I am trying to use a spirit guardians token from Animated Spellbook: Concentration Spells set and a PC. so that once cast it can just follow with the PC automatically. Right now I am having to faff about with one token and then the other.  This would be my first time using any R20 Macros so any help would be appreciated.  Thanks,

That won't be possible without api script access (a Pro sub feature). There is already a script that does something similar (called Carry or maybe CarryToken?), linking two tokens together for mounts or lanterns, etc.  I think standard auras are probably the only way to have an effect follow a token with Free/Plus.

I don't really use it, but if you L click and drag select all the tokens you want connected, then R click/ Advanced/ Group you will then be able to move them together just by clicking and pulling on the box, even after you click elsewhere and click back.  Hope that helps?

You can group tokens, as well. Right click->advanced->group I think? Though note that when you move grouped tokens, you'll need to click them first, wait a second, then move them. If you just start dragging right away then only one will move, unless things have changed since I last tried :/
