Several prominent members of Korthos were kidnapped during the sahuagin raid on the village, with many fearing that they have been taken away to act as sacrifices for The Devourer. Ursa  has tracked the sahuagin reavers to an abandoned aqueduct complex in the island's south, and  Mayor Storr  is offering a reward of 350 gold pieces to each adventurer who ventures out and successfully brings back his kidnapped family and citizens. Having already rescued several prisoners, there are still more requiring a daring rescue and Gimble is looking for minions helpful allies to aid in the attempt IRL Date - 23/24 March In-game date - 27th Uktar Player Character Detail Party Role PP/Surv Paid Soap Gimble Level 6 Rock Gnome Artillerist Artificer Leader/Hero/Blaster/Hero 13/+1 untrained Y Crimton Sylander Level 4 Survival Domain Cleric Primary Healer / Emergency Tank 14/+8 Trained Y Cody Henryk Level 3 Hagspawn Great Ooze Warlock Spitting mad, ooooooooze 7 / -1 Trained n Magus Invictus Level 3 Triton Oath of the Deep Paladin Water specialist!! 11/ +3 Trained Y Joe Mystana Level 2 Warlock of the Great Old One Wandering round suspicious locations, DPS, questionable songwriting 12/ 0 untrained Y Emilia Maple Level 3 Pixie Fencer Fighter Don't call her Cinnamon!! Thought that time was a little off!    Hopefully a slot still available for Jereboam afer his current quest.
Looks good, very keen. I will make a decision of character based on how Ragemaw pans out. If Uriel survives there is strong chance he can ding 6 and pick up water breathing.

It's possible we may have to move it anyway (signups not looking super healthy) but I suspect that will lead to a dungeon "restock" and possibly the death of some of the prisoners...

Can confirm Sylandar for continuation :3
If the group considered pushing the in game date back for this, Invictus could join with his aura of granting water breathing, the ability to cast spells and the ability to make missle attacks without penalty in a 15' radius while underwater.
Henryk is probably chilling on korthos as he was a member of the first group there, guess its time to gob on some people. Player Character Detail Party Role PP/Surv Paid Haglad Henryk Level 3 Hagspawn Great Ooze Warlock hhkk ptui (gob) 7/ -1 (trained)

OOC - Totally happy to push back but need to check if that would mean prisoners die/dungeon restocks - and/or if it allows Gimble to level up...  Gimble hadn't levelled because we were heading straight back out but if we're pushing beyond 8 days (or more) after we got back from the last trip, then he might spend some time with his experiments!
Cheers, let me know.

If it is pushed back I can confirm Uriel (Ragemaw willing)

It looks like 15 days after we returned with the prisoners if we wait for Invictus (or about 11 days if we wait for Jereboam - assuming he survives Green Glows)
I'd be happy with either but I think Invictus with his water theme would be more helpful to that party.
I think we’ll probably push the in game date back. Dungeon will probably get reinforced but it’s unclear if Gimble was waiting for reinforcements or if he just lost track of time working in his experiments…
Cheers Soap, much appreciated. In that case put down: Player Character Detail Party Role PP/Surv Paid The Magus Invictus Level 3 Triton Oath of the Deep Paladin Water Breathing for all, first responder 11/+3

FYI I will definitely be joining it just depends which character, if given the high likelihood that Ragemaw is more complicated than a single session stick Mystana in this one, if not I may swap out Player Character Detail Party Role PP/Surv Paid Joe Mystana Level 2 Warlock of the Great Old One Jazz Flute DPS/ Entertainer Extraordinaire 12/+0 (Not trained)
What are people’s thoughts on the time for this… personally it would be better an hour later at the “normal” time (6pm UK) but not sure if that works for others?

For me it would be better as I don’t get Home until 4:50 but whatever the group prefers I’m down for. Also gonna switch out my character for my level 1 human Flagellant, will post deets when I get home.
Anytime works for me on Wednesday
It would be good for me too. I could get a lil nap after work

It looks like consensus is to move this to the "normal time" - although that is still an hour later than normal for our US players due to Daylight Savings. Chris - can we update the time (and the title details) of this to:  Wednesday 23rd March - 11:00 Pacific/ 14:00 Eastern/ 18:00 UK/ 22:00 Georgia/ Thursday 24th March 04:00 Brisbane/ 05:00 Sydney
I get squeezed with the new time from my end (start of work day) but I can manage it for this date.

