New to.... Well everything =3

Hey there! So I'm in no place to be classified as a beginner when it comes to knowledge of Fantasy and Rollplay, I can't get enough! But when it comes to actually playing or joining a game, I'm completely lost.... I have no idea where to start and I'm too afraid to join a "welcomes new players" group for fear of looking like a complete tool and not knowing what I'm doing at all :( Anyone willing to help a wanna be rollplayer out and teach me where to start or just share some VERY basic information on how to play? Thanks a ton :)

Pick the game system you want to play and purchase a copy of its core rulebook. Read through it to get an understanding of the mechanics and then use the Looking For Group Tool or forum to find a group. The LFG tool has a specific search category for new players, so these GMs are expecting players who are still learning the ropes.

You just shouldn't worry Malik, any game you join is going to take a minute to get acquainted (typically over voice chat) and if you need that 5 minutes of explanation for where the buttons are and how things work, they'll be happy to explain. And really - there's not anything else to learn as a player. The GM will assign you a token and give you the ability to move your own token, so you don't need to deal with any of that. The dice rolling and chat windows are very self - explanatory, and if theres anything specific you need to know or push, they'll tell you where to look. Just jump right in!

As a GM if i have put on the "Welcomes new players" I will always assume you know nothing about the system, roll-playing or in general anything we would be doing. However that just means any knowledge you would have is a bonus. I think most GMs thinks the same way in that regard. If they allow new players in they are probably aware that you know little to nothing and that they must be ready to teach you. So with that in mind I say you should try and be brave and join a campaign that allows new players. I´m currently looking for 1 more player even and feel free to send me a PM on Roll20 if you wish to know more.
I have a new campaign withthe pathfinder setting. Let meknow if youd like to join. It roleplay focused to helo new players transition into mechanics. I run it sundays at around 8-noon depending if everybody is ready. Runs for quite a few hours. Its basically a massive tutorial for peoplethat dontknowroleplaying or mechanics. Plus, i also run it like a regular game so it doesnt feel like a classroom but instead, a real game. Learning andhaving fun, all in session. Let meknow if youd want to try it out in a private message so i can start getting you ready for sundaysgame. My last playerdoes text only for shyness, but eventually well transition to standard. I acomodate any style.
