Under raging storm clouds, a lone figure stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. The vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich stares down a sheer cliff at the village below. A cold, bitter wind spins dead leaves about him, billowing his cape in the darkness. Lightning splits the clouds overhead, casting stark white light across him. Strahd turns to the sky, revealing the angular muscles of his face and hands. He has a look of power—and of madness. His once handsome face is contorted by a tragedy darker than the night itself. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires. The wind's howling increases as Strahd turns his gaze back to the village. Far below, yet not beyond his ken, a party of adventurers has just entered his domain. Strahd's face forms a twisted smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they have come—all according to his plan. He, the master of Ravenloft, will attend to them. Another lightning flash rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing through the castle's towers. But Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind—or perhaps a lone wolf—fills the midnight air. The master of Ravenloft is having guests for dinner. And you are invited. A bit about how I run the game : I do not run an Adventurers League game, I take liberties in delivery and encounter design. Additionally, I typically give rewards (whether that be magic items, levels, or other character/class-specific rewards) much more often than WoTC. When playing in my games no two characters who run through this campaign will be or have the same experience. Finally, should a party complete this campaign they will be allowed to continue their characters in a custom campaign based on the contents of Van Richtens Guide to Ravenloft. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $15 per session per player, delivered via Venmo or Paypal after the completion of each session (not including session 0). Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Rules and Other Stuff: 1. Bigotry is not allowed: Racism, Sexism, Homophobia, and other forms of bigotry will result in you being kicked from the campaign without a refund. Directed harassment against other players in the game will result in the same. 2. Outside homebrew content is usually going to be a no-go, that said most Unearthed Arcana is allowed. Always check with me if you’re thinking of using homebrew or UA content. 3. PVP is almost never allowed, that being said if all players present consent to it then it will be allowed. But in the case of PVP coming up a conversation out of character must be had to make sure everyone is comfortable with what will/could happen. 4. New players are welcome. I will do my best to help teach any new players the ropes of D&D, including rules, helping creating your character, and helping with character RP direction. 5. Be on time, Make sure before signing up for this campaign that the time works for you for the foreseeable future, if an emergency or something comes up and you have to cancel a session try to give at least a days’ notice. If one of the players is unable to make it to a session due to an emergency it will usually be canceled and delayed until the next week. When such a thing happens no payment for the canceled week is required. 6. Payment: Payment is $15 USD per player per session paid via PayPal or Venmo. Payments are collected after each session is completed. **Session 0 is Free** 7. Session Length: Sessions will range from 3 to 4 hours in length; each session will begin with a recap of the last session given by one of the players. 8. Requirements: A working microphone (preferably with minimal background noise), Discord, English proficiency, Availability at the listed time of 4pm CST on Tuesdays.