Your Majesty! You have blessed me once more with pure inspiration! A truly majestic tragedy has unfolded. I accompanied the doomed do-gooder Invictus to Korthos, a mysterious island beset by Sahuagin how exciting! We journeyed with a range of fascinating characters whilst we were there, a mad tinker called Gimble Nimblehands (supposedly the lord of the isle but I have my doubts), Henryk Vileblood (a hagspawn covered in ooze!), the dead priest Sylander (raised by helm to fight indefinitely to protect the weak) and the fearsome Maple (destined for a bloody end!) We were to rescue several enslaved villagers, apparently, some had been recovered already, from a Sahuagin nest south of the isle. Our journey was the best part of the day, but when we arrived, we came across a villager who had been attacked and left unconscious. Apparently, a sinister creature had set their pet spiders on her. Invictus and Sylander roused her to health and Henryk provided an invisibility illusion so she could return to Korthos undisturbed. We dealt with the guards at the cave entrance before resting for the evening. I had the chance to discuss Maple’s hopes and dreams, she wishes to become famous, more so than her sister… Well not to spoil anything but be careful what you wish for. After an uninterrupted evening of rest, we descended into the depths of the cave. Invictus blessing gave us the gift of water breathing but as we progressed through the tunnels, we were assaulted on all sides by Sahuagin and a giant shark! The battle was ferocious, but we prevailed. You would be so delighted your majesty! Your inspiration coursed through my music, ravaging the blood-crazed shark folk. Eventually, the tunnels were quiet and we turned our attention to finding the prisoners. Some deliberation was had but eventually, we turned south, a fateful decision. Initially, we came across a clutch of Sahuagin eggs, Gimble and Henryk recovered two but the oaf Invictus destroyed the rest in his antipathy. After this we drifted on, eventually, Invictus and Maple reached another chamber only to be surrounded by more fiendish Sahuagin. Amongst them, their leader was performing a deliciously macabre ritual. The odds were not in our favour and so we resolved to retreat. Gimble, in his haste for fame and fortune, swam back through the cavern to look for the prisoners, alas he merely provoked a pincer attack from more Sahuagin. It was at this point the purpose of the ritual became clear. Slithering through the dark a shadowy demon had been summoned, we were trapped. On one side shark folk on the other a malevolent entity intent on subsuming us. Interestingly the deluded beast asked to entreat my loyalties. Haha, a naïve fool! Yours is the only majesty I will kneel too. The only course available was to flee and so the tragic struggle began, Gimble obscured the Sahuagins advance with ink and Maple with Invictus fought those that emerged from the dark. Sylander in his effort to protect us all was grasped by the Shadow Beast, his holy oath fulfilled he was dragged into the depths never to be seen again! Despite the efforts of the Sahuagin I fled with Henryk, Gimble and Invictus. However, as I turned, I saw dear Maple fall to a frenzy of Sahuagin teeth, a truly bloody end! As I reached the shore I was blessed with new inspiration! A song for brave and tragic Maple, I wonder what revelations will unfold from this new melody, maybe Maple lingers yet?
Sacrifies to the Devourer – Blood in the Water As told by Invictus Sanctimonius Lautanus, The Ocean’s Wrath As Persana wills it, so shall it be!   I continue on the great task set me by Holy Persana, to retrieve the Eternal Song of Wind and Wave. Exhausted from my disastrous foray into the Barrow Down I decided a change in tack was needed.  There was word of a Sahaughin menace on the Island of Korthos so I determined to journey there to take up arms against the ancient foe. The quixotic Mystana joined me on the journey to Korthos and there we met a group of likeminded companions, some of whom had already made a move against the sea devils and recued some of their prisoners. My companions are as follows: Item the first.   The afore-mentioned Mystana, a curious soul motivated by strange artistic desires.  A warlock who gains her power from an entity she refers to as ‘The Queen’. Item the second.  Sylander.  A sinister looking being who seemingly had returned from the dead.  Nevertheless a brave and good hearted cleric of Helm. Item the third.  Henryk.  A fascinating creature that seems to be a living ooze.  Another warlock, this one owing allegiance to some slime like entity.  Yet it proved a powerful and staunch companion during the travails to come. Item the fourth.  Mapel, a brave and dashing pixi wielding a tiny rapier with flair.  The first to get to any fight and unbelievably brave in the face of even extreme adversity.  A warrior to the core. Item the fifth.   Gimble.  A rampant narcicist.   On learning of the plight of the villagers there was nothing to it but to leave for the section of the island where the Sahaughin lair was located.  The journey took a little over half a day and passed uneventfully. When we reached the vicinity of the caves we spotted an injured woman propped against some rocks on the sea shore.  