Import JSON from savaged.us to SWADE tabbed character sheet?

I was just over on savaged.us and I see that there is now an option to export JSON to the tabbed character sheet. But when I tried to import to the tabbed SWADE sheet, I couldn't find any import field. I know that up till now, import was possible only with the standard SWADE sheet, but when I saw that new option on savaged.us, I figured there must be a way to import JSON to the tabbed sheet. I tried switching to the standard sheet a while back so I could import characters from savaged.us, but that caused chaos the next time we tried to play--the clickable links on the character sheets were no longer clickable. I had to switch back to the tabbed sheet, which is why I'm hoping JSON import is somehow possible Is there a way to import to the tabbed sheet that I'm overlooking? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! --Steve a.k.a. Master Solomoni of "Savage STEVE WARS"

As far as I’m aware, the Official Savage Worlds sheet is the only one that supports importing from savage.us
That's what I was afraid of. It's weird, then, that savaged.us has created a specific export type claiming to the for the tabbed sheet as one of the many recent improvements to their site. I was hoping that they had coordinated with Roll20 to get the tabbed sheet revised to accept JSON input, but I guess not. I guess I'll head back over to savaged.us and see if their admins can tell me anything. Thanks! --Steve

The roll20 team are only responsible for games systems that have By Roll20 after the name. Everything else is created and maintained by volunteers. So to make the import for the tabbed sheet wouldnt ivolve the roll20 dev team in any way - instead people on the savaged.us site have made a best-guess attempt, and the maintainer of the tabbed sheet might or might not have been involved. Ideally the savaged.us team and the tabbed sheet maintainer would talk to each other to get it working, but both are volunteers, and might not be able to.

I used to maintain the tabbed sheet, I don’t any longer (don’t really have time), but I believe the export billed as for the “tabbed” sheet likely is structured for that sheet and would just require someone to add a field and build a sheet worker to manage it. I haven’t looked at the export JSON, but if it’s the one I’m thinking if, it would mostly be a one to one mapping, and the trickiest part would be caring for things in repeating fields.
OK, understood. I totally get volunteers not having time--I myself would LOVE to learn how to create a character sheet specifically for my home-brew STAR WARS setting, but I just don't have the time either. I've discovered a partial workaround: I created a copy of Savage STEVE WARS a while back that I'm using solely for fiddling with characters that I want to import from savaged.us: I use the standard JSON code export, import that to the official SWADE sheet in my dummy game, and then switch the dummy game's character sheet to the tabbed version and export to the Character Vault. From there, I export the character to Savage STEVE WARS and make the necessary tweaks and clean-ups to the sheet. (For example, any undefined skills generate gibberish code when I pull a statblock on the character, as do any damage rolls--attack rolls work, however.) It's not ideal, but since I'm creating characters to serve as templates for different STAR WARS species, it beats entering each species' traits entirely manually. Thanks to both of you! --Steve

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you don't use the Official Savage Worlds sheet? At this point, I believe it has, for the most part, parity with some of the more fringe parts of the Tabbed sheet, and it supports Compendium drag and drop?
Well, I've found that it doesn't work with the statblock feature--unless I'm doing something wrong. Also, I like the look of the tabbed sheet better.
