
After much frustration in town (Muradin was at his wit’s end looking for leads) trying to find the location of Cragmaw Castle, we decided to set off on the road to search for it ourselves. Not very long into our adventure we came across 6 goblins and 2 bugbears around a fire—it’s battle time. Henry takes care of 3 goblins with Burning hands. Henry hits a bugbear with thunder damage and makes quick work of another goblin. Finshire uses color spray and blinds the remaining two goblins. One of the blind goblins attacks Thoradin and even though blind, he makes contact. This sends Thoradin into a rage—he takes his greataxe and hits him in the shoulder—the axe slices through his body and explodes his heart. Another goblin down. Henry uses magic missile on the bugbear and goblin. Finshire shoots an arrow at one of the bugbears and it hits him square in the gut—felling him quickly. The final bugbear hits Muradin and Muradin returns the favor and decapitates him. The last goblin makes a break for it, but Fin thinks quickly and shoots him with an arrow. Now it is time for interrogation. The goblin gives up the location of Cragmaw Castle—he begs to be untied, but Muradin slices his throat quickly. The party decides to take a short rest and the push onward. We reach the edge of Neverwinter Wood and make camp. While Finshire is keeping watch, he hears a rustling in the bush—out jump 4 ghouls. Muradin swings at one of them and hits its arm. Thoradin decides to tag team the one ghoul and swings and makes contact. Angry—the ghoul attacks Thoradin and misses. Another ghoul hits Muradin and deals a bit of damage. The third ghoul hits Henry in his side. Henry decides to use shatter against three of the ghouls. The ghoul next to Henry takes significant damage, but is still alive. The ghoul that Muradin and Thoradin have been attacking falls. The third ghoul takes some damage as well. Finshire sneaks around to the rear of the ghouls and shoots one with an arrow—he makes contact. The ghoul is shaken, but still standing. Muradin—filled with rage—swings and cleaves the ghoul in front of him in half. Thoradin rushes toward the ghoul attacking Henry and swings with his greataxe. The ghoul is hurting. The ghoul is upset with Thoradin for attacking him and lunges for Thoradin doing damage and paralyzing him. Finshire is attacked by the second ghoul and is hit. Henry decides to hit the ghoul in front of Thoradin, Muradin, and himself with magic missiles. The ghoul explodes—its eyes eerily blinking and looking around. There is one left. Finshire takes out his short sword and swings for the fences. The ghoul stumbles backwards in pain. Muradin lunges forward to put the final ghoul to rest. He hits him critically and the ghoul almost falls. The ghoul swipes Muradin with its claws with all of its strength it has left. Henry uses magic missiles to hit the final ghoul—the ghoul’s face is annihilated. The ghouls are all dead. The party rests overnight and as soon a day breaks, they make their way to Cragmaw Castle. Finshire decides to investigate the surrounding area. Finshire comes back to the party and tells us what he has discovered. We head out to the castle and sneak into the first room. There are rotten crates everywhere, but thankfully no goblins to be found. Finshire opens the first door we see and it opens into another room with another door. As we listen to the door, we hear two people talking about some sort of payment. The gravely gruff voice gets louder—Fin checks the door—it is unlocked. Muradin kicks the door in and it splinters easily. Muradin sees a female drow, a wolf, and a bugbear. The drow elf turns around and says “I thought we had company. I believe I’ve heard of you Muradin.” She lunges forward and attacks. She hits Muradin solidly in the chest—Muradin charges forward at the drow. He hits the drow across her body. Finshire moves into the room cautiously. Fin swings with his short sword and hits the drow across the thigh. Thoradin moves into the room and swings at the back of the drow—he misses since he is still taking in the layout of the room. The bugbear stands up and throws the table at the wall and it shatters and splinters everywhere. Henry enters the room with a plan—he is going to use shatter. The drow, bugbear, and wolf all take damage but does not seem to be phased. Henry and Muradin see an unconscious dwarf on the floor—could this be Gundren. The drow suddenly turns to Henry and critically hits him—Henry is hurt, but still doing OK. Muradin drops both of his weapons and pulls out his greataxe—he swings shakily and misses. Finshire moves up beside Muradin and swings with his short sword. After missing, he disengages and moves out of the room. The drow raises her voice and addresses the bugbear: “you might want to take down the spellcaster.” The bugbear points at Henry and snarls: “KILL!” The wolf jumps forward and bites at Henry’s leg drawing blood. Thoradin swings at the drow—and hits her. The bugbear roars loudly and then swings at Henry. Gravely wounded, Henry casts thunderwave. The drow gets hit and is pushed back towards the wall. The wolf is bloodied by the