We moved forward to investigate and between us Sylander and I managed to restore her to health.  Her name was Tamari and she told of having entered a strange ice cave where a large being threatened her and an icy spider bit her in the side. She fled for her life but only reached the beach before her strength failed her.  After our healing efforts she was much better and was able to return to her village, aided by an invisibility spell cast by Henryk to protect her on her way.  A good deed done! We briefly considered investigating the cave but the kidnapped villagers were a priority. We waded into the ocean to reach the entrance to the Sahaughin lair.  Persana’s blessings grant that all close to me can both breathe and cast spells underwater.  It’s a mighty boon and several of the team stayed close to me to gain its benefits.   We had barely entered the water when we were attacked by a group of four Sahaughin.  Sylander was badly injured as the creatures focussed their attacks on him.  One of them spat a type of foul poison that greatly impeded the revenant before I restored him with Persana’s holy touch.  Maple and I fought them hand to hand while Mystan and Henryk lashed them with blasts of eldritch fire.  The foe were defeated though we had taken some considerable hurts.  Gimble was no-where to be seen in the fight. Given the danger of taking on a Sahaughin’s lair we determined to rest and restore ourselves before entering.  I was grateful for the respite as I was still greatly wearied from by trek into the Barrow Downs. We passed the night without incident and in the morning made our way into the underwater lair.  It was very dark down there so Maple was forced to summon dancing lights to illuminate the way for those not blessed with the ability to see in the dark.  This would prove to a something of a curse as it alerted the Sagauhin to our presence.  We explored to the North and found the area where the pervious group of prisoners had been rescued.  There were no more to be found so we headed East.   Soon we were attacked by a large number of Sahaughin as well as three of their sharks, including a beast of great size. The battle was chaotic and deadly for once the Sahaughin taste blood they enter into a killing frenzy.  Brave Maple held down one flank by herself while the weight of the other attack fell on Sylander and Mystana.  I moved to assist them, healing Sylander and Mystana before striking at the hated foe with my trident. Over time we gained the upper hand and then defeated the foe utterly.  We were bloodied and tired, but surely success was in our grasp. How many more foes could there be? Fatefully we headed South instead of North.  A short passage brought us to the egg chamber of the accursed foe.  Henryk suggested the eggs might not be innately evil.  An interesting through and I pondered it briefly as I smashed as many eggs as I could.  While I can appreciate some species might not be born evil, I concluded it was simple ignorance on his part as to the evil and lethality of the Sahaughin.  Still, he kept one egg for himself, as did Mystana.  They will surely regret it when the eggs hatch. With the eggs destroyed we headed West and found an opening to a higher level of the cave complex.  Maple and I swam up to investigate, which alas alerted a Sahaughin High priest and over a half dozen followers.  Here disaster befell our party.  As we retreated in the hope of finding more defensible ground, a shadowy demon of great evil attacked us.  It made a foul offer of subservience and alliance but that was a travesty not even the warlocks could stomach.  Our line was strung out and confused and Gimble had run off somewhere only to return bringing more foes. In the dark chaos that followed I only have a dim accounting of what happened.  Sylander was struck by the foul magics of the demon and I move to assist him in order for us to retreat back to the others.  I would have dearly liked to fight the demon but I knew my weapons would do little harm to such an evil being.  I saw Maple further back, surrounded by Sahaughin and moved to assist but became lost in waters that were inky black.  By the time I got back into open water most of my companions had retreated from the caves (led by the quick to flee Gimble of course).  I looked back towards Maple and saw she had fallen, a pack of sea devils feeding on her corpse.  Of Sylander there was no sign, had he managed to flee in the confusion?  The lifeless eyes of the Sahaughin fixed on me and seeing no chance to prevail or serve Persana’s cause in any meaningful way, I fled the caves. Once I was with my companions it because clear that Sylander too must have perished in those haunted caves.  As we recovered from our wounds in Korthos word reached us that the Sahaughin had vacated their lair due to the losses we inflicted on them.  It was cold comfort given the loss of Sylander and Maple, two heroes who gave their lives in the service of good.  What next?  I feel a strong need for redemption and there is much still to do on Korthos.  I think I shall abide here for a time. As Persana wills it, so it shall be!
