Hiya! Name's Matt, I've been GMing for a bit over a decade now, and I can count the amount of campaigns I've been in as a player on one hand. I love D&D and love theorycrafting different character ideas that I just never get to use, other than being NPCs that the players are destined to defeat. I genuinely, really want to just play in a game ASAP. To preface, I am autistic, so I'm a bit honest and enjoy following rules as much as possible. Now you might want to ask what 'normal' means. It means no custom homebrew rules that are SUPER outlandish (like making all cantrips bonus actions, changing how attack of opportunities work, basically altering core rules), gimping of main classes just because of lore reasons, banning of the most common races (like humans, elves, orcs, etc.), and if homebrew is allowed, is carefully managed to make sure no one is outright broken. My style of play is that I LOVE roleplay, and I get really into character, do voices and take the roleplay quite seriously. I try to put myself into their shoes and attempt to act as realistically as I can without diminishing the fun of my fellow party members, as this is a cooperative storytelling game in the end! :) I am also a big fan of combat and do tend to make 'strong' characters, but I do not minmax, I just optimize to make sure I'm competent and not dead weight for the party. I do not get along with murder hobos or people that do random stupid things for the sake of it, like throwing a stick at a sleeping bear just to see what happens. My availabilities are Tuesdays and Thursdays, preferably evenings. Weekends are preferably avoided, but I am willing to be flexible if the game is particularly interesting. My time zone is GMT +2, or same time zone as Germany and Italy. If it matters, a few of the classes I want to play if homebrew is not allowed are: Revised Ranger Beast Conclave Herculean Brawler (Basically Fighter/Wizard/Rogue multiclass, in that order, focusing entirely on grappling) Fighter Battlemaster that will either multiclass into a spellcasting class or get magic initiate. Like, a lot of different kinds of clerics. Not the healy kind. Either Oath of Devotion or Oath of the Watchers Paladin. Honestly, I'm pretty flexible, these are not set in stone. If homebrew IS allowed, I am very interested in trying out the Summoner class, the kind that has a highly customizable Eidolon that does the heavy lifting. Admittedly it might be on the stronger side, so I am willing to work with the GM to balance it out if they deem it necessary. I would be super excited to join a game if anyone thinks this all sounds good! Thank you for reading.
