We’ve discovered a specific set of circumstances with popular software Grammarly which can significantly affect Roll20 site performance. In our testing, we’ve found that the Desktop version in combination with a Firefox browser on Windows can cause performance degradation up to, and including, crashes. We’re in communication with both Firefox and Grammarly to find a solution. If you are experiencing bad performance, please shut down the Grammarly Desktop software. Instructions here. In all our test cases, this has immediately resolved the issue, without needing a refresh in Firefox. If your browser becomes locked or frozen, you may need to close the tab or window and reopen Roll20. Neither the Chrome browser, MacOS, nor Grammarly browser extensions have been found to cause issues.
