Is there a way to make assets dragged from my library stay in a specific size?

Hi, I've got some spell effects ive uploaded to my library but they arent scaled correctly when dragged onto the map. I've tried adjusting the scaling, but that only works for the singular asset. If I were to drag another one onto the map, its back to the wrong size. The work around I've seen for this is to make a "character" for these effects to have the default token sized correctly, but then I run into the issue of having the token not set as a drawing and making it an absolute pain to attach to a character token without the character token flying all around the AoE when moving around the map and snapping to grid. Please help!

When you save the default token for the spell effect character, make sure to set it as a drawing first , and save as default last . Then when you drag it out in the future, it will be a drawing.

I can group them fine once I move the asset to the back, but as soon as I go to move the character token, it shifts randomly to another part of the AOE and doesn't stay in the middle where it belongs. Any advice?

Ah, that's likely Roll20 being "helpful"... To prevent snap, hold down the alt/opt key while dragging. Also, moving a group in Roll20 is versatile but quirky. Click and drag on a token in an unselected group, and you will drag just that member of the group. Click and release (so the group is now selected) and then drag, and you will drag the entire group. Tricky, but powerful, as it allows you to rearrange members of a group without selecting. Remember the alt key when moving the group or its members. To maintain the stacking order, you will likely have to manually send the AOE token to the back when you bring it out. Make sure before you save the default that sight is not enabled on it (If you have that option).
