After a short rest we got prepared and headed back to Huldramose; the journey only broken by an ogre hunting party. "This is our job sisters. Group up and ready your spears!" The fight didn't last long though and only strengthened our bond with the Huldra. The next day we got back to the town with our tale of success. Ironeyes praised our efforts and explained to the queen how without our assistance they would not have had such an epic victory. The Huldra queen was most happy with us and told us there was some news. "I will take you to our oracle. The witches have completed their divination though the news is not all good." To the edge of town is the oracles hall. We have to stoop inside while the witch explains the details. "Hee hheee he.  Young ones. Our vision is of a dire nature. We have seen this Midnight Temple and know where it stands but you will not like the answer. The temple is in NORDHEIM!" Nordheim... "Where's Nordheim?" Our party members look at each other, baffled by this place name. Then I recalled the tales of old. 'Ah Nordheim. The forbidden city of the Reaver Kings. They say a darkness came up from below to take the city and Odin himself sanctioned the area as cursed. Their evil was such that the dead of Nordheim are no longer permitted into the afterlife.' "That's right golden one. At least as legend would have it. Even our eyes cannot clearly see a truth there but still, this is where you must venture if you do still intend to attend this Blood Wedding." We returned to the Queen's hall to discuss our plan of attack. There were a lot of questions. How far is it to Nordheim? What is the best route? How long until the New Moon? The Queen is more than happy to help us in our mission and tells us that she can call on a special favour from her patron Sif. The priests are gathered and a ceremony is performed culminating in a massive crash of thunder and lightning as if the heavens opened above us. Looking up we could see the silhouettes of large winged beasts flying down. As they got closer we could see that the creatures were massive winged wolves ridden by Valkyrie warriors.  The Valkyrie landed in the square sitting proudly and majestically on their fearsome steeds. "Hail sisters of Sif. To what honor are we summoned here this day?" "My lady, We beseech you to assist our guests. A great evil is stirring in the North and they must address it. I ask only that you carry these brave warriors to their appointment in Nordheim." "NORDHEIM, you know that place is forbidden. We can not go to Nordheim to meddle in your worldly affairs." "Can you take us close?" Asked Nickolai " Only as close as you can. Time is of the essence in this affair. "This we can do.There is a river that marks the border between Wolfheim and Nordheim. We can carry you there. but you will have to walk the rest of the way." "Thank you, great ones. Your help will not be forgotten." "Let us fly then. All aboard!" We were all then seated up on the flying beasts with a Valkyrie and flown up into the chill spring sky. The 200 mile trip took 5 days. We followed the rivers and avoided flying over the mountains. Each night we camped back on the ground then flew all day. When we got to our destination the Valkyrie pointed us in the right direction. "There is a pass through the mountains. Travel North through the forest. Be wary, It is filled with darkness and death." We gave our thanks once again as they flew away. On the ground we got ourselves ready and set off into the dark pine woods. The strange thing was how quiet the woods were. This place was old and dark, even during daylight I had my light shining ahead. The old road was totally overgrown and we left the trail more than once. Nearing the end of the first day something could be heard out in the darkness, hoofbeats and an odd clattering sound. We grouped together and made ready for trouble when from out of the mist came a troop on horseback. Skeletal horses mounted by ghouls wielding lances. 'Who goes there strangers? And what brings you to these woods this night?' I was not foolish enough to mention our true intentions so resorted to our usual strategy with undead. 'Stand aside spawn of darkness. We parlay not with those of the underworld to fulfill my Holy mission.' 'So a "Holy mission" is it. Very well... DESTROY THEM ALL!'
