After a minute it became clear that the only one aware of us was a large undead dog outside the door. Strom suggested that we let it come through the door where we could deal with it without anyone seeing us. Everyone got in position and Lea used her mage hand to lower the bar and open the door. The dog moaned and pushed its way through the door. I was taken aback by the speed of the attack and before i even had a chance to do something it was destroyed. Then another dog came lumbering up the steps to the door. I used my divine power to pull the life force from it then gave it a bash with my power fist but the creature was still standing. Wrendell charged in, bashing the dog back outside and rushed out after it to finish it off. 'No! Stay inside. You'll give away our element of surprise.' 'Yes! This will be a huge surprise! Ahhhh.' Well the fight was on. There was no turning back now. As we dashed across the courtyard to the inner keep, more guards came running to try and stop us but their resistance was short lived. The battle crashed into a great hall where we were then set upon by an undead chef, Ghouldon ' Crackbone ' Ramsey. "Get the F*** out of my Kitchen!" With his angry cries and the alarm from outside it didn't take long for the room to be stormed by other foes. From adjacent rooms came more guards, ghouls, another ghost knight: General Grimslade, and a familiar looking Darakhul. Vuhka Shroudson had attacked us during our journey to find The Court in Exile.  'Focus your attacks! Hold them at the doors to stop them overwhelming us! Arrrgh I'm hit' The battle raged on all sides. Needing more space to move I started picking up seats and using them as weapons then through the door we saw a terrible sight. A blood sister was completing some kind of sacrifice and one of the Spear Maidens was turning into one of the monstrous undead. Someone screamed an horrific curse and one corner of the room was filled with writhing black tentacles. Things were looking really bad when finally the General went down giving us a much needed morale boost. It didn't take too much longer before the undead were defeated and the remaining guards threw down their weapons in surrender. We were victorious but the Spear Maiden paid dearly. I rushed to her body hoping to try and do a recovery but it was much too late. Her soul had been twisted out of her in the horrific rites. She did however still have on her the holy relic we had been searching for. The Robes of Sister Adelind.
