A Revolution of Hearts About the game:  It’s hard to change a society that’s been set in its ways. Everyone feels the pain of how our culture has established itself, but anything short of a revolution might not bring out the meaningful change needed, and a small group of friends isn’t nearly enough to change things, right? That’s part of the issue, and why so many are willing to look away from the pain they suffer every day. An engrained cynicism, a belief that no one can actually change things, has left us broken, willing to sit by as us, our friends, our family, and even our enemies go through a wounded existence. But you can’t bring yourself to ignore things any longer. You know that nothing will be done if you don’t fight to change things, and you know there’s no more time to wait. You’ve seen the distortions of the world, symbols of corrupted desire seeping through the boundaries of consciousness into reality, and you know now that, if you find enough like minded individuals, you can use this to fix things. All it takes now is to find those corrupt individuals, the ones hurting the world as we know it, and diving into their Labyrinths, twisted manifestations of their view on reality, found in a parallel dimension you’ve come to refer to as the Void. You can’t do it alone, and it’ll take working with anyone willing to help to make it out alive, but you know that things don’t have to be stuck in their ways, that if you band together, a Revolution of Hearts will fix everything. ------------------------------------------------- A Revolution of Hearts, as the rundown might suggest, is very heavily inspired by the Persona series, Persona 5 in particular. The players will play as a group that has grown tired of the monotony and struggles of life, and they all want to do something about it. While not necessarily having to be friends, they all have the power to transport to a dimension called the Void, and as a result have allied together in hopes of fixing things. The setting is a modern, but fictional, city, one that I and the players will build together during our session 0, and is filled with a variety of potential allies or enemies. Like in Persona, you will form bonds with the people you meet, and the bonds you make can be used to help your quest along. Play will be divided into delving into Labyrinths, our equivalent to the Palaces of Persona 5, and going through life in the mundane world. Labyrinths will be a more traditional RPG experience, whereas the mundane world will be more freeform and investigative, with the Labyrinths focusing on fighting enemies and stealing treasures, while the mundane world will focus on going through daily life while searching for your next target. About the GM:  Hiya! I'm Laina, and I have over 7 years, 5 of which I've spent as almost a full-time GM. I have experience with a wide variety of games, from mainstream games like DnD and Pathfinder, to more niche PbtA games, and am quick to learn systems as well! I am a big fan of player choice and letting my players do whatever wild ideas they come up with, and I treat all of my players as equals at the table. I love world building, and working to create interesting and unique worlds with my players! I also have experience running games for audiences, as I have a TTRPG podcast, and have run multiple charity streams for that podcast. I'm also a trans lesbian, and as a result I make sure to make my tables welcoming for people from all walks of life! Above all else, I am a roleplay focused GM. I am happiest running games when everyone is passionate and excited about playing their characters, and when I can tell they're truly immersing themselves in their roles. I also greatly enjoy world building, specifically in collaboration with my players, and like to create diverse and engaging worlds for my players to play in. In play, I like to always greatly consider my players ideas for what they want to do and how they want to do things. Unless the idea is quite literally impossible, I always try to say yes to every idea given to me, especially the most buck wild ideas possible. I also enjoy tailoring my campaigns to the player characters, dedicating arcs to characters backstories, and making the world, enemies, and allies personable to the players.
