Checkout Error

Hello, I have been trying to buy the "Tales From the Yawning Portal" campaign from the marketplace using PayPal for the past two days now but every time I try to buy it, I get this error during checkout: Each time the error code is different but the same text of "An error was encountered Don't worry; it's not like you triggered the end of the world...right?" shows up. I have already sent in a request ticket about this problem but figured I could also make a post about it just in case anyone else is experiencing this issue and knows a solution/is looking for a solution as well. Things I have tried to do but has not fixed it are: Restart my computer Try it on different browsers Try to buy it on my phone Thank you for any and all help that may come!

Best thing to do is to file a  Help Center Request . Since this involves personal account information, they will not handle it under open forum. Don't worry, though. Roll20 are good folks and will get you sorted out.

I did this yesterday already and am still waiting for a response (I don't mind, I didn't expect to get an immediate response from them as I know they can be very busy). I just wanted a place that I can post the issue for the following reasons: 1- If anyone knows how to fix it in a way that is simple and quick that way I can buy the campaign as soon as possible 2- Have a thread for anyone with the same issue to see and find a fix for if possible

Roll20 typically works business hours, and weekends are often only to fix emergencies with code (in my experience). I'm sure you'll get a response soon. In general, if something goes wrong at the top level like that, the first thing I would try is doing the transaction while logged in under a private browsing window. That should knock out potential interference by the cache as well as most cookies and extensions.

I didn't try checking out in a private browsing window but I did get a response back from the Roll20 team. They let me know that my error is on PayPal's side so I should contact them to get the problem resolved. I decided instead of going through the issue of calling PayPal to try and get it fixed that I would just use a credit card instead (which I know is a simple solution to the problem, I just typically prefer to pay for things using PayPal instead of inputting credit card information.) For anyone who has this issue in the future, likely the issue is due to PayPal and if PayPal is the only way that you can pay, you will probably have to get into contact with them to get the issue resolved and let you pay with Paypal on Roll20.