attack. The drow’s eyes glaze over a little bit and melts and in her place Finshire is there. Finshire runs at superhuman speed out of the castle. Muradin swings at the wolf and misses. Finshire decides to chase the drow and he pulls out his bow and shoots. He hits her skillfully with an arrow to the back. She falls to the ground. The wolf attacks Henry—its teeth sink into Henry’s arm, but Henry throws up a shield. Thoradin swings at the bugbear but misses. The bugbear swings at Henry and knocks Henry unconscious. Muradin drops his greataxe and picks up his sword and shield and stabs the wolf. He hits it, spilling its guts all over the floor. Thoradin hears two hobgoblins in the hallway and they attack him—one misses pathetically and the other just barely hits. Finshire dashes back towards the room and yells at the hobgoblins. Thoradin swings furiously at the bugbear and hits him in the face and chest. The bugbear tries to return the attack but was still dazed and missed. Muradin stabs the bugbear and blood starts pouring out of yet another wound. One of the hobgoblins critically hits Thoradin and brings him within a few inches of his life. The other hobgoblin goes for Finshire , but misses. Finshire uses color spray and blinds the hobgoblin in front of him. After doing so, Fin dashes into the room next to Henry. Thoradin attacks the bugbear, but misses. He takes a second to heal himself up a bit. The hobgoblin still is not pleased with Thoradin and hits him. Negating all of the healing he has just done. Muradin swings and misses the bugbear. The hobgoblin swings at Thoradin and knocks him down. The hobgoblin lunges at Muradin, but Muradin attacks back and decapitates the hobgoblin. Thoradin stands up and in a fit of rage, he swings and cleaves the bugbear straight in half. Henry decides to heal himself up with a potion. Muradin swings for the hobgoblin, but misses. Thoradin decides to heal himself with a potion just like Henry. Henry decides to magic missile the hobgoblin that is in the hallway. The missiles hit him and kill the hobgoblin. After the battle is over, Muradin heads over to Gundren and tries to wake him up. Muradin realizes that Gundren is unconscious and needs to be revived. Before he tries to wake Gundren he searches the room for any treasure or information. Muradin finds a leather satchel under the bed. In it was 220sp 160ep 3 potions of healing and Gundren’s Map to Wave Echo Cave. Muradin throws Gundren over his shoulder and the party heads out of the castle and into the woods. Finshire scouts ahead and sees some hobgoblins. He runs back and tells us just in time to hide in the nearby bush. Exhausted from their adventure, the party heads back to Phandalin with the unconscious Gundren in tow.
Upon entering a room and lying comfortable on the bed. A round fire pit crackled in the middle of the room. Finshire's eyes looked past the fire and into the past. His memory's took him back to the time in Neverwinter. Playing cards with various patrons drinking and gambling his ill gotten gains away. The topic of powerful magic came about, and races of such talents. There were many names thrown around the table like the ever popular Elminster of Shadowdale, The Shadow King, and Khelben Blackstaff tower were just a few. This went on for awhile until an interesting looking elf spoke. Leaning up against the wall strumming a few chords from his lute. " The Red Wizards of Thay are some of the most powerful beings in all Faerun. They have created some of the most dangerous items ever conceived. Especially there ruler Szass Tam. They say he's a middle age man in appearance, but when hes angered he changes into a shadowy skeleton figure with eyes that could burn threw a man soul. I remember a time in Sembia heading for a tavern. There were a few red robe wizards standing about outside. When walking past them into the tavern I glanced at a sigil on there robes two hands grasping each other one human the other skeletal, and some other magical sigils. It is said these powerful mages can summon all sorts of undead creatures and unruly demons of O'le. Vampires that fly into the bedrooms to seduce young maidens and wizards commanding skeletal figures riding horses with zombie armies in tow. They can even create headless flame skulls of death that fly around without bodies, and resist most forms of harm even magic." Some humans at the table shook there heads in disbelief at the thought, but still held there attention to the tale's. Finshire continued to listened to the bards tale's of Red Wizards, and hero's saving Waterdeep. To songs of merefolk living off the Sword Coast. Through out the night Fin bought him several drinks from his winning's the suckers left at the card table. The dwarf's snores startled Finshire back to the room. This last battle was the bloodiest so far. The Company nearly bought the farm to the mine's horror's. He pondered while lying there sipping some wine, if the stake in the mine's treasure and finding the Rockseeker brothers was worth it. There better be a magic fountain of gold and platinum at the end to be mined instead of our bones in the future.
