Chat Error

I was testing out macros when suddenly chat wont show anything except template. Asked the GM to clear chat archive but still not fixed. Anybody having the same issues or anybody have a solution for this?

Hi jungle! This looks like a corrupted Chat Archive. A game's Creator is often able to fix issues with their Text Chat by  clearing the Chat Archive  (note: not  clearing your current Chat Log ). A GM might want to copy/back up the Chat Archive before the Creator clears it.

GM said he already cleared but after that it's still not fixed :(

Did you verify he cleared the archive and not just the log ? Clearing the archive is done outside the game and requires a special confirmation message. Because this really looks like classic archive corruption.

jungle said: GM said he already cleared but after that it's still not fixed :( As Keith's links indicate, there is a clear chat in-game, and a clear chat archive that is accessed from the game launch page.  Your GM has to do the one on the game launch page, because the in-game button just clears what you see and not the actual content of the chat log. While it is possible that there is something else going on, your screenshot shows a typical symptom of a corrupted chat log.

He just re-cleared the chat archive now and it worked, guess we just have to clear it every time we get a bug. Thank you for the help and the time.

If this is happening a lot, it might be a good idea to go over any custom macros people are using.  Malformed macros tend to be a cause of this sort of thing happening. You might be able to narrow it down with some trial and error testing.

Yeah, the one in the game is primarily cosmetic. The one outside the game nukes it.
