Hello All , I recently moved to San Jose ,CA for work, and I am looking for a local gaming group. I would love to be a player, but as GMs are in short supply, I'm throwing my hat into the ring to GM. I've plenty of experience as a player, but have only GM'ed a handful of sessions for some newcomers. I would plan to start with some pre-written adventures that eventually spin their way into a fantasy setting that is a mix of homebrew locations along with some more standard D&D locations. My style is usually light-hearted, although I am not afraid to bump up the drama here and there. I am open to a more remote group; however, I would need to talk to anyone interested in more detail to make sure everyone's expectations are on the same page and that we can effectively communicate. As far as timing, I was thinking ~3-4hr sessions once a week or every couple weeks, but can be flexible for life things. While I am a CIS man, I welcome people of any race and gender identity to my table. I am also open to including safety tools (by anonymous request of any player) to ensure everyone is comfortable in the game and at the table. Lastly, as TTRPGs are a hobby meant to be fun for all involved, conversation about game related things (rules, themes, etc) will be welcome. That said, there will be a very low tolerance for being disrespectful of other players or myself on a personal level. Please message me directly if you are interested or if you have any questions.