My party has completed many adventures but the one that sticks out in my mind is on day nine we went to the Old Owl Well. There was a ruined watch tower that had crumbling walls. The courtyard was covered with grass and trees. In the middle of the courtyard there was a colorful tent. I thought it might be empty, but the rogue saw a movement coming from inside. We all backed up and took our battle positions. To our surprise zombies slowly staggered out of the tent. I shot flames from between my hands and it significantly damaged them. Just as we were about to finish the kill a man came up from behind the zombies and he started to question us as to why we were killing his zombies. I was curious as to why this man wanted to create such creatures. Part of me wanted to understand why he would raise the dead for his own benefit. It is an evil thing to do, but my wizard side was intrigued as to how he created the magic to perform such a task. I decided to hear him out instead of killing his undead. After some talk the man wanted to know if I knew the name of the wizard who had built the tower, but I did not know. I asked my fellow party members if they knew the wizard's name. Thoradin had read a book about the area and remembered the name of the tower creator was Arthindal. I told the man who the wizard was. The man was curious as to who had told me the name and after finding out it was a dwarf in my party the man shooed me away. I couldn't believe that damn drunk knew more than me.
On day seventeen we found an ivy covered castle. It appears to be Cragmaw castle. We have been looking for this castle for two weeks and now it is upon us. Fin went ahead to investigate the area. While Fin is away, I prepare myself for what may come. Fin found a secret entry way to the castle. We carefully made our way to the castle and quietly entered in through the secret passage. After entering the door we heard voices talking about some sort of arrangement for payment. For what, we do not know. Muradin kicked the door in and found a wolf, bugbear and drow elf and a fight ensued. The threesome ganged up on me and I was able to continuously damaging them even after being beaten. In the end they outnumbered me and I was knocked unconscious. The next thing I remembered was Fin giving me a potion that helped increase my health. Thoradan was almost defeated by the gang, but he is very tough and was able to quickly spring back. Next time I won't put myself in the thick of things. I need to study on how to teleport myself out of a bad situation.
Not knowing if it was day or night. We started up again trying to clear out the nasty creatures of Wave Echo Cave and get a stake in the production of the mine. With that Flame skull still lurking in the other room, and no way to defeat it. Muradin thought it best to move in a different direction to clear out other areas of the cave. We left the confines of the comfortable room into the hall where I scouted ahead. I came upon a some Bugbears in a large room, and went back to tell the party what I've found. I came up with a plan of an oil flask, and ball bearing trap. It seemed to work in the past. The party went along with it and I placed an illusion of myself down the steps as well taunting the bugbears them to follow. One gave chase after my illusion and was set a fire. I heard another voice that didn't sound like any Bugbear. Commanding them and the rest retreated. Muradin, and Damion gave chase to the running foes, and after what direction they left. Henry and myself went the other way to a door where I thought they might of run into. I was right spying into the room Muradin was already engaged in battle. I manifested an Illusion of myself into the room to help distract some spider's, and the other Bugbears. It seemed to work for the moment. Then the spiders coated the two entrances with webs. I wasn't about to be caught up in that and become the spiders dinner! The fight was on with spiders, drows, and bugbears. Henry would blast them with his Chult magic, and Muradin would fight like a dwarf possessed. Slashing at any foe that came within reach of his sword. Damion would heal him as he got hit, mending some of his wounds. A spider came through the door biting me sending poison threw my body. I knew I couldn't keep up this pace. I ran down the hall and Henry dealt with the spider long enough for me to get a shot off from my bow. Henry dropped the spider, and came across another that was at the door. I heard Muradin throw out a plea, to give his sword to Thoradin. With a spider in my way, and caught between running down the hall, and my comrades plea. I dodged my way under the spider to see Muradin sword sticking in the web. I quickly grabbed it and dodged the hairy spider legs. I sprinted down the hall and glanced back to see Henry in tow. The spider didn't give chase this time. Henry came to me saying " We need to leave! In Chult I had to run and hide from big T-Rex's at times" I wanted to stay and hide to see for myself what became of my party members. To get any information about how long has this drow knew about our party, and the goals they had in this. Help Muradin escape from the clutches of the Drow's command! At that time I knew both were still alive for the moment. Looking down at my own poisonous wound. Henry talked me into leaving with him. I led us back to the mouth of the cave and we briefly rested there discussing what happen. We heard a noise coming down the hall, we both prepared our-self. It was a friendly site to be sure. Damian came down the hall exhausted from the fight with a staff helping him. In retrospect we were the ones that fell into the trap, and was a stake in the mine's production worth it, if were not alive to spend it.
