Arranging/Sorting Custom Token Markers within a set

It would be nice if we could arranger and/or sort Custom Token Markers within a set. This way we can keep them alphabetically, or group them by type/color, or arrange them in any order we like. Being able to manual sort them would be great. An option to have it alphabetically sort them would be nice too.

This would actually be useful, for instance, as you said. Buff -> Debuff->Conditions.

Very true. I made my own Token Markers for GURPS and a good number of people are using the. But I need to be able to sort them aphetically when I add new ones or else they have to reload the entire set. Also if they are using TokenMod script the ID number then change if they have to reload the entire set.

+1 Great idea and something we certainly need.

Making sets so you can edit them on the fly, changing their properties and the like might go a long way toward making Roll20 useful, again.

+1 Hope this gets implemented

D&D, from 3 onwards, is a very buff oriented system of magic and token makers are used all the time to remember status in combats taking more than one session. Something that improves the organization of these markers is a good idea. This gets my vote!

love this idea

+1 There's so many times I re-order these manually (when I forget an icon), would be nice to have it built-in.

I'll buy that option for a dollar :)

I’ve bought some sets on the Marketplace and now I’m making my own customs. The only real frustration I’m experiencing with them is organizing them! Being able to drag them into where I’d like them in the listed order would be fantastic; having a button to alphabetize them would be ideal; and having options for organizing them into groups would be a welcome option!

Giving a bump and a vote to this, because it would be a very pleasant quality of life upgrade -- I actually assumed this was already a feature until I added to a custom token set that I use and found out otherwise.

Bumping too - i would love it

I delete and reload my custom set each time I add a new marker to keep them alphabetical. I would like to not have to do this.

While we're on the topic, can we also have an option to tag the colored circles in the default set since we cannot remove them?

+1 to this, it's so discouraging knowing that if I add a cool new status marker, it'll be annoying to scroll through unless I reload the whole set, breaking all the APIs that use marker IDs and creating more work...

I just painstakingly went through a bunch of token status markers and reorganized them to my needs, separating them into folders thinking this was already a feature...only to find out that they just get alphabetized anyway. Needless to say, I'm mildly annoyed. I would really like to organize my markers, or at least have subheadings for which pack they're in. (I labeled them as "Condition Markers," "Buffs," etc.)

I hear you! More good points.

I concur, I often find myself choosing a sub optimal token marker b/c my custom set is not easy to navigate/sort.

Another +1 to this. With certain parties, certain markers are used CONSTANTLY and not being able to put those at the front (so I have to scroll through long lists of them) is pretty annoying.

I would also like to upvote this.    Yes I understand that you can delete and re-do the set, but that also gives them different IDs and any APIs that are referencing them would be broken.     APIs should be a bonus, a benefit, not something that causes us to be afraid to make changes to minor parts of our game (like status markers).

+1, this would be a great help

+1 to the basic idea.  I'd also like some kind of customizable hover-text (rather than the graphic file name). Which squiggle I'm using for "unconscious" vs "stunned" vs "incapacitated" is sometimes hard to remember.

I wanted to do this after realizing myself that I couldn't do it. I searched the forums and found this topic. And several others (all closed).

That's quite impressive. Anyway, I'm glad this topic is past the threshold of being closed.

EDIT: Found another.

I actually put up this topic, missing this post.  I'll go shut mine down and recap it here:

Currently it seems the only way to get a precise order for a Token Set is to upload them in the precise order you want them to appear.  This is a really terrible mechanic, that requires I pretty much nuke and reset the entire Token Marker Set to make a change or put a new marker I want closer to the top.

I would really love an ability to simply 'move up' or 'move down' a marker in the Marker Library editor so I can reprioritize them as needed!
