In the realm of Gallstachen, fear is an everyday state of being. What had once
been a relatively peaceful, growing, farming village was rent to despair and
tragedy when a passing warlock made promises to aid them with their ills. What
he wound up doing was causing pain, death and sorrow as he subjected the
townsfolk to terrible experiments and abducted many of them when he departed in
the blink of an eye. Enraged and terrified, the villagers swore to never again
let magic enter their domain. With their fear and hatred,
their bridge to Ravenloft was secured and their fates sealed. So when yet another
magic-user happened through their plane, claiming to be a “doctor,” they
reacted with violence. They chased the mage from the township and thus sparked
a war as he retaliated. But upon raiding the village’s graveyard, his
experiments led to the creation of a very dangerous creature. A creature with a
tormented reality but clear wants all his own. Who is at fault…? Who deserves redemption…? Is the plane salvageable
or has Ravenloft sunk its talons in with fervor? All three powers vie for
control. Any of them could become a lord of the domain. So the question is, with
your characters having been thrust through the mists and trapped within…how
will they unravel this mystery and find their way out…? About the GMs : I, CuteNewt, will be handling most interactions but my co-GM is still a huge part of the plot. We're a friendly sort, love it when players ask us questions about the setting or scenario and really just enjoy writing/role-playing.