Back in Phandalin there was some much needed information on our quest of clearing out Wave Echo Cave. Specifically the Flame Skull that rejuvenated. Watching the Rockseeker brothers finally together minus the third brother that didn't make it. They consoled in each other at a table. Fin left them to there own. Finshire gave pause to Muradin and the other brother that didn't make it. With all this traveling all over Faurun on foot. By Bane's balls there had to be a better way of getting around then walking. With newly coin acquired from the cave, Fin made his way to the Lion Coaster to see about a remedy for that . A large beast of burden would not do, but a large Mastiff would do just the trick. Fin had heard of such animals being used by his kin getting around. The owner gave some particular looks when ordering two mastiff's, one large and one small. With all that is needed to ride such a beast. With specific instructions of his order including a muzzle, leather armor, and chickens:) There were many questions that weighed on Finshire mind. Upon leaving the store he lingered around the miner's exchange until it was quiet. Perhaps Haila would have some information to some of these questions, and indeed she was most helpful about the Flame Skull creature and many other things. He left there and found himself in-front of Tymora's Temple and Sister Gerela. If anyone could help with some positive energy Tymora would surly answer the call. After spilling his misfortune about Muradin and Finshire's luck being absent. He placed the Evil staff of Lolth in a trunk. Fin, felt revitalized with a gift of holy water and a smile as he departed. Running back into Thoradin and Damion Fin asked them to have his back when going into the Sleeping Giant. He didn't know what to expect going back into that establishment and if the Redbrands had reformed there. He didn't want to be caught there outnumbered. The owner didn't particularly enjoy the visit and for good reason. Seeing there wasn't much going on except for the vermin that was probable around under the counters. They left back to the Stone Inn and too a new person sitting next to Sildar. A introduction of Theren a noble from somewhere. With much deliberation of why Gundren couldn't join and why the Noble Sildar was hesitant to fight in his stead. Finshire being the smallest one there thought to himself Ha Nobles! The Brave company headed back to Wave Echo Cave for death or for glory!
Traveling though the mountains to take few days off our journey. It also felt like home for Guipagho. The party moved during the day at a good pace and with good spirits. However, several nights came with hoarded dreams of war, dreams of fire, dreams of dragons fire, and the things that would burn. Guipagho slept with one eye open, gripping his pillow tight : ) The following day the party came upon two Hill Giants. Guipagho hid behind a rock to ambush these foes. Theren transformed into a tiger creature that took him by surprise. Not knowing if the ambush was upon him or not. He gripped his great axe and readied his furry. He sprung into action after Theren went to strike the giants. Guipagho went in slashing with abandonment on these giants. Wailing his greats ax at there legs and feet. He took multiple bludgening strikes from these formidable foes knocking him senseless. Guipagho didn't even notice Gobs healing or inspiration that was upon him as he ragged on. Later he would thank him for the blessing of vitality, and reminded him of Toodga the shaman that aided him back to health. Theren the Tigerman moved with great finesse in and out of the battle. The Tigerman hit the giants with lighting quick blows, and even knocked one off his feet to give us an advantage. The wolf took over pure savagery came from Guipagho spatting out words of hate as he wailed on the fallen giant. At last the two giants were no more. Guipagho watched Theren change back into his original form. He heard of shamans being able to turn into there totem, but to actually see it was magical. We came across the bandit encampment close to Red Larch where Leosin said it would be. We moved with caution on the banks of the camp. Surveying the camp from atop the embankment we found away in. We followed some hunters into a cave. Just inside there were two sentries at the ready, but they weren't ready for what happen next. A quick search was rewarded with a nice scabbard and scimitar. Proceeding further into the cave out came some angry looking drakes that nearly surprised us. Guipagho swung his ax trying to cut off the horn of the beast. Eventually it would be a trophy for him to drink out of, and the hide could come in use. He learned that Gob took some enjoyment in tanning the hide that produced interesting material. Investigating the rest of the cave showed that the bandits were breeding these drakes. A cool room with food for these things, and the apparent training room with caged drakes confirmed his thoughts. With little delay with traps we proceeded further in to the cave.
