So I'm planning on getting the supporter subscription, but I wanted to know how easy it would be to upgrade to mentor if I wanted to. I'm interested in a lot of stuff mentor has but I'm just not sure at the moment.

Pretty easy. You can hop between subscription levels as desired.

To speak at further length, you can pay for a month of mentor level subscription and if you feel like it's not for you, you can drop back down to supporter or base level.
