[LFP][D&D5e][Homebrew] Returning DM looking for 4-6 players, new players welcome [Fridays or Saturdays GMT+10]

Hello all. Much like the title suggests, I'm a long-time DM looking to get back into the saddle after a modest hiatus. At the moment I don't have a concrete game that I want to run, as I prefer to tailor at least a decent portion of my game around the players, but I do have an outline of where I'd like to take things: A Tumultuous Kingdom: The characters are part of one of the noble houses of a kingdom that's on the brink of a political schism. With war on the horizon and tensions rising, it is up to the players to navigate fraying alliances and establishing new ones.   Frontiersmen: The characters are part of an expeditionary force, tasked with setting up a new town in the wilderness. Scrounge up resources, fight off the wildlife (and worse), protect yourselves from the wild weather, but most of all survive. In both cases, the games are intended to centre around a base of operations (be it the noble castle or the burgeoning town) with players taking on the responsibility of maintaining and improving these places, through adventurous deed and other means. While I do intend to include some mechanics to oversee these bases, it is largely going to be an opt in process as it's mostly just a means for me to progress the story without being entirely arbitrary. The former game is focused quite a bit on politics, with the latter being more focused on survival. With my current availability, I will be running a single game Weekly  either on Fridays 5PM GMT+10 or on Saturdays 7AM GMT+10 these times are negotiable, but both of those times are as early as I'm willing to go. Session length will be determined depending on the day, but I'm hoping to do at least 3 hours. I'm intending to use Discord for voice, and roll20 for any map function/dice rolls that may come up. The exact details of the games are going to be finalized once a full group has been established, if you have any question feel free to post them here or DM me. To express interest, please post here with which timeslot works best for you and which of the games you are interested in. Thank you for reading. Snowman.

Sorry about that I'm in gmt+5.30

Meaning that for a game to happen on your Saturday morning, say 7AM, it would be Saturday 12.30PM for me. My proposed earliest Saturday start time of 7AM for me, would therefore be at 2:30AM Saturday for you.
Hello Im interested in joining, im a veteran player forever dm so, looking to be a player for once haha

Hi, I'm interested in joining. I'd say I'm an intermediate player, have been playing 5e on and off for about 4 years. I currently play a game IRL that meets monthly and have jumped online in search of something more regular. I am also GMT +10 so either of the proposed times could work for me, though I'd personally prefer the Friday. Edit- of the two scenarios I would lean towards the tumultuous kingdom one. My group recently played Dragon of Icespire peak so I wouldn't mind something a bit more urban, but I'm not too fussed either way.

Hello! I'm interested in either setting, both offering compelling foundations for compelling characterization. I've spent the majority of my time in DnD on 3.5e, but I DM a 5e campaign myself so I'm familiar with the rule set. I live on CDT/CST,(-5), but also work a night shift. The Saturday 7am would put me at 4pm, which I'd be able to make, so whichever campaign happens on that timeslot I'd be happy with.
Fobos  &  Ruhe   Are your stated preferences for the Friday slot due to the starting time, and if so would a delay in the starting time for Saturday slot make it more desirable? Kaleb D. said: Hello! In a similar vein, would the Saturday timeslot still work for you if the start was to be delayed a couple of hours (if we assume at least a 3 hour session)?

A later start time would definitely help. However my main reason for prefering Friday is that I occasionally work overtime on Saturdays. (I finish at 10am Brisbane time when I do)
Hi there, im looking for a late night game to fill in some extra time. Im in MST here which i think is 6 hours ahead (could be wrong). I would only be interested/available for the Friday night game. As far as which game id prefer; I think I slightly lean toward The Tumultuous Kingdom but would honestly be happy with either game.

Hi there, I'd be interested if it was Friday but probably more like 7-8pm start given work/family. I've played a lot of 3/3.5/PF1 for ~8 years but new to 5E - I expect I'll pick it up fairly quickly. I'd be happy with either game. ETA: I'm also GMT+10.

A later start is not necessarily an issue for me. And 5e is essentially a slimmed down version of 3.5, so aside from getting potentially getting confused on some of the changes made to the minutiae, I'm speaking from experience here, if you're comfortable with 3.5 5e is not gonna be a problem at all. And with that, we've got the minimum requirement for a Friday game to commence. Unless, there's no response from some of the Friday timeslot players, in which case we're back to waiting for more interest responses. Fobos ,  Ruhe  &  Jake : If you folks can confirm whether or not you're fine with a later start, I can start sending out invites to the discord and game once everyone is on the same page. The aim at the moment is to have a session 0 on Friday in the game timeslot, to discuss character/setting etc. and for the game to get started next week if that lines up for everyone. Phantom Sanguine  &  Kaleb D. I thank you for expressing interest in my game, but it looks like the game is going to be going into the Friday timeslot. If things change, due to lack of confirmation from the prospective players of the Friday timeslot, I'd be happy to throw you a message.
Yeah a later start on either Friday or Saturday is fine with me.
Hallo. I would like to join. If theres still a need. Im an experienced player and live in Denmark. (gmt+6 is no problem for me on a friday) /Ernst - Im a true Viking, you want that right? ;-)

Hey Thank you. Should I do something now or do we make characters together when we join up for the first time?
Ernst J. said: Hey Thank you. Should I do something now or do we make characters together when we join up for the first time? Once I have the final confirmation for everyone that has expressed interest in the Friday timeslot, I will be sending out invitations to a Discord channel. The intention is then to have session 0 happen this Friday, where everyone will discuss characters and how they are going to be integrated into the setting. Until then, I don't mind speculation but I would prefer that people create their characters together, so that we can get a comprehensive whole. Heads up: I reached out to a duo earlier when applications were a little slow, so it is possible that we might end up looking at a group of 7 players in total. So I think I'm going to close this to new applicants until such a time that I've heard from the current candidates.
