Hello! Thanks so much for taking a look at this post! I'm posting for myself and a group of three other friends looking to join in on a campaign during the week (some time during Monday-Thursday). Almost all of us DM for one another, but we're really wanting to get the experience of playing all together! The group would prefer a homebrew setting, and we're very roleplay heavy. We tend to make really detailed backstories, and would love to both interact with the world and see our characters incorporated within it. However, we're also happy to do meaningful combat. I'd say around 50+% RP, 25% combat, 25% exploration. Of course, that can fluctuate depending on where we're at in the world and how far into the plot we've gotten. We really love unpacking a complex, intriguing plot and getting to know the world our dm has built. So if that could be a heavy element of the game, that would be awesome! Especially including history, religions/gods, etc. All of that is so fun and we want to take a part of that. We're open to all sorts of genres as long as it maintains at least some semblance of a medieval fantasy element. We're absolutely open to joining an existing campaign, working with you on an idea you have already, or working with you to build a world if you're starting out with a blank slot. We're all very flexible and, while we really want to play alongside each other, want to also prioritize the fun of the dm! As a part of being roleplay-heavy in our playstyle, we really would appreciate a dm who knows how to walk the line between having a cohesive ruleset and also rewarding ingenuity and upholding rule of cool. We play over Discord voice chat and typically use Roll20 as our tabletop simulator. We would be open to learning other tabletop sites so long as they are free to use. Our group is typically good with handling serious content, but would prefer to avoid any really upsetting content like sexual assault or graphic descriptions of child/animal deaths - the usual stuff. We'd also prefer to keep the group strictly adults and would rather nobody under the age of 18 apply. Another important note is that all of the people in our friend group are LGBT+ and whoever ends up running our game must either be an avid supporter of the community or a member themselves. We'd also, depending on the dm's comfort with it, have thought it might be fun to start a d&d podcast! But if that isn't of interest, it's definitely no big deal.
